I thought this office was good until I had to pay for my full visit. I put in a claim with my insurance so I could meet any deductible and they sent a check to this office in October (which should have billed my insurance from the beginning, they had all the information). The office sat on the check for approx. 2 months and only looked for it when I told them they got double paid for my visit. They all of a sudden found the check. Now I have been trying to get a refund of the money they owe me for over a month now and all I get is sent in circles. Over $200 isn't much but it's mine. The office doesn't return my calls, I go through to their billing department and they tell me someone will call me back that never does. I think I should start charging them interest and/or just show up to their office. Who does business like this! read more

This location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking available. It is surrounded by a beautiful environment and not so compacted like others. When you go inside it is a little "stuffy and cramped". There are so many chairs to sit for patients, but little space for stretching. The only amenities are magazines and air conditioning. The chairs are pretty comfortable, but I don't believe it is enoug I went here for an appointment and the recent yelp reviews were not joking. You do wait for an hour for your assigned appointment. I do not, I say do not come here. You are met by uncaring professionals for your time and money. I have met with a male/old/glasses wearing dermatologist in the past and all he cared about is about money. I did not care enough to remember his name and his care did not do anything. I just can't believe I had to wait for an hour for an appointment? I understand if it was a walk-in, but clearly their system is wack. They have so many nurses in the back and clearly overstaffed. I would NOT recommend this place! Extremely inefficient. I waited over 1 hour for my appointment for suture removal and to hear my test results. They are clearly unorganized and do not have enough staff for patients. I was at this office from 3:00 - 4:45....I should have been called in AT 3:00!? Not 4:15?! It's absolutely RIDICULOUS & RUDE to make patients wait over and hour for a scheduled appointment time. In addition, they didn't even have a copy of my test results ready. Really?! Super grateful, thankful and blessed to have an opportunity to be seen by Dr Gloria Stevens, she truly invests time with you and ensures she provides the best service as possible. My wife was hospitalized for 14 days for a severe "unknown" rash at Arrowhead Regional, which they have thought to be leukocytoclastic vasculitis but also my wife had other symptoms such as severe joint and stomach pain, so they did xrays, ct scans, endoscopy, colonoscopy and assumed it could be colitis or chrons (pending biopsy results) and the end of 14 days no treatment, and simply to be released without any solid news. The rash only became worse, and symptoms never resided. We ended up making an appointment to see Gloria Stevens which comes heavily recommended by other doctors within the San Antonio Regional Hospital, they said you must see Gloria, she's not your average dermatologist and has seen cases that your average dermatologist does not, so we trusted them, and came to see her. My wife was seen and biopsies were performed and sent same day to USC. She is very very talented, didn't look phased by any of this and was very confident when providing my wife care. We have an appointment again this Friday as a followup and we are pushing all past medical records to Gloria for review. Very helpful staff, very talented doctor, very organized, professional, sincere and caring. Highly recommended. read more

Dr. Stevens is an amazing doctor. My issue with this office has to do with the hypocrisy going on here. They are still requiring masks be worn by patients, that's fine. My problem is, the requirement is to help stop germs/ viruses from spreading right? Well, I walk into the office, and their employee who is greeting, and handling your insurance cards and payments, then handing them back to you, is wearing a mesh mask. I could clearly see her mouth through the large gaping holes in the mask. Now, I'm no doctor, but if viruses and germs can still maneuver their way through cotton, they can maneuver their way clearly out of her mouth through the holes in her mask, onto the surfaces around her, that we as patients touch, especially our own insurance cards and payments that are being handed back to us personally by this woman, and still infect those around her. I told the office I would put their provided mask on if they had their employee take her non protective mask off and wear one that does protect since after all, that's the key here right? To stop the spread? Needless to say, they did not have their employee put on a mask that does provide more protection and she continued to wear this mesh mask as I happily walked out of their office. The lady who was confronting me of this issue who also worked there, backed this up by stating " I did not say it had to be a protective surgical mask, I just said a covering." So, what's the point of even enforcing the mask in the first place and forcing your patients to wear one? I prefer my doctors offices and my money to go to places that make sense. If things are questionable from the time you step in to the office, then I do not trust the people who work there with mine, or my daughter's lives. I will not be coming back here unless something changes. read more

