Busy place! Limited parking spaces on the street and in the small lot in front of the restaurant. There was a line inside the restaurant even around 1pm. You can choose 1 or 2 poké items for your bowls, and then add your preferred toppings like furikake. I ordered the Zesty Threesome and Da Crazy Asian with white rice as base instead of salad or a combo of both. Zesty was a bit spicy for me. Overall, thought the poké was a bit salty... didn't finish it. But it did taste fresh though. No seats to eat inside., but some are available on the outside.

Hands down some of the best poke on Kauai! You can't get fresher than this--we actually watched them bring in a whole delivery of fresh Ahi while we were there, which was so cool to see. Lawai'a Fish Company is way more than just a fresh fish market, too. They have delicious desserts and even carry fishing lures! Awesome vibe, incredible quality, and a absolute must-visit spot. 10/10!

I've been to Kauai tons of times but why only this recent visit I stopped here, something is wrong with me?! hehe. I happen to search lunch stops on Instagram and came across Lawai'a, I actually made 2 stops, the day before and the day of flight. Cute little store, very popular and busy parking lot. Lawai'a Fish Co. reminds me of Tanioka's back on Oahu. This business got so much seafood goodies along with snacks, desserts, Wow! One stop shop for everything! I also saw a post for cheap eats and had to see it for myself, hehe, the table in front has pre-packaged bento and I spot one that was $6. hard to believe nowdays. I didn't get the plate lunch which looks good too or the poke variety, we had lunch plans so first visit was spicy poke for the other half to try, the tofu poke, and $6. bento of fried ahi limu for me. I am not a fan of poke and don't eat anything raw, so jealous of my hubby and kids to love it so much! I was happy that hey have a fried ahi bento available for only $6. We/I really enjoyed bento, hubby mentioned the spicy ahi was great and that tofu poke salad, WOW. I loved the taste, comes with tofu, sea asparagus, and onion, so GOOD! I stopped by the next day to grab 2 containers of the tofu poke and the ginger fried poke $6. bento. This place is a GEM for sure, very busy, I cannot wait to be back!!

Loved loved the poke here! We stopped by on the way to our airport at the end of our vacation on Kauai and luckily we did as it was my favorite poke spot we tried. First, loved how local it feels and they sell a variety of poke, bento, cooked plates and even desserts! They also sell whole fish so you know the poke is fresh. I grabbed a pick 2 fish bowl with yuzu hamachi and chili garlic ahi. Loved the hamachi with was dressed with sea asparagus for a nice savoriness. You don't see hamachi poke often but it's one of my favorite types of sushi. Chili ahi was good as well and definitely had a kick. We also wanted to try tako (octopus) and got the kimchi tako which was nice and tender. Surprisingly the kimchi was pretty spicy too. Overall great spot for poke and I'll definitely need to come back if I'm in Kauai in the future. I'm still thinking about the hamachi poke a couple weeks ago.

Amazing Poke place where locals go. This place was recommended by the staff at our hotel. We ventured into the industrial part near the freeway. When we got there, there was a line of 20 guests. We tried the sesame ahi and the da crazy Asian ahi. Sat outside and dined with the roosters. Food was amazing and definitely worth coming back for more. Thank you for a wonderful island poke experience

We have friends who work here and have told us how good this is for awhile. Finally was here without plans and was able to come here! Great decision! Its mainly a poke, fish and plate lunch place. They have pre-made grab and go bento boxes available, fish for sale, and a large counter of poke and other cold foods. They also have hot plate lunch specials daily. When I arrived, I think I was the only non local person here. Many construction workers eating outside and a lot of office workers were inside in line on lunch break. They have a large selection of pokes and a good selection for plate lunch. My wife had a poke bowl with rice and salad, shoyu ahi with crispy onions, and other toppings. I had the garlic chicken plate lunch. Omg - as good as any chicken on the island. The potato mac salad was delicious- had a good amount of black pepper in it. I loved it. I also got some small tubs of Poke, Spicy Ahi, and Chili Pepper Ahi. Both were amazing! The staff were super helpful friendly and hard working. They moved a lot of people through line quickly. Great place. If you're local, im sure you already know. If you're on vacation, they are definitely worth coming to! So good! R

Nothing hits after scuba diving like super fresh poke Absolutely loved this spot in Kauai...the chili garlic tuna was SO good and I loved being able to get all my toppings on the side exactly how I wanted. Fresh, flavorful, and one of those meals you keep thinking about after

Love Lawai'a! Great ahi steaks here, as well as other fish on the basis of what has been caught. Also great prepared meals also! Lunch time is very busy as many stop by for their excellent prepared food. We love the ahi which we take home to make our own poke bowls. Very friendly staff. If you are just buying ahi or other steaks from one of their display refrigerators, you can jump ahead of those in line for prepared food. They are located in an industrial park, and parking is limited. Most get their food and take it elsewhere (the beach, a park, home, back to work, etc.). There are some picnic tables out front. You choose where to dine. Highly recommended!

