I told hubby, "I'm going to the restroom to wash my hands, and if she's not back to take our order, by then, we're leaving!" A lady tried the door to the restroom, and she thought someone was inside. We stood in line, waiting for her to come out. Then, our waitress said something, to turn the handle, it's just stuck (I'm not sure, something like that), so the lady in front of me, tried it harder, and the door opened. I only went there to wash my hands, then, I heard METAL DROPPED on the floor! That's what it sounded like. She was only closing her stall door, but it was so loud, metal to metal, it wasn't closing smoothly, but very noisy, that it startled me! I didn't like using the drying machine, I looked for a paper towel dispenser, there was none. I'm supposed to touch the dirty doorknob, with my clean & drippy hands? I used my skirt, to dry my hands, and the back of my fingers to turn the knob, as I said earlier, it was hard to turned the handle, hurting my knuckle right index finger. I was using the cold water plastic container, that the waitress brought in, so I don't bruise. The pizza we ordered: Mr Toad's Wild Ride, she throw in handmade pub meatballs, was very, very good! I saved one slice for my lunch tomorrow. Our waitress was very helpful! Once again, waiting for our receipt took another long wait, it was crowded, because of the game, I also thought to surprise our oldest son's big 5 - 0 birthday in a few weeks, but after the negatives above, and it can get very noisy . . . While there are other locations, this one on Broadway was not only convenient, but the ambiance was perfect. I like to cook, but lasagna is best made when you have company, so I will have it when I'm eating out and skip all the preparation. The meals arrived quickly, everything was hot, and for two people who said earlier that we weren't all that hungry, we both ate everything on our plates, as good a recommendation as I could offer. I'm sure I'll be back to dine at this particular Pastini, but I'm also feeling pretty good about trying their other locations too. The next time I'll bring my camera inside the restaurant. Just for once, instead of being the editor and photojournalist that I am, I decided to forego shooting and just enjoy the moment.

Who would have thought?!?! Of course, it was on the list + their Steak Tartare. I'll just say, we couldn't have ordered better. Their chicken is literally, out of this world. Having lived in the southeast of the country twice now, I feel as though I've experienced some pretty darn good fried chicken. However, the Wilder's Fried Chicken was absolutely enchanting, every bite! The Steak Tartare was served beautifully, with a yolk on top... how much better does it get? Ambiance is cozy and romantic. Bright and intimate in the mornings for brunch, dark and moody in the evenings for dinner. It strikes the perfect mood, every visit. We would be remiss not to mention their fabulous staff. Luckily, another server took over from there and we had a pleasant anniversary meal the rest of the time! Here's everything we tried: Devilish Eggs - This came with 4 deviled eggs and was just okay. The crispy bacon pieces was the best part of this dish! Steak Tartare - This was the main reason we chose this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed! We spent our first anniversary together in Europe and had so much tartare and this really brought back some wonderful memories for us. The tartare was rich and mustardy, beef flavor was great, and it sort of just melted in your mouth. The crispy chips paired well with the tartare and I can't wait to come back and have this again! Mussels - This was a big bowl of mussels in a white wine garlic sauce with toasted baguettes. Mussels tasted fresh and garlicky with just a bit of funk from whatever cheese they grated on top. I saved half to have with my meal but most of it was wilted already by the time our mains came out. But it's okay! The fried chicken actually had a small portion of this salad on its plate. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known, so next time will skip the side salad altogether! Fried chicken - I really wanted to like this dish but alas, fried chicken breast is very hard to make juicy. I definitely prefer dark meat because that's harder to mess up. My partner enjoyed it but he doesn't mind dry chicken. The sauces were phenomenal! That mustard sauce was great and the sweet glaze was delicious! The potatoes would have been a lot better if they were smaller to get more of that crust to creamy potato ratio but still okay the way it was. My fiance cleaned this plate up! Brown Butter Cake - This cake was phenomenal! It's hard to mess anything with Brown Butter up so I had really high expectations for this and they certainly did not disappoint. The server was nice enough to throw candles on it since we were celebrating and it really ended our meal on the sweetest note! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A bit dark and romantic.
