There was a secondary job of replacing a small outdoor shower enclosure. The discussion about the door was thorough with replacement - something which normally comes in around $1000 - $1500 (door & labor) - suggested as the best choice. For the shower, I was given some suggestions for a larger, nicer enclosure. I did agree to get an estimate for that as long as I also got one for a simple replacement of the smaller walls and the shower head. That meeting left me feeling pretty confident in this company. After a couple of weeks I had to call to see if an estimate would be coming soon. They apologized for the delay and sent me the estimate later that day. $9000 for an amazing sounding, spa-like outdoor shower. No estimate for a straightforward replacement however And more importantly, no door estimate. When the mistake was brought to their attention, they did apologize. Then sent me the same estimate again. Last night I received a new email - not an estimate for the door but an invoice for it. No estimate or description of what would be done. Just a bill of almost $4000 for a door and work which didn't actually exist yet. Something had been vastly confused in the shower, but I'm puzzled that after that I'd still receive a stunning bill for a non-existent door One which I imagine would be incredibly epic on the little beach cottage it would end up on.

They built my home 14 years ago, and once I made the final payment to them when the home was…read morefinished, I didn't get much help with problems associated with the construction. Part of the construction was a pre-cast bulkhead entrance to my cellar, which has constantly leaked every time it rains heavily or when there is a lot of snow melting. Their solution was to put down some sealing cement at the base of the bulkhead. Water always finds a way to seep through this stuff and should only be used as a temporary stop gap measure. They also installed my oil furnace at the opposite end of my cellar, 45 feet away from the zero clearance fireplace I had installed, which could have been used to vent the exhaust from the furnace. It's little things like these that don't bode well for customers who use this company. All in all, I wouldn't use this contractor again if I were to build another home. Their houses look great when completed, but the beauty masks the haphazard way they make them. Their slogan should be "Get them up, get them in, good luck and goodbye!!!"

We had a 1970s kitchen in Charlestown, RI that was in desperate need of updating and a first floor that needed a face lift- Columbia House brought our condo up to speed and we couldn't be happier. They did a complete gut of our kitchen, replaced all the flooring on the first floor, updated the first floor bathroom, and installed all new doors throughout the house. With the kitchen, Mike, Dan and Nate removed a wall, installed new cabinets, countertop, put in a custom recessed cabinet, relocated heating, installed a gorgeous marble backsplash complete with under cabinet lighting and installed wide-plank flooring. In the bathroom, once again, another custom recessed fixture, new vanity, flooring, shelves, lighting, and popcorn ceiling removal. They finished ahead of schedule- and we are impressed. They reinstalled all lights and even went out of their way to put in a new doorbell on one door because the old one was so dated. At another point I was home and tripped a circuit breaker which wouldn't rest and needed N electrician so he even called one for me who turned out to be top notch. Very reasonable in price, extremely professional and I am thrilled with the work. They were recommended by a co-worker who also couldn't say enough about them and has recommended them to several people; all of which he said were thrilled with them. 110% recommend. I will also note that I did get two other quotes (sort of). One was higher and the other just kept asking what my budget was saying they would make it work.
