I requested that YardElves bid on a residential lawn-to-xeriscape native garden project. Work included removing grass and a large shrub and installing a berm and gravel pathway. They came out, dismissed key elements of our professionally-designed plan, bad mouthed CSU and the City of Fort Collins, and suggested I plant hydrangeas instead. I did not receive a bid or any further communication. They don't seem to have a vision for low water-use landscapes or natural landscaping, but maybe they will follow up on projects that align with their horticultural preferences. read more

I'm really torn on how to rate Yard Elves. I've had them do a few projects and the quality of work is excellent. BUT communication is awful. And I mean awful. I let it slide initially because of how good the work crews are, but finally the lousy communication from management affected the work and I decided I was done with them. The owner is very personable - I genuinely liked her. But, she's unreliable and disorganized and that is no way to run a business. read more

We recently had Yardelves install a complete backyard renovation at our property. The foreman Alex and his crew did such a fantastic job for us. We had discussed the fact that we were having a get together very soon and needed it completed within the month. Yard Elves does high quality work! They installed red stripstone edging for some flower beds, stripstone around a large red flagstone walkway and a large cement pad/patio that would support a hot-tub at my first property in 2013. The cement pad/patio has not cracked or chipped and the pour was very smooth. The walkway was done in such a way that it is rare that weeds ever take hold in the 'cracks' between the pavers. This home was new construction so there is often shifting and settling that happen with the clay soils. For the items Yard Elves installed, there seems to be no problems with the clay soil. The front step of the home that was poured by the builders is experiencing wash away of soil from underneath but the Yard Elves installed patio is not having that problem. If you want quality work done that won't require a redo in 5-10 years, contract with Yard Elves! read more