We wanted to buy some fresh fish to grill and after asking around we were told this was a good place to buy it for ourselves. It is in an industrial area and it was tough to find parking and this was a very popular place. After finding parking we found some decent prices for the fresh fish. This is the place for fresh fish. They also had this amazing looking dessert called Pumpkin Crunch.

So at the job site we was working at the manger bought us food from here so I'm not to sure how the service was or how the place looked but I will say I was kind of disappointed in the lau lau which was dry. But the poke on the other hand was delicious so I would definitely go back to try some different poke and other things they have on the menu other than that this is all I can write for now. K bye

This fish market opens at 6:30 AM which is perfect for those who need to be up early to go to the airport. The spicy salmon is good, big chucks of salmon. I did half greens and half rice. The greens were a bit bitter. This poke is a bit more saucy so recommend the sauces on the side if you don't like too much sauce. The max salad here isn't up to my quality of Mac salad so I would skip on that.

Food: Poke Nachos Price: $15.99 Overall: I had a layover in Lihue and I searched up on TikTok to see if they have a poke spot and this spot popped up. We came in and they had on the go items, fish, and desserts like strawberry cheesecake. After all the poke bowls, we shared the poke nachos and chose the chili garlic ahi and da crazy Asian ahi. I really enjoyed the da crazy Asian ahi because there is papaya in it. The workers were really nice and the poke flavors that we tried are all delicious! *This poke spot does give out samples*

Out of all poke/fish spots I tried on my recent trip to Kauai, Lawai'a was my favorite. Good valued portion! Quick service. The fish was fresh and had good texture. Lots of other options on the menu as well. Parking can be tough but it's worth checking out!

Still it is obviously the best place to get the most for your buck. Our location has some distinct qualities that you may want to know before you go. 1) this is a local gathering place, if your expecting a Costco-RAT-Race, like the mainland, think again. People often stop to give hugs and aloha to friends they see, staying to chat in inconvenient areas to tourist (I am totally guilty of this, and I love seeing my friends, students and their families- you just got to send them your "ALOHA") This may be annoying to some people, but it is a way of life here- so just be happy to have a little slice of aloha. 2) they don't always have stock- Tuesdays are a great day to go. Lastly, 3) checking out. If you choose to self-check out... you may be confused. As it stands now, and for a really long time, there is one line to stand in for 3 lanes of check out. Is it logical: no. Does it confuse visitors and even people like me: yes. For some reason, Costco wants all self-checkout folks to stand in one line and then go calmly and orderly to whichever of the 3 checkout lane openings is free. This really confuses visitors, and sometimes even leaves them with stink eye or scoldings from the locals. After all, those who live on Kauai have been trained to the 1 line system. About 1/2 the time, there is a staff that alerts the next person to go to the available self-check out, but where they are not there, or need to assist someone with self-checkout or review and ID for alcohol: they are not there. I am really not sure why they have kept this single line system, rather than having 3 lines, but I guess there must be some reason for this. Does anyone know? 4) Please be kind to the staff, offer some aloha to them- Q, Carry and Deb are some of my favorite folks. Costco always tolerates me coming in costume as Darth Vadar and Princess Leia. This Costco is part of the aloha experience- please treat it with love. ***** If you are an executive member- this Costco is opening earlier for you! Make sure you check the times, this Saturday they opened at 8:45am and weekdays they open at 9am for the Executive Members. Enjoy and alooooha!

Should have done more research before coming here…read more Grocery poke is surprisingly good in Hawaii, so tried to find the nearest supermarket near our hotel in Kauai. Our lunch on Day 3 had been a bust, so decided to eat in more and get needed supplies. I knew that Safeway was affiliated with Albertson's, which I THOUGHT owned Foodland (which has great poke)...so came here and bought other stuff (cause we were already there). Later found out that my assumption was incorrect. The employees here are tired of tourists, I think. The woman at the seafood counter (which has a small poke section), acted like she was doing me a favor when I asked for the rest of the fresh hawaiian style poke. When I asked how good the from-frozen ahi poke was, she mumbled something unintelligible. Cashiers don't have to be friendly but should be at least respectful, and appear as if trying The lane was open, so it wasn't too busy. She barely acknowledged us but did scan each item without being asked (and we were self self bagging). But then there was a pause to push the process to start the payment process. Then another long pause after I had entered my credit card. Then another pause to print receipt. Then finally after printing, she grabbed the receipt without looking at it and just stuck out her hand AT me to grab without looking at me. The last two actions were happening while she was having a funny (to her) conversation with a co-worker. Not good when two employees together are acting like this without shame. A part of me wanted to lightly slap her receipt-holding hand and tell her "Didn't your mama teach you manners?".
