It's hard not to love this place. Dr. Woll's experience and skill are truly second to none. I've dealt with a few skin conditions over the years and have seen many practitioners, and I can honestly say I wouldn't choose to go anywhere else. The front office staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. It genuinely feels like walking into someone's home. Helen oversaw a fairly complex skin treatment for me and was both intuitive and compassionate throughout. She had a calm, reassuring way about her and made me feel confident that everything would go exactly as planned, and it did. My husband and son had back to back appointments. They canceled the appointments because the doctor was out and couldn't reschedule for over a month. Then we get there and they took my husband and son to the same room so I went with them because my son is TWO YEARS OLD. They came in and said I had to get out because it would make the room "too hot". My son is TWO YEARS OLD. Don't kick his mom out of the room! Then the exam on my husband was all of two minutes and not thorough at all even though he's had skin cancer before. Will NEVER go back here after this. read more

I used to go to Dr. Woll before I had to change insurance companies because of Medicare. After experiencing a few of the "Doctors" that were part of the new insurance plan, I gave up on them and went back to Dr. Woll as a cash patient. The office staff at Dr. Woll's Montclair office are extremely professional as well as polite and friendly. They are there to help you any way that they can. Dr. Woll is, in my opinion, the BEST Dermatologist in the IE. She does not waste your time with useless treatments. She sees the problem and solves it. I will always recommend her to anyone thatI can. My only fear is what am I going to do if she decides to retire. read more

SCAM!!!! Don't go here! I came in and they had me wait quite some time. Once they TOOK MY MONEY and had me in the patient room they said that the doctor is running behind and if I can see their PA. I decide to give the PA (physician's assistant) a shot. The PA was nice and so was the checking in nurse. The office manager is a complete JERK though. Absolutely hate the office manager's attitude and condescending demeanor. She acts like she owns the place. So the PA was decent but she said she was gonna send out 4 prescriptions (one needing a prior auth request and another is over the counter). I go to the pharmacy and they only have 2 of the 3 prescriptions I need. I did not write down the name of the scripts as I trusted the PA and this office (my first mistake). I call the office as I am at the pharmacy. They said they only see the 3. I ask to speak to the PA and they said she will call me back. I call again the next day as I did not get a return call and it has been more than 24 hours. The PA is gone for the day and will be back tomorrow. Ughhhhh. Why not tell me that before? The day before. Yesterday???? What if this was an urgent case and I needed this medicine ASAP? This place does not care about their patients and just wants your money. I will NEVER EVER EVER go here again. I asked to speak to the doctor who's name is on the WALL and building and they said she is gone for the day and won't be back till next week. This place gets you in to see the doctor and just passes you along to a PA so they can run the show. They still charge you as if you were seeing the DOCTOR! The FULL AMOUNT OF YOUR COPAY! I wish I read the reviews prior to coming to this clinic. I went in to get a growth checked out, was told to have a biopsy done. I said ok. No information past that point was relaid to me. I gave the front desk my insurance from the beginning. Nothing was mentioned to me, and paid my co pay. The PA performed the biopsy for me. She was fine. However my issue comes after the fact that nearly 2 months later I get a letter in the mail for a $300 bill? Not to mention after my biopsy, no word from the PA or doctor saw me, only an assistant with unknown credentials removed my stitches telling me it was benign. I was never contacted and told how to proceed with the skin growth, no medication prescription nothing. I was also NEVER informed about the cost of said procedure, and whether it was going to be an out of pocket cost. Extremely upset, I will be calling the clinic tomorrow and asking why I received a $300 bill I was never told about 2 months later. read more

