Don't ever bring these guys your guns to be appraised. I dropped off 2 guns on Sunday, was told it take a couple days and then they'd get back to. 2 days came and went. Tried to call on Wednesday but they were closed. Called on thurs and they said it be one more day. It's now Fri 5:30 and still nothing so I called asking NICELY about my appraisal, again they give me some nonsense saying the gunsmith was in the middle of lookin at them but then got called away for some emergency and that I should give them 1 more day and they'll get back to me. I'm sorry but I don't think it takes a whole week to appraise 2 guns! There's something not right with this place!! read more

Took a pistol in for routine service, two weeks later no call. I called and was told part was not in. Called again after two weeks and was told the order was lost five days from the original order. They reordered the part and in another week it was completed. Very poor customer service, I guess they don't want a return customer. I would go somewhere else I do not recommend them. read more

What an awesome place. Super friendly and informative people. Family owned. None of the snobby, rude attitudes you come to expect of most gun stores these days. A relatively small supply of firearms but they make up for with customer service. But they do often get new stuff in all the time. I guess that's a good sign. The have an excellent supply of AR parts and mags. The gunsmith works miracles. I gladly drive the 30min to visit these folks. This is the best gun shop I've ever seen. Went into buy a firearm for self-defense and found out they offer concealed carry classes as well. So me and my wife signed up and took a class and were amazed at the knowledge that the instructors had and how much attention they put to each individual student. This was our first gun we purchased and spent about 40 minutes with the sales person picking out the right gun. There and prices are incredible and they offer a 10 year warranty on the fire. Purchased a Bravo Company Group AR 15 in October, paid in full on back order when the shelves were empty. Staff said they can not promise delivery date of my BCG, maybe a month or two. 10-month and many calls later, the shelves are full and other BCG are being sold. I finally decided to cancel for a refund. At first they said over the phone, okay this would be processed. Radio silence, then when I showed up at the store to sort this out, and they demanded a 20% restocking fee. Their transfer fees and Ammo prices are also very high. I like to support small businesses, but I don't recommend these guys. Avoid Law Weapons & Supply. read more

When you gotta prep for the gun show, outside of the gym, you wanna go outside of Crook Co. obviously, never being out that far poses the challenge of finding a good place to add to your collection of tools. If you're in the market for a phew-phew (shooting sound effects), look no further than Law. Law is a nice change from the cocky gun dealers that feel they know it all, or look down on folks that ask "dumb" questions. There customer service is very accommodating, and their prices are very fair, and or more competitive than other stores. The bonus of coming here is that you can avoid the Crook County taxes/fees on everything from rounds, to new toys, to damn near the air we breath in the county. If you wanna buy a new weapon, or additional equipment and ammo, take the long voyage out to the Burbs and hit up Law. read more

