Unfortunately, because the growth protruded out, I would occasionally bite it while eating, which caused it to get larger. My dentist recommended having it removed before it became worse, and I'm so glad I was referred to Huntington Oral Surgery & Implant Center. Dr. Neimann was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and informative. He took the time to clearly explain the removal procedure, what to expect, and the healing process, while being completely transparent throughout. The entire staff was professional, understanding, and knowledgeable. The removal itself was quick and painless since they properly numbed the area, and my recovery was surprisingly fast. Aftercare was also very thoughtful--they sent me home with a bag of gauze (which I didn't end up needing), an ice pack (a fantastic idea since I didn't have to go get one), and chapstick. They also provided Dr. Niemann's personal mobile number in case any issues or questions arose after hours, which gave me a lot of peace of mind during recovery. I had a great experience from start to finish and would definitely recommend Huntington Oral Surgery & Implant Center for any oral surgery needs, whether it's wisdom teeth removal, implants, or, in my case, removing a fibroma. Then the dentist came in and told me my prior dentist is no longer there. First, I heard of it. I advocated for a less aggressive approach. No one was listening except my new friend Zach! I switch the hygienist right away cause it was just another job for her and to be perfectly honest she didn't even exam my teeth herself. Be careful who you choose. The dentist who I just met was nice but I was not happy that a diagnosis was recommended without personally examining my teeth!

I was excited to return to this office after being told I could be seen sooner. Before accepting…read morethe earlier appointment, I had been told my insurance covered my visit and that I wouldn't have a copay. After I accepted the new appointment, I was then informed that I would need to pay $50 because of a missed appointment from 2020. The $50 was repeatedly referred to as a "copay," but I had to point out that it wasn't actually a copay through my insurance--it was a missed appointment fee based on the office's policy. That distinction matters because a copay and an office policy fee are not the same thing. I explained that the missed appointment occurred during the COVID period and asked if they would consider waiving the fee as a one-time courtesy since I was returning as a patient after several years. They declined. My concern isn't the $50 itself--it's the way the information was communicated. I believe patients should be clearly informed of any outstanding office policy fees before they commit to an appointment, and those fees should be described accurately rather than being referred to as insurance copays.

But after a full year with no complications whatsoever, I can very confidently say that Dr. Chan is an amazing oromaxillary surgeon. I was referred to Dr. Chan by my dentist for extraction of all 4 of my wisdom teeth. When I went to the office, the staff were very pleasant. Dr. Chan had amazing bedside manner. Many physicians and dentists can be very strict and intimidating when it comes to healthcare, and I was definitely nervous as I haven't been taking very good care of my teeth. But Dr. Chan was incredibly supportive. He was objective, told me what he needed to, and explained all the risks/benefits/alternatives in great detail. Any surgery has a potential risk of side effects and complications, and wisdom teeth extraction is no different. I had read about the most common complications of wisdom teeth extraction (e.g. dry socket, swelling, pain), and I was definitely a bit scared. But I knew, for the long term well being of my teeth, this was a necessary procedure. On the day of the procedure itself, my mom was my designated driver, as I would be under moderate sedation with Versed. The nurse who started my IV was very nice, she also put a blanket on me as I felt a bit cold in the office. Dr. Chan was very nice also. Once I got the IV push of Versed I was completely out, and then I woke up with gauze in my mouth and an ice pack wrapped around my jaw. I had no swelling, no dry socket, and minimal pain that was easily controlled with Tylenol. Some of my colleagues said it didn't even look like I had any surgery done. As someone who is on the older side to get this procedure, to recover in such a straightforward manner is just proof of Dr. Chan's technique. I would highly recommend Dr. Chan to anyone needing wisdom tooth extraction. He has great bedside manner and I had no complications from having all 4 wisdom teeth removed.

It was only $79 as a package, others were asking $150-350. They also do implants, so I'll be making my appointment for a consultation very soon. I hope their prices are similarly, relatively good.
