Mine was slopped onto the plate, with mashed potatoes smeared on the side and the sauce dripped on sides of the inside of the rimmed plate. The potatoes looked congealed, like they had been sitting out, and they had, because the food was cold. I asked for it to be heated up, and I'm fairly convinced they microwaved it, because the plate was warm, but the food still wasn't. The steak was extremely salty, potatoes gluely, and the broccolini was bitter and woefully under seasoned. My husband offered to switch plates. He has the pasta, which was also not very good, but at least it was hot. The description said andouille sausage, but it was clearly kielbasa, and the sauce was greasy and separated. Who hired these so-called chefs? Where did they get their degree? Do they even have one? We go out to eat so rarely. I'm a fantastic cook myself, so when we go out, we want the food we order to be better than what I can make at home. Especially at $30 a plate. So, alas, they get 2 stars, for the excellent service, the delicious oysters, and the beautiful ambiance. They apologized profusely and took my horrible dinner off our bill. We are so grateful for that. We will be back for a pretzel. And more oysters.

The salad bar for lunch was already set up, but there wasn't anybody in that area of the dining room. The breakfast menu is standard, and one item could be ordered as a skillet or a scramble depending on how you wanted your eggs. I opted for the skillet. It was an unusual skillet in that the bacon was really bacon crumbles. Nothing wrong with that, but it made it very hard to tell the difference between the bacon and the potatoes, which were small and nearly the same color. Overall, it did not look appetizing. There was a lot of food, but it was monochromatic with the eggs the only color, everything else was dark brown. I was hesitant. Fortunately, it tasted much better than it looked. The bacon crumbles were crispy enough to give some texture and the potatoes. some crispy, some not, were a middle point between the bacon and the eggs. While it tasted fine, maybe it wasn't the best thing to order, or the best time of day to order it. I suspect this place isn't used to having customers in the late morning. Oddly, there was no-one in the casino section so am not sure why there wasn't any attention given to the details. One thing -- does the only TV in the restaurant have to be on the 24-hour "need legal help" infomercial looping the same 15-minute segment? Takeaway: don't come here alone or without something to read.

Both serve AMAZING prime rib. But tonight we thought, "You know what? Let's branch out. Let's try the Windmill again! It was GREAT a few years ago!" That was our first mistake. We didn't have reservations and they were packed, so we sat in a booth on the bar side. Fair enough. Busy restaurant, Saturday night vibes, whatever. We can be patient. Ten minutes go by before we get WATER. Another ten minutes before anyone comes over to take our drink and food order. Then we wait. And wait. And WAIT. Nearly an HOUR later, our food finally arrived. At this point I assumed they had gone out back, located the cow, negotiated the terms of its surrender, processed it, and THEN started cooking our dinner. Surely after an hour, this prime rib was going to absolutely SLAP. Friends. It did not slap. It barely tapped. I ordered the prime rib, but what arrived tasted like a ham steak wearing a fake mustache trying to sneak into the beef section. The texture was bizarre. The flavor was bizarre. The entire thing was having an identity crisis. I kept looking at it like, "Sir... are you SURE you're prime rib?" Meanwhile, my son ordered the "Prime Top Cut Sirloin." Apparently "top cut" means they launch it directly into the sun and wait for it to return. That poor steak was BURNT on the outside and tough. I'm pretty sure if we'd had another 20 minutes, we could've attached a handle to it and used it as a cutting board. Look, I understand busy restaurants. I understand slow service. I understand kitchens getting backed up. But after nearly an hour, I expected a prime rib so magnificent that angels would descend from Heaven carrying au jus. Whatever happened tonight was an entirely different cinematic universe. Prime rib: currently experiencing an identity crisis. Sirloin: cremated.
