I've been a Prime Med patient since 2007. I welcome this alternative to receive medical attention…read moreoutside of the PeaceHealth system. Until last year I didn't have any health insurance so I had to pay cash. I appreciated their cash discount and the samples really helped stretch my limited income. PA Will Vogel is my favorite among the staff. I respect his 25+ years of experience and love his "country doctor-style." He *always* takes the time needed to hear my concerns, conduct an examination of the problem, and provide a helpful down-to-earth layperson's explanation of what is wrong and how to make me better. My wait times in the past have been long, especially as a walk-in, however last week I was a walk-in my wait time was only 15 minutes. When I'm sick I'm kinda grumpy as most people generally are. I loved Grant, the nurse who checked me in and took my vitals. He was attentive to my needs and made some humorous quips that put a smile on my face and made me laugh. The shortage of doctors today results in a high number of patients to be seen each day. There are so many variables in diagnosing symptoms that, regardless of what clinic you go to, there will be a chance of a misdiagnosis with the pressure to see all the patients in the waiting room and trying to toe the bottom line of skyrocketing malpractice insurance and cost of healthcare services. My grandmother told me that no matter how hard life gets, maintaining an attitude of gratitude makes it much easier to get through stressful situations. I'm grateful for the Prime Med Clinic and its staff.

FINANCIAL WARNING. I went to urgent care and a few months later, I received a bill that was a large…read moredollar amount. Went to balance my bills and went to pay best med. I checked to see if I could pay the bill partially. The system allowed me to. In less than a week from paying that part, I got a notification on the weekend saying they will take the rest on Monday, which was a holiday. I never clicked a button for my debit card to be saved. When I logged back online to see if I could stop it, I couldn't get back in to the site. I went to the bank Tuesday and my bank could not do anything about it. Some people, like I have, live check to check. This time luckily, I had enough to have it paid, but that took away money for food and gas. For a family whose money is tight, it could have been devastating.

To be frank, although I love unique…read more& quirky people, I am not used to interacting with doctors who are quirky, and I was a bit nervous in the beginning. He tells a lot of long-winded stories & anecdotes. One must concentrate, be assertive to interrupt for questions, & be willing to follow him along the journey. LOL However, he is the only individual in Eugene to treat my frozen shoulder from an "outside-the-box" way of thinking, & quite bluntly, I believe the man to be a bit of a genius. I had struggled with frozen shoulder since March 2020. I didn't meet Dr. Etges until November later that year, so I struggled in EXTREME pain for 9 months! A visit to Slocum was defeating--detached attitude from dr., "told that it will eventually go away in 2 years, "and given a steroid shot which didn't help at all. Dr. Etges gave me 2 prolotherapy cocktail shots a month apart (a special mix which he can explain), and made suggestions to my PT for specific stretches. One month later, I had regained 90% of my shoulder movement and now Feb, 2021, I am at full recovery. A friend who is doing PT alone for frozen shoulder is still in a great amount of pain. I am convinced that Dr. Etges' prolotherapy cocktails sped up my recovery in a remarkable way. It is still very important to do PT, but if you suffer from frozen shoulder, it is worth exploring his specific kind of prolotherapy mix.
