I like everything about the place: the great sandwiches, the premium coffee, the fresh juices, the ice cream and above all Shazi and Ali who go out of their way to please the hardest customers.

The restaurant itself made a great first impression. It was clean, organized, and even had a nice little area set up for social media photos. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the presentation. I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with Greek chicken. The chicken was dry, and it was obvious the seasoning had been sprinkled on after it was cooked instead of being cooked into the meat. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower. The Brussels sprouts looked perfectly crispy, which is exactly how they should have been, but they were soft and soggy instead. To make matters worse, the sauce was packed inside the same container, so the steam made them even soggier while also heating the small plastic sauce container inside. The fried cauliflower was equally disappointing. It looked crispy because of its golden brown color, but there wasn't a bit of crunch. Instead, it was oddly firm, almost al dente, making it feel more undercooked than fried. I also tried the garlic chicken soup, expecting something similar to Avgolemono. Instead, it was a thin, watered down broth with the same dry chicken pieces from the Mediterranean Bowl tossed in. The pita bread served with it was honestly the worst part of the meal and the only thing I threw away. Nothing was completely inedible, but for more than $60 worth of takeout, I expected food that matched the clean, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. Sadly, this experience fell well short of that, and it's not a place I'll be returning to.

The clean your table for faster turnaround and they take care of the dirty dishes as I couldn't find a garbage can to throw my sandwich wrapper away. My companions and I came right on time on Sunday afternoon, the start of the lunch crowd around 1pm because the line line was forming to purchase, get a number and look for a table. It was a nice and sunny day in the Mission District. I couldn't decide if I wanted sandwich or salad. I went with the lamb which contained THOMAS FARMS LAMB LEG Harissa-Spiked Yogurt, Cucumber, Radish, Pickled Red Onion, Feta Cheese and one friend ordered the salad version of THOMAS FARMS LAMB LEG that had Harissa-Spiked Yogurt, Cucumber, Radish, Pickled Red Onion, Feta Cheese. This was perfect fulfilling and yummy in my tummy. Love to come here if I was in the area. One companion has strict dietary restrictions and it makes it had to find a place but this place is perfect. Healthy eating and it tastes good! And she was happy with her meal. They clean the tables pretty fast turn around and we lucky got a table. Good quality food and I had to get the frozen Greek Yogurt with honeycomb which brought back memories of Athens. Again another home run place to eat at. I never had a bad experience l.

As long as your expectations are set, you're likely to love it. My favorites are with honey or cherry. It's a refreshing piece of Europe tucked away on a small storefront in the city. Plus, the staff is always pleasant and efficient.

It might seem bizarre to recognize this familiar sandwich shop as my 7,900th review milestone but…read moreno more bizarre (and self-aggrandizing, I might add) than recognizing I've written 7,900 reviews...not counting updates. However, having a good sandwich is an essential part of life, and I chose this place because I can count on one here. And it's not because the name sounds like title of a gay porn film. Soft core, of course. Not into the hard stuff. Rimshot please. My sandwich of choice is the $13.50 Vegi on sliced sourdough. I like Dutch Crunch but only on carnivorous creations. Simple and meatless, I know, but I like the Vegi for the crunch of alfalfa sprouts, chopped green onion, and cucumber slices combined with the smooth texture of the provolone cheese and avocado along with the requisite lettuce and tomato (Photo 9). Mr. Pickle doesn't make an appearance in my sandwich, but that's just a preference. It is not a sit-down restaurant and doesn't pretend to be. What it is, is consistently excellent food at prices that still make sense in a city where that's getting rare. We're regulars, and we usually go on Sunday evenings after my girlfriend gets off work. Falafel wrap and chicken shawarma are our usual order -- the falafel has that crisp-shell, tender-middle thing going, and the wraps are generously built. We've branched out plenty and everything we've tried has been good. The other reason we keep showing up is the people. Turna usually takes our order, and she is genuinely lovely -- friendly in a way that isn't a customer-service script. My girlfriend and I always walk out in a better mood than we walked in with, which is worth a lot. Practical notes: halal, lots of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, open until midnight Fri/Sat, and they cater. Grab some napkins if you're eating the wrap on the move -- it's a big one, and that's a compliment.

I'm a big fan of the chicken shawarma--it's really flavorful and hits the spot when it's done right. That said, on a couple of my previous orders the meat was a bit on the dry side, but I still find myself coming back because when it's on point, it's really good. Staff is friendly, and most of the time you can stand on their ledges to eat or sit outside. There were 2 small tables that seat 2-3 per table. Pro tip: ask for the tahini and hot sauce on the side and load it into your wrap--it takes it up a notch.