I would like to preface this by saying in no way was I asked to do this by the office. This is of my own opinion with 0 incentive. It's a bummer to see these lengthy bad reviews because my experience was honestly the best doctors appointments to date. First let me say getting in the office was super fast and easy, I called made an appointment and was seen in a week. I currently pay out of pocket for medical care. The price was affordable in my opinion. 2nd- I came early to fill out paperwork the women their were kind and answered my questions in a personable manner. 3rd- When the pa came in she was sweet and willing to sit through a long list of issues that I had neglected. She took pictures and asked questions about my comfort. When Sarah came in she was great, talked to me like a human being and respected my concerns. She removed a troublesome mole with quickness and precision. We had a few laughs she wrote my prescriptions and even offered me a coupon if needed. Lastly- today was my first day in 3 months without the severe scalp issue I came in the office yesterday for. I'm so happy I could cry. So yeah definitely go if you need help. I went to Woll's office needing some sort of acne treatment as a woman in their mid 20s. I have previously came to Woll's office a couple years back and the service was great. I can say that it is great now. The staff there are very nice and friendly. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns with care because sometimes people in healthcare can downplay your concerns. My "care" at Dr. Woll's office was short-lived. Making my first appointment over the phone was handled poorly the front desk lady who blatantly assumed that my insurance was not accepted at their office without ever actually checking. I had to request her to take down my insurance type, which sounded like an inconvenience to her. She was mistaken and indeed, the office accepted my insurance. My first appointment was with Dr. Woll. Not a good experience, I couldn't even finish my sentence or make my point without her moving onto her next question. Eventually the doctor walked out to grab a second opinion from one of the PAs, then suddenly the PA took over the visit and provided the treatment plan. Even the PA could not find an excuse for why Dr. Woll walked out like that, but at least she acknowledge it was odd. So then turned out I was now under the care of the PA, which I didn't mind since the PA was a better experience. Who ever is responsible for handling pre-authorization forms for prescriptions does not follow through the process to ensure full completion. I believe this is the role of the med-tech. Long story short, I had waited approximately 6-7 weeks just to find out that my pre-authorization for my prescription was never completed for my insurance to review. I had to call my insurance to find out what was going on, which they let me know the pre-authorization was started but not completed within the 3 day window. I requested multiple call backs from the med-tech, I only received one call back which still did not solve this problem. Their unpleasant front desk lady, Lupe, is seriously the most unhelpful secretary I have encountered. She sounds so rude over the phone and lacks some serious phone etiquette. Between calling to figure out my prescription and consistently being led to nowhere, a few failed promises to receive a call back, Lupe could seriously care less about any problems that lies fault on the office end. In one phone call, the front desk lady Lupe was rude to me, was being short with me in her responses and was very limited with providing information over the phone. She was ill-mannered, so I asked for her name (she will rarely ever introduces herself via phone). She refused to tell me her name, then started to act like she couldn't hear me over the phone and hung up on me. I called back, and since then my calls would never be answered in that office again. The next day, I went to the front office to ask for her name, which she suddenly had no resistance to tell me, "Lupe." I also spoke with the office manager about the experiences I have been having with the secretary and difficulties with obtaining my prescription. The office manager did not say much about the problems that were going on, then she brought me the med-tech to speak with. The assistance pretty much ended there, still had no help. After that, I had two appointments canceled on me. My original appointment was in April, then it canceled on me. It was reschedule for the next available in May, then canceled without any explanation. Two consecutive cancelled appointments? Hmm. I noticed my phone calls using my personal number would no longer be answered. It was either never answered, answered then hung up on, or rarely, answered-placed on hold-then sent to voicemail. However, when I call using my husband's number, the phone calls are picked up without trouble. I called the office using my husband's number to inquire a treatment and cost. Again, Lupe said they do not give pricing over the phone. Aware that this could be true but given all my experiences with the front desk lady, I am at the point that I do not trust anything this lady says. I asked for a provider's email regarding the treatment inquiry to avoid dealing with her. Lupe refused to give me the provider's email address. I went to the office the next day to proceed my inquiry and asked to speak with the office manager because the desk lady is so useless. Office manager told me I can use the patient portal to contact my provider directly. This was new information to me, the front desk lady had never told me anything about the existence of a patient portal as a resource for patients, especially where I could contact the PA or possibly even the med-tech. I told the office manager that my calls are never answered, I'm either hung-up on or sent to voicemail. Lupe mentioned, "there are others who answer the phone,"- Yes, and? I can distinguish that distasteful voice. I told the office manager my appointments are being canceled, and that ultimately, I have not receiving the help I needed here. The office manager said, "you can go somewhere else." Which I replied, already am! Please discharge me as your patient. There you go folks, that's the culture you'll be walking into at Dr. Woll's office. They fail to do what they're literally suppose to do- to provide treatment and care. That front desk lady Lupe is unhelpful, rude and malicious. read more