I live in LA and drive 90 minutes to see Dr. Stevens. I always have to wait a good hour after my appointment time to be seen. Once I waited as long as two hours. I do that because I think Dr. Stevens is very good. Recently, on my way from LA, I was running late myself. I called Dr. Stevens' office to ask how she was running and as usual, she was far behind. I was told to go ahead and check in for my 1pm appointment and then go out and get some lunch. In other words, this was going to be very a long wait. Then I was told something new: I would have a 15 minute grace period to arrive within my appointment time. I didn't imagine that would matter with Dr. Stevens running so far behind herself. Nonetheless I called again to let them know I'd get there a few minutes after the grace period. When I arrived I signed in at 1:20 for a 1:00 appt and then psyched myself to wait the usual hour or more for Dr. Stevens. The receptionist told me that because I signed in 5 minutes after the grace period I would lose my appt with Dr. Stevens. She said I could see another doctor, or else I'd have to schedule a different day with Dr. Stevens. It seemed she was trying to clear up Dr. Steven's schedule by funneling me to a less popular doctor. But the only reason I drive 90 minutes is specifically to see Dr. Stevens. I told the receptionist this appointment involved a three hour commute back and forth and that I had planned my whole day around it. Her response: "People come from Alaska to see Dr. Stevens." I told her I hadn't heard about the grace period policy before. Her response: "Every doctor's office has the same policy." (They don't) It didn't matter that Dr. Stevens was running far behind and my being late would not impact her schedule. Nor, that I had called twice from the road to let them know I was running behind. I've been a patient of Dr. Stevens for 15 years. That's not how you treat a stranger, much less someone with you whom you have a long term professional relationship. Dr. Stevens, I hope you read this. I appreciate that you're trying to do something about the long waits your patients endure. If the point is to get your office running more on schedule, doesn't it make sense to inform patients about the grace period policy beforehand? Given how many years I've been your patient and the hours I spent in your waiting room, I have to think it's your scheduling department, not your patients, that causes the long waits. One more thing. I know passive-aggressive behavior when I see it. That's what I experienced from your receptionist. You're a terrific dermatologist. But this experience has finally gotten me to seek a new one closer to where I live. read more

Dr. Stevens has been my wonderful dermatologist for 20 years. Recently, a tiny, pea-sized growth on my left wrist Dr. Stevens removed, a biopsy performed, and it was the most rare of all lethal carcinoid cancers - Merkel Cell. This cancer is worse than any Melanoma and has a huge death rate - HUGE!! It was early and after a massive effort by City of Hope, a fabulous plastic surgeon, pathologists at Loma Linda, and Dr. Stevens, I am cancer free!!! Thank you, Dr. Stevens for saving my life - LITERALLY!! Any person living in California, should absolutely see Dr. Stevens a minimum of twice a year if you want to live a long, healthy, skin-cancer free life. read more

This office always overbook the appointments so the waiting room is usually packed and you are never seen during your scheduled time (you might be waiting for an hour). The front office staff is competent, but I suppose since things are always so busy, they also lean on the unfriendly side. The several visits I had involved first seeing a nurse, then talking to a young doctor who seemed to be in training (Dr. Shahsavari sp?), then after waiting some more, one of the two senior doctors (they're a married couple). Dr. Shahsavari is such a sweet person with excellent bedside manner and took the time to get to know me and answer any medical questions I had. The senior doctors, though they dispense accurate medical advice, just look your skin over for a few seconds, then tell the junior doctor what it is and what prescriptions to write up. You barely have any interaction with Dr. Stevens or Dr. Liskanich at all, and they rush off to the next patient before you can ask them any questions. I would avoid this office. It's obvious they care more about making money than respecting their patients' time. I have a new dermatologist now: I was seen on time, the office staff was friendly, and my doctor was patient and thorough in answering any questions I had with my prescriptions or managing my skin condition. Moreover, at Dr. Stevens and Liskanich's office, you can only get a refill of your prescription within six months of your last visit; at my new office, I have a full year. read more

As a business owner myself, I do not like to give other businesses a bad review or 1 star, because I know how much work and effort is required to run a business. But the appointment system is not working for this office - it's irrelevant. I arrived on time for my 2:45pm appointment today 07/14/15 and it is 4pm and I am still sitting in the lobby waiting. During my wait, all I heard was the receptionist talking about their personal lives, placing Starbucks orders with the sales reps that come in and not once do they stand up to make sure the list is correct, to ask the clients if they need help with their paperwork or to assure that the appointments are on time. At 4:00pm I got up to see how much longer it was going to be, the 3 receptionist scatter to look for my file and all 3 just look at one another. Dr. Stevens is very sweet and professional, but the appointments and wait times are not acceptable. I rescheduled three of my own client appointments to make it here on time and I had to leave in order to make it to my 5:30pm in Los Angeles, because I don't like to make my clients wait, because their time is valuable too. read more

