I cannot begin to tell you how much I absolutely hate going to the dentist. The childhood trauma, the very real pain and discomfort associated with all things oral health, and more...I'm sure I can't be the only one, right? On that note, I've been going to Dr. Atacador for years now, despite her not being the closest or most convenient dentist for me. She's just that good! Her office is small, clean, and she and her staff are very friendly and patient. They deal tactfully with fearful and nervous patients like me, to the point where even long-overdue wisdom teeth extractions aren't "that horrible" and routine activities like cleanings and x-rays are almost...comfortable? Plus, you can't beat all the free floss, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Perfect for traveling! I've had several different dental insurance plans over the years I've been seeing her, and can verify that she accepts GEHA, Aetna, and MetLife, but double check with her to ensure that she is covered by your individual dental plan. So overall: -The good: As far as dentists and staff go, this office can't be beat. They are flexible, kind, patient, and caring. They won't overcharge you or recommend unnecessary work to be done unless you absolutely need it! Plenty of free parking, and they are open on the weekend! Call ahead to ensure availability! -The bad: It's still going to the dentist! If you don't like going, it'll still be tough, but I promise you they will try their best to make sure you're comfortable. -The ugly: I did 4 wisdom tooth extractions and was awake for the procedures. No laughing gas here--only local anesthetic! Ahh! Never want to experience that again, and luckily I'll never have to! read more

I've been coming to Dr. Atacador for years now. Mind you there are plenty of other dentists around the San Fernando valley but the reason why I drive out 30/35 to see her is because she truly is that great, so is the staff. Dr. Atacador doesn't try to upsell you like many practices do, she doesn't recommend any work done that's not needed and only the things that do. She's so caring and gentle and truly cares about her patients. The best part she's opened on Saturday and Sundays which is a huge blessing considering I work Mon-Fri. Keep in mind though since she's opened on the weekends her office is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But, I always recommend her to my friends and family and wouldn't do that unless I didn't think she was that great. read more

Dr. Atacador and staff are incredible. I had a dental emergency and they attended me, were very polite and solved my issue. Sooooo glad I found them on Yelp and were open on a Saturday!! They are open Sundays too, which is soooo rare. They are closed Monday and Tuesday (by appt only), but dental emergencies of course happen on a Friday night or weekends when everything is closed. Very friendly staff, comfortable (if somewhat small) waiting room, ample parking, easy access via the 210 freeway. Also, she is very friendly and gives you personal attention. But the most important observation is that she is meticulous with cleanliness - of the dental chair, of the bathroom, and of the dental tools themselves which are sterilized on site. (That's why you may hear random gurgling sounds - it's the sterilizing machine at work). Have been coming to this practice for almost two years now. I could not be happier with Dr. Atacador's work. A coworker recommended her to me, and every experience I've had with her and her staff were great. The equipment is clean, and everyone is extremely friendly. Plus, they are open weekends! Amazing! After seeing her for regular cleanings and fillings for about a year, I mentioned my interest in invisalign to fix some spacing issues. She urged me to skip the months of plastic trays and let her put crowns on my existing teeth. She immediately gave me a whitening kit, and a week later, I came in for the first of 2 major appointments: one to grind down my teeth and attach temporary veneers, and one to remove those temporaries, and replace them with the porcelain crowns. The teeth grinding made me a little nervous, but only because there is no turning back after that. She made sure this part was painless, and molded a temporary mouthpiece to cover up my newly ground-down teeth. The temporary looked more amazing than I could've imagined. Afterwards, she sent off molds of my mouth to an outside company that makes the porcelain crowns. When they came 2 weeks later, they looked good, but she sent them back to ensure they would look absolutely PERFECT. I greatly appreciated how much she cared about getting them just right; like it was her own mouth. Her investment in her patients and commitment to quality is unreal. The appointment to cement in my crowns was quick and easy. In the end, I got the perfect smile that I never thought I would have, and I owe it all to Dr. Atacador. Without her amazing advice and talent, I would have had my tiny little gap teeth forever. Now I feel beautiful, inside and out. I am very pleased to announce that after several years of substandard care, work, and pricing that made me hate seeing the dentist. What an amazing experience. I brought in my nephew for emergency care due to unbearable tooth pain around lunch time and Dr Atacador performed a root canal on a Superbowl Sunday! She makes you feel like family, as well as the young man who was working at the front desk. Very pleasant, energetic, competent , nice and clean facility and I personally will be back for check ups. I wanted to walk over to the gourmet coffee shop and visit the Target down the street, but was informed the wait would be very short. Ever heard of tipping your dentist? I have a permanent retainer on my lower teeth and it came loose on one side. At first it was a minor annoyance but soon escalated into pain. Imagine having a needle in your mouth poking your tongue when you try to talk or eat. Not fun. Because of my work schedule, I tried going to a different dentist in Orange County but ended up having to cancel the appointment because the very intelligent city planners decided that having 2 streets with the exact same name and address numbers in the same county was a good idea. There's a West Chapman Ave with identical street numbers both in the city of Orange and Fullerton. I was supposed to go to Fullerton; guess where my GPS took me? The next morning, I took a shot in the dark and called this dental office in Pasadena looking for a same day appointment. I expected them to tell me that they were booked since I imagine they get very busy on Sundays. I give them my name and tell them my issue, and Leo, the kind gentleman working the phone that day, tells me he remembers me and that he has an open slot in the next 30 minutes. I'm surprised he remembers me since I've only been to their office maybe once or twice a couple years ago. Studies have shown that people remember not so much an unfamiliar person, but an aspect of that person. What he most likely remembered about me was that I dread going to dentist. I'd rather have my eyes pried open and forced to watch weird stuff à la Clockwork Orange. I've never minded getting shots at the hospital, but the ideas of needles and drills going into my gums, which have always been sensitive and prone to excessive bleeding, never excited me. A painless trip to the dentist made as much sense to me as a boring skydiving jump or a fun Maroon 5 concert. Whether it's because my gums are sensitive or I have a low pain tolerance, I don't know but it's always a very unpleasant experience for me. Anyway, I get there, and Leo, who is great at his job and affable despite having to work on the Sabbath day (I'm bitter and resentful when I have to work on Saturdays so I get it), seats me, they fix my issue and bill me $30. They saved me from possibly multiple days of pain and discomfort so I ask them to please charge me $50. They oblige and I'm in and out in 10 minutes. Thank you! read more