It's been a few years since my family and I have been here. I had a severe allergy to nickel, at that time I didn't know, and would go to my PCP & all they'd prescribe me was Benadryl. Which would keep me sedated during school hours. I was referred to Dr Woll & she knew immediately what was going on. Received a cortisone shot & i haven't had a flare up ever since. Years and years later, my daughter had horrible eczema & Dr Woll was amazing at the skin care routine she suggested for my daughter. Repeatedly asked receptionist to verify our co-pay with Aetna which we paid at the conclusion of each visit yet we continued to get bills in the mail. This was personally brought to the attention of Woll and it was never corrected. My last annual full body check was a joke and I do hope there isn't anything on the half that wasn't given a once over. Oh and those billings? Last time it happened I left a testy message for the bookkeeper and although we'd been going there for years Woll told us to treat elsewhere. Find a better office folks. read more

The ladies in the front are SO sweet and very professional! My husband, my in laws, and I have been going here for years for wart removal and mole removals and will continue to do so. I went to see this Dermatologist initially for my back. I have had a dark & rough patch like skin on a large part of it & needed to find out what it is. I then was told i need biopsies which i had no one inform me of the charges or fees set by the office for it at any time. Me being a patient desperate for answer & gullible to agree. I then get no answers from that & on another appt got suckered into another biopsy for my scalp just to find out what i know already which is i have alopecia. All these charges added up & at no point is anyone informing of their fees that every office should have set for each procedure code. The billing dep't Christine says they charge different fees for different insurances and for cash patents so there's no idea what it could be!!!! Ive worked in the field & can't believe there is no transparency here for patients prior to agreeing to treatment advised. On top of that i have still no answers for what i initially went in for & nothing to treat the alopecia. What kind of dermatologist is this? Christine threatens collections real fast so I'm ready to fight it out with my insurance & lawyers if needed. I received a collection letter in the mail today because I have been sent to collection by Woll Dermatology. How ever they sent me the bill to pay which I filled out and sent the letter back with information to bill my FSA card when I did not receive a letter back for payment again I assumed they had processed my payment. This is horrible they are ruining my credit! The sad part about it is that I sent back the information for them to bill with timely matter and did not make a copy of it for my records. Anyone paying a bill I recommend making a copy or they will send you to collections like they sent me! read more

I reaaally don't understand the negative reviews. This is for the newly remodeled, Montclair office. My dad started going to the Dr Woll Dermatology facility years ago, when it was that small pink building on Central ave. He even loved them then. I've been to Dr Wolls facility a few times now, with two of those visits being biopsies. Dr Lambert is fantastic, she knows what she's talking about, she even let me call her personally to ask about my condition. She was very informative, my biopsies were clean and had no infection, hardly any scarring, despite my second biopsy being about an inch long. Dr Lambert is the main derm/pathologist and she's seriously awesome. She always makes me feel comfortable and gets to know me. My dad and brother have both worked with her and we all really like her. They even have an online portal detailing your visit, which was really cool. I'm actually going back in this Thursday, my last visit was only two months ago. I'm guessing the negative reviews here are because of Dr Woll (from what I can tell?) but most of the time you'll have Dr Lambert, I have all 3 times. The staff are accommodating and just doing their jobs, which they do well at. I can be seen quite quickly and I find I'm not waiting for long in the lobby. If you go to the Montclair office, call to make an appt and ask for Dr Lambert. That will absolutely change your mind. Just noticed all of the positive reviews are in the "do not recommend" section. Dr. Woll's office is shaking down people for money. They were trying to have me pay $50 for an office visit. I was shocked because I know my co-pay for me is usually only $10, anywhere I go(In network), and the last time I was here I only paid my usual co-pay. I laugh because someone else on here was concerned about paying $5 extra and they dipped because of it, and I'm on here like, "WTF, these B!*&%es were trying to hustle me for a total of $50!" The Doc must have had a bad year because she and here "ladies" are out for blood. They said they only charge this fee because,"it's the first three months of the year..." and some other bs. I called Bluecross, and they confirmed that they; indeed, were full of HORSE SHIT. Bluecross only needs, in my case, $10 bucks. Not a penny more. This office may require extra now for visits, but they make it seem like it's YOUR insurance that's "charging" more now. They are not telling you that you can actually go somewhere else and just pay your co-pay. I knew things were sketch because once they seen that I was actually about to take off, they were like,"...we can waive the fee..." Wow. It's sad because I felt the Doc was actually friendly, in person, and very caring. They should at least warn their patients of increasing fees, that way we are not wasting our time out of our busy schedules going down there. They care more about that skin on your wallet. read more

