The tech rang the door bell prior to start of service to greet us and advise us of the service today and then left a friendly note on the paperwork left at the door. Barrett's a pro! Lawn service is the very best. I experienced problems when it came to winter pruning service. My advice, verify every shrub or tree you want serviced/Pruned. See it in writing to avoid unpleasant conversation (I said he said). All in all, a very (fuzzy math) costly service not to be repeated. read more

This company is terrible. They sprayed chemicals on my very large organic elevated growing beds without my consent. My neighbor asked them to spray and they sprayed chemicals when it was obvious that it was not my neighbors property and it was obvious that I do not use chemicals in my yard. The owner of Lawn Doctors came out to my house and acknowledged that their service person "knew better". But there is nothing they can do to get my beds back to an organic state. I have beautiful native plants in that bed that might be killed by the chemicals. I have never been more upset with a company. read more

New to Ft Collins and thought we'd give these guys a try. They treated my lawn for weed control and after a week I noticed a LOT of weeds in back yard, so I started hand weeding, after 3 hrs I realized this was too much. I later called and spoke to one of the office staff. she told me - "no problem we'll send someone out at no charge". A few weeks later the weed service guy showed up - nice guy - did another treatment. He handed me a statement and I reviewed it later. I was billed again, so I called the office. The guy said, yeah, it was 4 weeks after the initial weed treatment so you get billed. I said, what about the fact that your team member told me there would be "no charge"? Apparently the company makes agreements and rescinds them at whim. Yeah, you're getting billed-too bad. I cancelled our service. read more

There are so many things to pay for in maintaining a home that sometimes you can't always do everything you want. The last several years my lawn was getting hard to maintain and the weed killers, fertilizers etc that I was purchasing were really not working that great and I felt like i was throwing money away. It is an added expense every year to contract with Lawn Doctor but it is really worth the price. My lawn looks great and if I have any questions, they are great about getting back to you immediately. Lawn Doctor has done a great job caring for our lawn for the last three years. Today we had our lawn aerated and the gentleman that did a great job also picked up all the flags we used to mark the sprinkler heads and taped them together and put them on our porch. Lawn Doctor does a great job marking the property that sprays have been applied and I am told they are environmentally "safe". They also notify us a day in advance before they come to the home to spray. Our experience is no weeds in the lawn and if some were to show up they will come back and spray. read more

I purchased a fruit tree program for my pie cherry trees. The product they used made the fruit unfit for human consumption. I was never told you cannot eat the fruit. I was only advised of this after they applied the product and when I called to find out how long I had to wait prior to picking the fruit. Why sell a fruit tree program if it makes the fruit toxic and inedible? This demonstrates a lack of concern for the health and safety of their customers. read more

If I were doing this review a couple of years ago, I would have given them a great review, but unfortunately over the last year and a half, their field employees don't care about following account instructions that have been in place with them since I started with them years ago. I came home to find they arrived at 10am to spray. Account instructions are always never before 3pm because that is when I can be home from work. I have Goldens who have a dog door. I was highly upset because I could have found dead Goldens when I got home. This happened a few times more, and I talked with the office manager. I agreed to keep trying them to see if they fixed this problem but yesterday I was told that my account instructions did not apply to aerations, funny, they did before. The lawn manager also said I would have to pay more for my aerations if I wanted them at 3pm. He said I did not need to be there for an aeration but what if their employee runs over my Golden's feet, or hits her with that machine? Is it acceptable to have them on a property with a dog of any breed in case they get bitten? I was told that the aeration that I prepped for today was cancelled, and he could just cancel my account. I said, fine, go ahead. Obviously they don't care about their long term customers. I spent around $500, sometimes more, per year with them. I always thought they did great work, but as I said following instructions anymore just weren't a priority, and they showed up when they felt like it. I guess business is good, and they don't worry about losing long term customers. What I found interesting while looking for companies to get estimates to takeover my tree and shrub care, insect/disease control, deep feedings and aerations, is that all of them asked if I had dogs, locked gates, etc. read more

Why have Fort Collins trees if you don't see one of the guys from Lawn Doctor? Despite their name, they came highly recommend for their exceptional tree services. After having a fairly good experience with Lawn Doctor Fort Collins in 2014, I felt good about obtaining their services for Spring/Summer 2015. I paid for lawn service (fertilizer/weed killer), as well as tree/shrub pruning and pest prevention injection to one tree. I sure wish I hadn't! My lawn looks terrible! I have called them repeatedly and have been told the same old things; either leaf blight and/or improper irrigation. Unfortunately, it is very plain that my lawn was significantly over fertilized. I have had several knowledgeable individuals take a look at the lawn and they have been very surprised that Lawn Doctor would deny the very apparent over fertilization! I did not pay Lawn Doctor for the last treatment they applied and they were okay with that, but it still doesn't do a thing for my lost lawn! I spent hundreds of dollars with this business and they could care less about their mistake. BE VERY CAREFUL IN DEALING WITH THIS BUSINESS. KNOW YOUR STUFF BEFORE ALLOWING THEM TO DO ANYTHING ON YOUR PROPERTY, AND BE PREPARED FOR BOLD FACE LIES WHEN THEY MAKE A MISTAKE. read more
