I love everything about Lavis! With the new management, the staff is great and attentive. They take their time to ask me about my specific wants and inform me on specials, if any. Everyone is very friendly, the decor is beautiful, the ambiance is serene, and I don't think I've seen a wider selection of colors. I've gotten my nails done here a few times now since they have re-opened after renovations. It's under new management with new workers and the place is nice and clean. They are wearing masks, have a cleaning station and seem to be regularly cleaning and sanitizing. So overall I was really happy with my nails, they did a really good job. The guy I had I believe his name was Kenny. He was very good about taking his time and being precise and my nails turned out amazing because of that. The only issue was the pricing. The total cost came out to $95 just for this acrylic set. I looked at the receipt after it was $60 for the acrylic set, $15 for the design and $20 for the gel polish, I didn't ask for gel polish. I now understand for this design, gel polish is needed but I wish he would have told me that before so I could have just gotten a plain color set of acrylic so it wouldn't have been THAT expensive. read more

HORRIBLE customer service by all but mostly the (greeter)gentleman at the front desk. the salon had one customer who was nicer than the actual staff. the gentleman at the front desk was SO rude, SO short and ruined the entire experience for the 3 of us. he started off by saying 'what are you getting?' and when i didn't answer fast enough he rolled his eyes. he didn't even say thank you when we paid. sad to say that i would rather drive to my old salon in sandy springs then spend money at this salon which is 3 minutes away from my home. i pray they either train their team on how to be nice to all customers, not just a select few or hopefully they are purchased by owners who know how to run a business in a close knit community. read more

What I got was 10 nails all different shapes, 3 cut fingers from the lady filing into my skin, my nails was lumpy, and just plan ol ugly. It was truly a bad situation and a waste of $42. First time at this nail salon. I was strapped for time and only had around 20 minutes to get a pedicure. The woman who did my feet didnt speak very much english but she was incredibly sweet. They were able to get me in and out in just enough time for my hair appointment next door. The layout of the store was very nice and clean, I didnt notice that the chairs werent massage chairs until another reviewer mentioned it. The only thing I had an issue with was the location of the nail polishes. The wall is directly behind a few manicurist tables so its a tight squeeze. There were people already there picking out colors so I had to wait until they moved out of the way. Thats my only complaint. The pricing was normal for what I received including extras. Really like this place for a couple of reasons. 1. No one is on their cell phones while doing my nails. I know that sounds weird, but it does give consistent quality. 2. It is really nice in the inside- the tables, the pedi chairs. I am one of those folks who never use the massage function, so that factor is not important to me. 3. It doesn't take 2.5 hours- if I have an appointment, then that's my appointment. I got SNS here a while ago and absolutely loooooved them, so I went back today for a spa pedicure. Worst decision of my life. The lady doing my nails was so sweet, but the pedicure literally hurt. She cut my big toe nails so short that they were bleeding and it felt like she was using needles on my feet. I've been getting pedicures for 10 years now at various salons and this is the first time that I have ever had pain like this... I also waited about two hours after I left to put socks and shoes on (After sitting at the actual salon for 20 minutes to let them dry) and when I took them off just now, I had to peel the sock from my toes because it stuck to the polish. Two hours after getting them done and they still weren't dry? My nails all have this weird texture from the polish that just ruins how nice they looked. I'm giving this place 2 stars because their manicures are phenomenal, but their pedicures could use work. The place is clean, but the chairs are wildly uncomfortable and unlike many places, you cant really position the chair so you're comfortable because they're fixed in place. They're very straight backed and kind of hard, which doesn't allow for a whole lot of relaxation. read more

I have been into Lavis three times. The first time, I told them I needed a full set, and they informed me it would be a 15 minute wait. Thirty minutes go by, and I ask how much longer, and could I at least begin soaking off my the old gel nails. A guy comes over and takes them off, and cuts my cuticle in the process. He said it would be longer until someone could actually begin, and at that point I had been there for at least forty five minutes, and I had to go. I made an appointment for the next afternoon. I go to my appointment, and don't wait more than a few minutes. I get a full set of the dip powder nails and chose a light lavender. When using the powder, it's difficult to see the actual color until the complete process is over. When he was down, I had Barbie pink nails. I honestly didn't mind, and wondered if I had pointed out the wrong color, the manicurist used the wrong container, etc. I didn't say anything and left happy. During my appointment, the nail tech told me my nails would last four weeks, and he had a customer who had gone six weeks. A week goes by, and I begin to see a crack in the dip powder about halfway down my nail. I was a bit confused and was careful. Not even a day later, a different nail completely breaks, damaging my real nail. The originally cracked nail then broke, followed by another nail completely lifting. This was after I was told they could last four weeks. I've been getting acrylics, gel manicures, and had done dip powder once before, and my nails have never broken like that. I was not in town, so on day 12 of my nails, which are now broken, I go back into Lavis. The owner looked and my nails, and wanted to fix them. I chose a nude color she recommended, and she began to work right at 5:00. TWO HOURS later, my nails are finished. The shape looks great, and they feel strong (this is only an hour after though). I was there so long, and I knew she wasn't even halfway done so I just got a pedicure while I was there. My nails took from 5:00 to 7:00, which is the longest it's ever taken me. I'm not one of those people to complain or correct the nail technician, I sat back and let her do what she needed to do. Also, the dip color she used, again, did not match the sample. The color was supposed to be an opaque nude/white, but it's basically clear. After two hours I'm definitely not having her re-do anything. Lavis is clean, they have a nice color selection, but overall I'm very disappointed. read more

