1857 Hotel - Roomy and comfortable!

The very nice host walked us to the Annex which was accessed through an alley. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable bed, walk-in shower, and room darkening shades. A dumpster was emptied at around 7 am right outside our window - very loud. Other than that we enjoyed the stay immensely and will come again when in the area.

Quirky little hotel, but on balance I'd recommend. We stayed in the #600 condo around the corner…read more It's a large space with a full kitchen, large sitting area, laundry in unit, separate bedroom with a door, deck behind the bedroom. Up a long flight of stairs, probably the equivalent of two flights, but that was fine. Check in was pretty smooth, parking is right around back. There is a ton to do in the immediate area, including the National Quilting Museum, a fun and quirky arts district, and nationally-recognized restaurant The Freight House all within ~2 blocks. The quirky factor comes in with shower completely open to bedroom, completely worn out furniture on deck, and electrical that appeared to be installed by someone who is not a master electrician. I would stay in this unity again. The friends we were travelling with had a first floor unit that faced the sidewalk, and it was a bit noisy and didn't feel private. They would not choose that unit again.

I got a deal by paying a month in advance. I passed on the breakfast buffet deal. ( a little extra per day) I've seen it. It's good. But I'm here in Paducah for meat and potatoes in the evening. Saving appetite. Rooms cleaned every day. Good waterfront view. Not enough parking Internet drops off occasionally. I love it here.

Staff was all pleasant and constantly checking in on me to see what I needed if anything. The hotel is newer and still presents as such. The room I was upgraded to had a balcony with view of river. It was nice to have this for relaxing early in the morning and doing yoga. The bathroom could use more bars to hang towels and clothing as there are only 2 hangers on the bathroom door and that's all. Breakfast is not included unless you specifically book with it. It may be better to just pay for it outright depending on the number of guests in your party. There is plenty of parking around the hotel and you can enter thru side doors with room key. I loved the cleanliness of the hotel facilities, my room, and the ice machine area. All of this matters to me when I'm staying somewhere. Amethyst was so sweet when we checked in and cheerful. I love joyed the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel and felt very comfortable during my stay. I did not try out the bar or the burger spot downstairs.

On the 2nd floor is another unlocked, uncovered door that has a balcony butted up to yours. You could step over and be in your space. Not comfortable with that. 2 flights of stairs straight up to get to the 2nd floor and another flight to get to the bedrooms. With the Orgy shower sitting right in the middle of the floor between the 2 bedrooms was a little P Diddy for us regular folks. All the track lights makes it hard to find their cameras. CREEPY The beds were comfortable and the place was clean as a pin. That is what the 2 stars are for. There is no breakfast and the bar is a joke at best. Why people lie about live entertainment blows me away. It looked like an old Folks home TV room. They advertise a pool table. It is a private table and on the 3rd floor of the Trifecta room. No access for other customers. The pool room butts up to the P Diddy bedroom. Balls were broke and hollering went on til very late. The lady who they say is an owner(that's what this site says) gave me a very furred brow when I ask about the advertised table and where it was. (To say rude would be fair) I knew there was a pool adjacent to my bedroom because I heard it til late. Lastly... we were there on a Monday and nothing was opened. NOTHING!!!!! So for this business to advertise that other places are in walking distance is again very misleading. First off PIGGY BACKING off other businesses with your baseless claims of availability is a bit fraudulent. This whole thing is misleading. There was NO parking for us behind a condo. We had to park on the street and haul our stuff a city block before we started the multiple flights of stairs to the room. As town was dead this was still unacceptable as it is clearly stated on the site that parking was available and free. If town had anything going on we would have had NOWHERE to park.. When we arrived there had been an error made somewhere between Expedia and the Hotel. We were going to have to move rooms. There was no way that was going to happen. The young man on 2nd shift worked very quickly to get that second night cancelled and was very professional about the error. That is what 1 star is for. Just not my jam and after reading the other comments I would never try any of these other rooms either. Safety first. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig.

We usually stay at Hiltons so we chose this Hampton. Luckily we did not arrive to late so we had time to settle in and make it somewhere to eat dinner. After we settled in our room, we decided to check out the lobby area for a little. They have a little market, which is oddly placed behind the front desk counter. We grabbed a couple of beers and decided to sit at one of the tables to relax. The front desk person came up to us after he was done assisting all these other people and informed us the beers were on him. I thought that was so kind! When we returned from dinner, we decided to grab some beers and sit in the lobby again. There was a different front desk person but we did not interact with her as much due to her being in the back. The hotel overall gives an outdated vibe-in the room and lobby. We did make it for breakfast and there was a decent selection of items. Unfortunately, when I was attempting to grab another cup of coffee when I was done with breakfast, the canister was empty. Someone asked a staff member about putting a fresh container of coffee out and she went to brew it immediately. It still took about 15 minutes but we appreciated the immediate assistance. It was not done in vain because there was four of us waiting. I did not use the shower because the shower had mold and some parts did not look safe or clean. Like I said, a renovation definitely needs to happen here. The staff were great in all experiences. I even made it a point to compliment the front desk woman in the morning because she was dealing with several rude assholes and she did not deserve that.
