Went here based on the proximity to my home. I came right when they opened at 8am, so there was a very low volume of people coming in and out at first. The atmosphere was very quiet, I was able to take a couple of work meetings while waiting for my clothes to finish. The ladies attending the place were kind and very attentive. The machines were clean and reliable, overall a pretty good little laundromat... the only downside is they do not offer WiFi and it feels a touch outdated. Prices were average of other laundromats. This is my favorite laundromat by far and I'll tell you why! This place isn't flashy, the tile on the floor is cracked, there's paneling on the walls and the furniture is from the 70's *but*, it's safe, no one bothers you, the staff is super nice and you're able to do your laundry in peace!! Prices vary a little based on what machines you use but for a standard wash it's $2.25 and dry is $1.50 for 45 minutes. They have a change machine and vending machines for snacks, soda and laundry products. They also offer drop off service, which I've used and is great but they're cash or check only, so bring the ole check book if you still have one. ;) Last load is at 7:30 pm and they close at 9. Stop by and catch a re-run of Frazier while you throw in a load. :) read more

I went here to wash a large bed covering. They had a large commercial washer that did an amazing job. Cost me 5.75 because I did prewash and extra spin. The large dryer was .25/10 min. My cover was mostly dry in 60 mins. Only a handful of people in there on a Mon mid day. Machines take quarters and the change machine was working fine. The furniture and decor is very 70's so I felt like I was hanging out my childhood home. Clean and well lit. Would recommend if you have a lot or a little to wash. read more

Went here for the first time recently. Prices are average-ish? $2.50 to wash a large load. But $1.00 for 45 minutes of dry... that's a bit high. Estimated time to wash: 25 minutes. Actual time: closer to 50. I don't know whether I just got a bad machine or if these are the slowest washers ever. It took over 45 minutes to dry the load, so I paid $2 to dry. :( Place looks cool with ancient couches and wood paneling. Antenna TV channel was playing Maude and Archie Bunker's Place. Like being in my parents' basement in the early 1980s. I feel like $6.50 and two hours for one large load was not quite worth it. read more

I live near by and have been going here for about a year. The staff is great and it's clean. They have vending machines and a change machine. If you're in the mood for coffee that's free. I've never had a problem but I've seen a machine eat someone's money and the staff helped out right away. Little hint they have doughnuts on Sunday if you get there early enough. read more

There's always a staff member available, and is up for conversation if you're the only one there. In fact, they offer a cup of coffee, as well as a stack of menus for nearby restaurants. What I really like about The Laundry Basket are the couches and televisions so you can vegetate while your clothes dry. So many other laundromats have old, out-of-order video games and vending machines. I really don't feel like people are going to steal my clothes, either. It's in a pretty safe neighborhood on Macklind. However, Sundays are very busy. Pricing is comparable to other laundromats. They also offer to do your laundry for you (per pound). Outdated but reasonably clean. Two vending machines and a change machine as well as a laundry soap machine if you so need it. The couches and chairs are pretty old...so sit at your own risk. There is also a small table and chairs if you need to do work while your laundry is going. Plenty of folding tables and laundry carts are also available. read more

I really like this place. The staff is really nice. I often load a machine, go run around doing errands and come back and have never had an issue. The people who go there are of all sorts, older/younger/people with kids and are pretty normal. I have read other reviews saying there is smoking allowed, that's false. This place has some good points. The place is spacious. There are plenty of machines and there are a large variety of sizes of washers and dryers. There are separate washing areas, so everyone can stake out their own section. There is a change machine and a television. You can find machines that are clean and don't stink; if you select your machines carefully, your laundry will come out smelling clean. Now, for the cons. There's no WiFi. The washers don't give the loads a good spin so the laundry ends up needing extra time in the dryers and the dryers really need a lot of time to dry; the time investment is just too much. The place isn't "gross dirty", but it's not clean. Lots of dirt and dust in the crevices around the machines. The floor is old and dirty. And the ceiling tiles are stained. There's lots of very outdated fake dark paneling on the walls which just looks awful and this paneling also looks dirty. This place looks like it was decorated in the seventies and it hasn't been touched since. And without WiFi, seems that they're still in the 70's. read more

Our washer and dryer unfortunately started experiencing some issues so I turned to the local laundry mat. I only experienced 2 major downsides. I did 2 loads of laundry. Had to wash my bed sheets in 2 separate loads. It cost me 36 quarters just to do the wash! Though I don't visit laundry mats often, I find this outrageously expensive! Nearly $10 just to wash! Not to mention, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary but when I went to take my sheets out of the wash and into the dryer, I had black and brown stains and spots ALL over my sheets. There were NO spots prior to putting my sheets into the wash. These were my nice, white, Italian bed sheets!! They are now ruined. I cannot get the stains out. I am livid. Why would I wash my nice sheets at a laundry mat you ask? We have company coming on short notice and since the cleaners I have contacted will not wash bed sheets, I had no other option. I will NOT be returning here needless to say. read more

It's an old-school laundrymat with 80s decor but I kind of like that about it. We've had terrible luck with our washers and dryers so I've been here off and on for a decade between service calls. Look for the larger machines in the front near the desk and along the back wall by the tv. They have wifi, plenty of seating, snack and soda machines, change machine, a clean bathroom and street parking. I've always found the ladies who work here to be friendly. They also have a cheap drop off laundry service. It's a safe place. Best time of day is noon-4 on a weekday, empties out then. read more