They get a 4 stars just for opening on Sunday. If you are very busy with work and dont have time for anything and your only days off are on Sunday , you are definitely screwed. Lucky for me i was yelping around to find dentist that are open on Sunday , and i came around this place. Had an appointment at 11, showed up on the dot and they were able to assist me right away. Getting a check up I sure hope I don't have a cavity...ok tell me what other dentist do you know that works on Sundays to accommodate her patients schedules? Not too many but Dr. Yasmin is just one of the few doctors that really does go above and beyond to care for her patients. On the weekend of August 7th and 8th 2015 .. I jerry Avalos was experiencing horrendous pain I called duarte family dentistry advised them that I had a emergency situation ! on a Friday early evening late afternoon that I would have to have my tooth pulled a wisdom tooth to be exact .I was suffering from excruciating pain they told me to go ahead and come on in. and they would take care of me as soon as they would finish their last two patients. I go in to be told after waiting 45 minutes in their tacky filthy office that the doctor will not be able to pull or extract my tooth because he hadn't eaten yet!!! I told ESTHER. THE DUNGEONS QUEEN.SHE RUNS THE SHOW. that was a personal problem why did they have me go in and waste my time when I had time still enough to find another dentist .I LEFT any Now Friday turned into Saturday morning 12 a.m. in the morning to be exact and I was hitting the walls with my head. and with so much pain I remembered a young lady at a Kaiser hospital nearby told me about Dr atacador. I came upon Dr Atacador's office by chance because of excruciating tooth pain on a Sunday morning(one of the few offices open on weekends!). I left work and went straight there after calling. That first visit was incredibly lucky because she is the best dentist I've ever been to. It's obvious she really cares about her patients and her staff is just as awesome! I now drive there from san dimas on a regular basis even though there are probably more than 100 dentists that are closer to my house. I've been in for 15-20 visits in the last year and a half and I couldn't have asked for a better experience(other than maybe to not have so many tooth problems in then first place, oops!). Booking an appointment is simple and parking is easy (and free, which isn't always the case in Pasadena!) Dr. Atacador did a wonderful job!! My tooth cracked a few weeks ago and I been dreading to go to the dentist. My only days off are the weekends so I had to find an office that was open. I found her on yelp and decided to give her a try. Best decision of my life! I had to take part of my tooth out due to the fact it was severely crack. Dr. Atacador quickly extracted the broken piece and put a temporary crown. After all was done she gave me her cell number and said if I experience any pain or discomfort to please call her immediately and she would meet me at the office to fix it.