If you have the pleasure of working with Leslie as your doctor (maybe she's referred to as PA) you will have a wonderful experience. Working with the office is a different story, I felt pushed and flustered rather than guided and assisted. There is one gal that had quite a negative impact on my experience and made me want to leave right then (instead I called my husband and he calmed me down). I won't go into details and I don't know her story but she is not the best fit for helping patients. Back to Leslie, she put me completely at ease, was incredibly friendly/ reassuring, gave me more time and assistance than I expected/paid for and altogether made my initial experience pale in comparison. This review is strictly about the customer service, or lack there of. This is the second time I've called and have felt as if I was a bother for calling and asking questions. Christine, who answers the phones, has been extremely rude to me both of these times. When I called to make an appointment, she cut me off, and said my account was sent to collections. Mind you, I've NEVER received anything indicating I had a balance. Never received a phone call after I made the payment in full months prior. I don't know what type of business they are running in that office but this is unacceptable. I will now have to go back and review my insurance to make sure they haven't doubled billed being that people have posted reviews stating this has been their experience. Dr. Woll, I highly suggest you provide Christine some coaching/training as she is going to kill your business if she cannot communicate effectively with your patients. Unfortunately I left Dr. Woll's office due to lack of service. I believe I only saw Dr Woll twice over the course of a few years and generally only met with he PA Esther (which I heard now is no longer there). I also encountered a billing issue which I went through hell and back dealing with her office staff and my insurance. It resulted in me having to fax over diagnosis to my insurance department multiple times just because Dr Woll's office wrote a billing code that did not cover my insurance... Anyways, I was also misdiagnosed for a condition I had where 2 separate Dermatologists indicated it was something else. Every time I would see the PA, I would be in and out and was rarely asked to follow up. I just really felt that I was just another patient and did not really feel that I had a personable experience. I am not saying Dr. Woll is a bad Dermatologist (she is probably good seeing that she has 2 offices) but unfortunately I never saw her, only her PA's. read more

I was always struck by how sketchy this placed looked and felt, and now, five years after going to Dr. Woll, I've had to deal with the effects of their bad record-keeping. I was turned down for a student loan. When I ordered a credit report, I found out Dr. Woll's office had sent a $60 outstanding payment to a bill collection agency in early 2006. I called the office and the receptionist told me they had sent multiple letters to an address in Fontana, where I'd lived until the middle of 2005, and that none of the letters had been returned. What's messed-up about this: - I called the collection agency. The very first letter they sent to that address was returned immediately. - I had continued going to Dr. Woll through August 2006. No one ever mentioned an outstanding bill, and they had my real, current address on file. I got decent treatment at Dr. Woll's, but I caution anyone against dealing with them. read more

I went to her about 4 years ago with a small bump on my arm. Finds out it was a small wart . She said the only way was to laser it off and she did a horrible job and burned my skin . Now I can't wear sleeveless shirts because of her . I went to another dermatologist try to get rid of the scar and he was so surprised on why I didn't sue . She was never friendly just in and out. Didn't even talk about it or the procedure. I wasn't offered any other options . She also said I had to get the scar to get rid the wart of which is FALSE. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more