Unlike other dermatologists I have seen, she takes the time to explain the purpose of each medication or treatment she prescribes. Dr Stevens is absolutely worth the wait. I have super sensitive skin, eczema, acne, scalp issues and dark spots/acne scars that I have struggled with all my life. Dr Stevens had literally turned everything around in a couple of weeks. I did have to wait, not gonna lie, but she spent every minute with me to treat my issues and the results are amazing. My skin feels better, my back scars are lightening, my skin feels less irritated and redness had improved so much. Each issue is under control, or 75% improved since seeing her. She takes her time with patients and treats them well. I highly recommend her, especially if you have skin issues you haven't been able to treat. read more

This office is highly unsafe, openly disdains any efforts to maintain safe practices in the time of COVOD-19, and knowingly and consistently wastes thousands of hours of patient time each year. Patients deserve better and need to let the doctors know by demanding that the office treat them with respect. Or, the medical licensing board needs to step in and enforce patient care. Patients, and the receptionist, deserve so much better. Dr. Stephens may be a good dermatologist, but people are not sheep, and should not act or be treated like sheep. The office practices are callous and inconsiderate of patients. I made an appointment to see Dr. Pham, another practitioner in that office. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. The waiting area was about 10 feet by 10 feet. There were 5 people waiting, wearing masks, but 4 were seated two feet apart at most, one standing against the wall because the other chairs had been moved to the wall, backs to the center of the room, to prevent patients from coming as close to the receptionist window as they were to each other. All the patients were in their 60s or older. The air was stale, the room was uncomfortably warm, and 2 waiting patients were talking animatedly. I went to check in and asked about the wait. After hemming and hawing a bit the receptionist told me the wait might be "as little as an hour" as my doctor had only 2 patients in front of me in addition to the 1 in her office. I asked her if I could reschedule at a less crowded time and she told me that I was there at the best time, as Dr. Stephens was not there that day and her patients generally had to wait at least 2 hours. The arrogance and danger of this regular protocol is shocking. If the wait is usually 2 hours, there are obviously serious problems with the way her appointments are scheduled. If each patient has to wait 2 hours, and there are 16 patients per day that have to wait that long, that adds up to 160 hours of wasted patient time every week, 8000 hours per year, and that is only 1 doctor. Multiply that by the number of doctors in the office. The waste of patient time, when the office knows full well that both the way they schedule and the way the doctors practice causes these regular waits, is both arrogant and selfish. Now COVID-19 has made the way these doctors practice a real danger. I am shocked that anyone in the medical profession would be so disdainful of the health and well-being, as well of the personal time, of their patients. Needless to say, I will not trust my health to such a group of doctors, and I can only hope that others will wake up to the danger and have the self-respect and courage to do what I did. I turned to the others waiting, said "This is not safe." I walked out. read more

Dr. Liskanich has proceeded to stop treating me due to the fact that I left a bad Yelp review. He told me to remove the review & when I refused he stated he isn't going to refill my prescriptions. He later went on to say it's because I haven't come in to see him, which would be understandable but before I left the review he was refilling my prescriptions without seeing me for months & it was no problem...so it's clear that he is refusing treatment due to a Yelp review. For him a Yelp review is more important than treating a patient in need that has spent A LOT of money at this office. It's just so unprofessional & overall bad medicine. read more

The wait time is ridiculous. I have taken my mother there 3 times. Every time it's an hour and a half in the waiting room and another hour in the exam room. The last time we were there, she didn't have enough time to Finish the exam. This was a scheduled appointment for a Full Body exam. She said to schedule another appointment to do the last half of the exam. We did. It's a 45 minute drive, one way, to get there. On our way to the appointment we were delayed because of construction. I called to let them know that we are sitting in traffic and we will be late. The person at the front desk said if you're 15 minutes late then you have to reschedule. They would not see my mother. After All the ridiculous time we have to WAIT on her they wouldn't give her patient the same respect. We will never go back. read more
