I had been seeing Dr. Griffith for a few years & really like him a lot. When I showed up for my last appointment I was told that they had left me a voice mail 2 weeks prior cancelling my appointment because they no longer accepted my medical group. I hadn't recalled any type of voice mail & looked at my phone log. No voice mail nor any missed call from their office & I told her so. She tried to change the subject. I told her I had taken the afternoon off work to come in & it would have been nice to have been given notice. She tried saying again that they left me a voice mail. "No, you didn't!" I tried hard to keep myself in check. I couldn't believe it! Several months prior my husband went in for his biopsy (2nd appt) just to be told that they didn't have an authorization for the procedure so it was pointless for him to be there. He had also taken the afternoon off to have his appointment. The doctor told him he wouldn't be charged for the visit & he rescheduled & had to take another afternoon off to get the procedure. A few months later my husband received a bill for the pointless appointment. It took several phone calls to take care of it. I thought the poor service my husband received was just a fluke until I experienced the incompetence myself. Too bad - Dr. Griffith is a good doctor. Dr Jack Griffith, dermatologist, and his staff are the most courteous and professional that I've experienced in my lifetime. First, his patient to doctor communication is very personable, and his deep concern for the individual's health in his office is primary. Second, when you need to get an appointment for an emergency consultation and treatment the accommodation is made with quick turnaround time. Third, painless medical procedures and interventions are Dr. Griffith's specialty to reduce the fear of the various treatments possible to mitigate the issue at hand. Unlike Kaiser Dermatology, you are always able to secure Dr. Griffith for treatment and not be a victim to the Heinz 57 of doctors you don't want to hear invariably say, "Sorry, we'll just look at this suspect mole and see me again in 5 months." Treatment is always assured with Dr. Griffith, not lip service for non-performance of necessary and needed procedures. Run, don't walk, to Dr Griffith for the best dermatologist in southern California. He is very efficient, kind, and attentive to signs of skin cancer and treatment. He also works with my rosacea. I've been going to him for many years and highly respect him. He also has worked at an ER so has much extensive knowledge. He takes the CA work comp insurance which is rare. read more

His staff is unprofessional and inefficient. They leave you on the phone on hold for 45 minutes without ever checking up on you and letting you know what's going on. You cannot get a hold of the Office Manager. She's always busy will not be going to this dermatologist, I will be telling all my friends and family about their lack of professionalism Would not recommend this to anyone. read more

This doctor is OK. I'd say more 2.5 stars than 3. He is very expensive, and this is WITH good insurance. He did a peripheral check. Him/his staff never called in the rx they said they would. I didn't bother following up, as it wasn't urgent. They do the standard "We won't call you if the biospy is OK" approach. Just a heads up. I don't have any ongoing dermatological needs at this time. If I did, I think I'd rather find another doctor. read more

I've been to Dr Griffith several times, but after my experience today I will not be going back. After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes I was told they were "running behind today". Several other patients in the waiting room were experiencing the same frustration with the front desk person. She had no answers and zero concern for anyone's time. I finally asked her if she had any idea of when I might be seen and she said "no". When I told her to cancel my appointment and throw my chart in the trash she didn't say a word. Apparently a common event at that office?? No apology whatsoever is what really got me. read more

Not happy at all. Came here for the very first time based on 4.5 star reviews on Yelp. Came in to check on eczema on my leg that has been bothering me for more than ten years. Dr. was SUPER nice, checked out my leg and said that he was going to inject the area with a medication that would take away the itching for about six months. Gave me a total of THREE injections by pricking the area many times, about 20 times total and it was very painful. He spent only about 10 minutes with me but I felt satisfied with the service. I came home hoping to start feeling relief soon but nothing happened, intead, I developed a horrible rash in different parts of my body. I had assumed erroneously that the rash was caused MAYBE by a new bra that I wore, because it started on my left breast but I discontinued the use of the bra inmediately and the rash just continued to spread everywhere in my body. The itching was horrendous 24/7 and nothing would make it stop. Three weeks later after my first appt I went back to the doctor but this time I was seen by the PA. Super nice lady, also. Checked me out, told me that I had a very "angry rash", checked my skin and told me she would give me an injection that would take care of the rash in one week. She explained to me that it was a sistemic medication and that meant that it would stay in my system for about six weeks. I asked what was the name of the medication and she said: KENALOG 40.I asked the PA what kind of medication Dr. Griffith had injected on my leg three weeks earlier and she said KENALOG. When I asked how much the dr had given me during that first visit she said that all three injections combined would account for about ONE gram of medication. With a name on hand, I dedided to google this medication and to my dismay I found a whole bunch of negative side effects, which I have been experiencing severely! Among them is a rash all over your body, missed period, sweats and flushing, terrible headaches, blurred vision just to name a few. There are tons and tons of websites that share hundreds if not thousands of people's terrible experience with this medication. I understand than every medicine brings its list of side effects but I also wish that doctors would be ethical enough to explain these side effects so that we could make a more informed decision. If I would have known all the side effects, I would have NEVER said yes to this treatment. read more

I filed a lawsuit against him the only reason he won is the statute of limitations had expired. He actually lied several times on records given to another doctor that were presented in court. I am considering filing a full lawsuit. read more

This review is in regards to the level of service Lory the employee whose job is to book appointments and check you out after you have seen the doctor. If the doctor's in this office provided the same level of horrible and rude service that Lory provides, they wouldn't be in business or would I be returning for our next visit. I am writing this so not only you can benefit from it but in hopes that Dr. Griffith and Monique the office manager will read this review and coach Lory on the proper way to deliver a great customer experience. This is not the first time I have tolerated her behavior. On another occasion, she rudely insisted that my daughter's appointment was at 2 PM when I had the appointment card in my hand with a 3 PM appointment time stated on it. I am a pretty understanding individual and get that working in the medical field for the last 2 years has been hard; however, I don't deserve to be treated poorly because you've either had a bad day or you hate your job. Don't work in an industry that deals with people if you're not a people person. Again, if it weren't for the doctor's that have treated my entire family and their excellent customer experience, I would have left long ago. read more

Dr. Griffith and his PA Angela and the entire staff are fantastic. Not only did they deal quickly and appropriately with the nose issue I came in for, but the offered a full-body check (no other dermatologist has ever done this) and actually found a problem on my back, which (since I am a widow) no one would ever have seen. It turned out to be melanoma and luckily they were able to fully excise it. (It was getting serious, so they actually saved my life) They also biopsied other suspicious bits, which were OK. When I had nurses at another medical facility nearer my home change the dressing daily, they commented on the skillful stitches. When I went back to Dr. Griffith to have the stitches taken out, this was done by PA Angela, -- very gently. I also had noticed some itching and rashes (I assumed these were contact from gardening) and asked her to look at them. To my surprise, she told me it was shingles -- I had had the vaccine, which is why it was only minor, but still quite annoying. By then it was on the mend. She prescribed a cortisone cream for the itching and an anti-viral in case it came back, and said if it did come back, to just come in immediately (no appointment necessary) and tell them it is an emergency and she or Dr. Griffith will see me. I cannot recommend them highly enough! I have been to other dermatologists who have all been unpleasant, uncaring, missed crucial things and/or had horrible staffs. I am so happy and relieved to have found Dr. Griffith. read more

I saw Dr Griffith because I kept getting hives. I give him 5 stars because it did not take forever to get an appt with him. The wait in the lobby did not take forever. The staff was very friendly and when I finally saw him he was friendly and caring. He listened to all my concerns and put my mind at ease. He was compassionate, very knowledgeable and professional.