This place is terrible!!! The owner(s) are rude, and are comfortable yelling at customers, including myself. I ordered something, and a year later with no notification after several calls they told me the order was never going to happen? ! They said they would refund my money, then sent me store credit gift card in the mail instead trying to be sneaky! They then made me come in to get refund and acted like they had no clue what I was talking about after I had already spoke to two of the owners about the issue. Then they were rude and yelled at me. I came to Law Weapons & Supply through their deal on Living Social. I signed up for the 4-hour Pistol Training Class. I have never shot a gun before, so I don't know if it was something I would like or even if I would like to even think about owning one for home. Thus the 4-hour was great so I wouldn't have to go through an 8-hour course before finding out whether I felt comfortable shooting a gun. After all was said and done, I liked it! The 4-hour class is perfect for someone who has never shot a gun before, doesn't know hand/eye dominance, or basic loading/cleaning. Our NRA Certified Instructor Martin was more than helpful in terms of preparing us for what to expect at the gun range. He even offered unbiased opinions as we shopped in the Law Weapons & Supply shop. They even had a couple of guns in colors like pink and lavender and in varieties from revolvers to semi-automatic. Before my class at Law Weapons & Supply, I didn't know what to expect or what to wear (basic, I know, but women think about these things!). What to wear: -something that covers your chest and arms (TRUST me, it does NOT feel good when the bullet casing (hot brass coming through!!) falls down your shirt! Long sleeves are good to protect your arms as well if you're sensitive to that feeling. -closed-toe shoes (in case the aforementioned bullet casings fall on your feet -- which they likely will) -pants -- again to protect your legs from those casings -eye protection -- bring your gun glasses to protect your eyes if you have them -ear protection -- whether you use ear muffs or disposable ear plugs. ***Eye and ear protection are available at the range to rent. You can also buy your eye protection from the Law Weapons shop.*** Gun range time: You will get an hour of gun range time in which you rotate with your classmates on who shoots. This is especially great for newbies as the instructor shows you how to put the bullets into the magazine, turn off the slide lock, and get ready to shoot. (I was really freakin' nervous. My heart sunk into my stomach and the instructor definitely helped to get me focused and prep the gun for firing.) If you own a gun, our NRA instructor was willing to help you feel comfortable with it. NOTE: THE RANGE FEE IS SEPARATE OF THE COURSE FEE. SO BRING AN EXTRA $21 ($20 for the range and a $1 for amusement tax.....). This is not noted on the website so bring some cash. Shooting targets cost extra as well; so cash for that would also come in handy. They have deals like 5 sheets for a $1 for a standard bulls-eye sheet. Law Weapons & Supply provides the guns and the ammo. If you do have your FOID, you can opt to rent a gun once you get to Article II. Also NOTE: The gun range used for this class is Article II Range in Lombard. You have a few hours of classroom at Law Weapons & Supply in Oakbrook Terrace and then drive over to meet up with your group after lunch at Article II for the hour of range time. Law Weapons & Supply shop itself: VERY secure. The door is always locked and they will buzz you in to control entry. Again, the staff is very helpful and could answer more questions than I could think of. They also eased me out of my apprehensive state since it was my first time in a gun shop. They have a great selection as well from rifles to semi-automatic to revolvers. My fellow classmates, our instructor, and the staff were all very great. 5 Stars reduced to 2. Service at store was great. Not so great was the conceal and carry class that was across the street in a rented office space with no air conditioning. Great instructor but hard to concentrate while your rear end hurts because of hard foldable chairs and you are sitting in a hot box room because the air conditioner has not worked all summer. Owner of Law Weapon says building owner won't fix the air. (THEN HOLD CLASSES SOMEWHERE ELSE) I wore a tank top, flip flops and Capri pants in case this 8hr class was as warm as the 8 Hr class (part one) I was in the previous week. It was Hotter. I took a 4-hr Pistol Training course with Mr. Novak and it was excellent. I was a complete novice and had never held or loaded a gun and I have a new respect for guns. I learned quite a bit, and Mr. Novak's course well well organized and thorough. We even got off topic discussing personal self-defense and home defense and I learned quite bit from his anecdotes as well. As another reviewer noted, the gun range time is at another location almost 15 minutes away, but we were given mapquest directions and pretty much just trailed each other to the range. The only downside was at the range when one woman from an earlier class was not taking the range time as seriously as she should. My sister was next to her and feeling a bit uncomfortable, and moved away and Mr. Novak was all business and told the woman if she didnt get it together and handle her firearm in the manner that was taugh (safely) he would dismiss her from the class. He was all business but then, we were all sharing a large range, and he was the only one with a bullet proof vest on (Ha!). But seriously, I appreciated him taking the range time so seriously, because it made the few that were acting lax tighten up a bit so everyone could be comfortable practicing what we learned. I dont live in the area, or I would definitely come back for another of Mr. Novak's courses, he was an excellent instructor. Oh, and I would have come in a bit earlier so I could take a look at what they had to offer in the Law and Weapons supply store.... I am going to give these guys three stars for the attentive customer service provided in the store. Unfortunately the gun I wanted, a Glock 27 was not in stock. Furthermore their price on it was about $80 more than any other retail store. This would explain the yelp coupon but it would make more sense to just competitively price to begin with. I took the five-hour class for WOMEN ONLY on firearm handling and self-defense. This class was specifically designed for women and it teaches basic pistol shooting fundamentals and self-defense techniques needed to survive an attack. It's worth ten times the price. I found it well thought out, well presented by Jerry Novak, and very informative. As a victim of spousal battery and a single woman living in downtown Chicago, I believe these are techniques that can save a woman's life. I would not hesitate to sign up for another class with Law Weapons & Supply. I highly recommend this professional outfit to anyone who's looking for an education on guns and/or self-defense. read more

This is a great place to deal with. We stopped in this evening to look around and my wife tripped coming in from the parking lot, biting her upper lip. The store personnel came out immediately and offered to call 911, put together a bag of ice, and gave her a bottle of water. It's amazing to see people display real concern, not just look away and pretend to be doing something else. I took a quick look around, and their store seemed to have lots of interesting handguns, ammo, and related items. I didn't buy anything right then, but we will definitely be going back! These are good people that I'd be proud to do business with. Lots of shops can sell guns and ammo, but finding concerned and compassionate people who actually look after their customers is a priceless discovery.