Yesterday my 20 year old daughter just went into the nail salon and was just treated HORRIBLY. My daughter called me and stated the woman refused to serve her and told her to leave. I asked OMG what happened? She explained when she entered the nail salon the worker who was texting on her phone, asked my daughter what she wanted? My daughter stated she wanted a fill in and a nail replacement. The woman sat my daughter in the last chair by the window at a table that appeared to be where they dry your nails. My daughter looked since it was not crowded and the other customers (2 Caucasian getting their nails done and 1 African American women getting a pedicure) were sitting closer to the back. My daughter asked was there a chair away from the door since it was chilly outside? The employee slammed her phone down and told my daughter she could leave. My daughter asked what was her problem and this woman yelled at my child. "I don't want to do your nails!!!" And then went back to txt on her phone and walked in the back area. Embarrassed and horrified my daughter walked out and called the non emergency police number. A officer pulled up very quickly and my daughter explained to him what had just occurred and asked the officer how can this Lady refuse my service and talk to me like that. The officer stated!!! I am so sorry that happened to you but it's not illegal to be racist and even refuse your service inside her business... WTH?? He stated where as it is rude/ disrespectful/ and morally WRONG even if you file a complaint because she didn't hit you it's not a hate crime.. He advised my daughter to write a review about them on yelp and other social media platforms and make sure others don't give that business money if that's how they treat people... I came to pick my daughter up and saw the customer my daughter described leaving the nail salon (The women that had gotten the pedicure). I approached the woman and asked if she saw the exchange between my daughter and the employee? The women remembered my daughter coming in and complemented she was very pretty but that she was in the back so she did not hear everything. When I explained what happened she was also appalled and also shocked that my only option is a social media rant but no legal actions when we are homeowners of this area...SMH I then entered the location and immediately saw the employee my daughter described and again she was on her phone.... I asked very politely if the owner was available, she looked up and said No very dry and looked back down to her phone. I asked well Ma'am do you know when the owner will be back?? Again.. dry "No" eye roll and back to her phone. I said excuse me what is your name and where is some form of management for this business? She said I'm Hellen and I'm the manager why...., I said say no more I see where this will go, I took a business card and walked out... This was a disrespectful display of customer service and if this is the quality of employees this company hires, I would not dare even think to give them a dime of my money. I will also send communication to BBB to see what the ethical guidelines are for customer discrimination. I have not purchased a home in a area to have my children or myself treated like this ANYWHERE. And then to read the back of the business card just makes it more insulting how they are selling this false narrative of being so morally grounded... read more

Having bounced around from salon to salon over the years trying a variety of services & techs, I have finally found one that I love! While the space is fantastic; clean, modern & tastefully decorated, it's two specific technicians that will keep me coming back. I've been seeing Helen for SNS nail treatments. She is AWESOME. Super meticulous, she never rushes and makes sure each nail is perfectly shaped & polished. I've been particularly impressed with how she thins out the SNS powder/polish to give the nails a more natural look & feel. I've also seen Nancy for gel nails & pedicures. She is equally meticulous, skilled, & thorough (not to mention, very friendly!). I highly recommend both ladies! I visited this nail salon for the last time today. I will start by saying that this salon is always clean, the women doing your nails are always kind and have done a pretty good job for the most part. I'm always a little perplexed about the appointments. It almost impossible to "drop in". They are "busy" but 80%of their chairs are empty. When you call to get an appointment, they are never able to accommodate. They are"busy". When you arrive, it's the same...not busy. The straw that broke the camels back occurred today. This was the second time I have been in this salon when the mgr has reprimanded one of the employees. Both times, it was not done quietly or privately. It was done in front of the customers. This embarrassed the employee as well as the customers around them. Both incidents were small incidents and did not affect the customer. However, it made for an uncomfortable situation.
