Fun watering hole in Hammersmith. I've only come for drinks, have never tried the food. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their cocktails are nice and decently priced for being in Central London. The service from the pub side was very good when we went for lunch as a group but we were very disappointed with the service from all of the staff in the Thai kitchen/restaurant area. We were told we had to go up to the counter to place the order, it was very disorganised. When a couple of us went up to place the order for the whole group, the staff were openly grumpy and didn't seem to have a concept of smiling or good customer service. It's a shame as I wouldn't go back there for lunch despite the food being tasty, and it's a shame for the pub as the pub staff are very welcoming and friendly. read more

Okay at best. I was staying in London with a friend who lives about 5 minutes away from here. We came in one evening for dinner. I had the papaya salad and the vegetable egg rolls. My friend had the papaya salad with some wontons, in addition to a beer next door. Overall, a below average Thai experience for anywhere outside of London. I believe they do the mixing of the salad early in the morning and just keep serving all day. It had way too much garlic and the vegetables didn't taste fresh. The tomatoes were particularly terrible. The only saving of the meal were the vegetable egg roll. They were only 4 little ones and it was almost 6 pounds. I won't be returning. read more

This place is really good. Rolled in for some beer last night and ended up having dinner there too. Bartenders are very nice and helpful. Tried a bunch of British beers. They have a Thai restaurants attached to them. Tried their pad Thai and it was phenomenal. Definitely try this place. read more

Friday night at the ole watering hole. These Brits are thirsty & boisterous. The place was packed inside & out. Kate & Dave were great, attentive & engaging. Kate was particularly interested in Florida, its alligators & Walt Disney World. My Panang Curry was as good as I've had anywhere, & the pt. of Guinness was...well what else can I say about "the Guinny" that hasn't been memorialized already. I loved the red curry dish. My bf thought the duck was in a tasty sauce but wasn't as tender and moist as other duck meals he's had in past. Nice selection of beer and wines. I went here with a work colleague whilst I was attending a seminar at the Kensington Olympia. We ordered drinks first and I didn't have to wait long at all. They had more than enough staff to get to customers quickly so that we didn't have to wait. Also, considering the location and the fact that the area is seriously lacking some good pubs, the prices were also good. They also gave customer service that you would think they wouldn't bother with, but they do and the staff are friendly and courteous. They have a good selection of drinks too. The pub has a Thai restaurant that is a separate entity, and located at the end of the pub. I got served immediately - although you do have to go up to their counter as I couldn't see table service, but it is after all a pub. We got our food within ten minutes and it was lovely. Really good traditional Thai food. A very decent portion size too. The prices for food were excellent! We sat outside and although in London, didn't feel like I was sat by the curb, it was relaxing and enjoyable. Had I not have been going back to the Olympia I would have most likely stayed there for a few more drinks. The place was immaculate and well looked after. If/when I am next back in the area I will definitely be going back there :) read more

A good few years ago now, the food trend du jour was for Thai food in pubs. Don't ask me why, I wasn't involved, though I do remember it involving pre-prepared easy dishes and just enough fried stuff to make sense alongside a couple of pints. In these fast moving days of lusty tattooed young chefs preparing robust local food in every spit and sawdust boozer in zones 1 and 2, that seems pretty old hat. Thankfully for the food historians, there are still a few working examples of the lazy predecessor to the gastro pub. The Windmill on the Cut in Waterloo is one (though the clientele and the actors spilling from the nearby theatres mean it's still one of my favourite pubs in London, albeit not for the food). Latymers in Hammersmith suburb Brook Green is another. Pre-prepared tasting sauces, frozen veg and factory spring rolls, old sticky rice and tough fatty duck all reared their heads. This is food you'll keep eating for a while afterwards, and not in a good way. read more

Went for a weekday evening dinner, and I really enjoyed everything. We ordered wings for starter, then I ordered pad kee mao for main. Wings were phenomenal with very flavourful sauce. I really liked my main as well - very spicy as it's supposed to be and served in healthy portions. My bf's pad Thai looked good too, though on this, I might have seen better. Ambience was very nice and unique. It's situated inside a pub, but when you walk in, it almost feels like a standalone restaurant. Simple but tasteful decorations. Above all, I liked the intimate feel of it all. Service was also good and prompt. The owner took time to joke with us, and they served everything on time without any issue. Would definitely go back for both food and perhaps, beer as well at the pub! read more

Well i was on vacation and had a sting urge for some home food, in my case, even though I am from Texas, I was dying for Thai food. I almost thought that the map was lying when he pointed out this old English pub. But I walked in and show enough at the end what is the type restaurant. I decided to sit in the bar area but didn't realize the custom of ordering food first before sitting. But that was my fault the service and it being fine and the food. The food was really what impressed me it was so fresh and the portion made me feel like I was back in the states. I was really impressed with the presentation and how fresh it all tasted I really have to give them props to how they cook the food. But I also enjoyed the atmosphere being in an old English pub but getting to have my delicious food was a dream come true I would highly recommend this restaurant to any traveler and to any person who lives there. read more

On the outside and when entering, this looks like an ordinary pub, but you'll find a Thai restaurant in the back. No cosy lighting, no stylish decoration, simply fantastic food, in large portions, for a more than decent price. The staff are very nice and helpful as well. Latymers is a fantastic pub on the main street in Hammersmith, with a great ambience and atmosphere, along with several sports screens usually on sky sports news. During weekday lunch times (and maybe weekend as well) they do a special thai menu, of about 20 dishes. I didnt think I was a Thai fan, but both times I have visited here I ahve been pleasently surprised by both the quality and quantity of the food on offer, so much that we have memorised the menu and know which dish we are going to order! Down sides are that it can get a bit cramped if there is a big group, as is usually the case with us, and it does usually get pretty popular, especially on a Friday. But it's always worth it for a work do or if you forget your lunchtime sandwiches! read more

This is such a hidden gem. It looks like your standard pub from the outside and I would never have thought to go in there if it hadn't been recommended to me because it is so out of the way. It's a pub at the front with a little Thai kitchen at the back serving delicious Thai food! All I can remember is I had number 16 both times I went and it was amazing. The first time I wanted to pay by card but the minimum was £10 so I ended up buying starters I couldn't manage to be able to pay for it. However the second time I was able to pay for it under £10 - this dish is only about £7.50 which is very reasonable for quite a big portion. (I should add that the starters were also delicious, what I could eat of them). An excellent lunch-time eat for anyone working in London, you can be in and out in 30 minutes. read more

amazing! some of the best thai I've had from Tokyo to the US. for an appetizer we had chicken satay...the best I've ever tasted! For our meals we had: the Gra Pow which is spicier than an American medium but bf still finished it even though he was swearing profusely :). Calling this a 'Thai Cafe' is a bit misleading. It's a pub with a Thai restaurant out the back - a game of two halves which sells Fullers ales in the front and an excellent menu at the rear. The pub is not terribly 'pubby' but there is a relaxed vibe there especially at weekends. Its only real drawback is the lack of serious outside space apart from tables on the street corner. In its former incarnation as the Red Cow (closed down 1980) it was a notorious music pub, the first place AC-DC played in the UK and a regular gig for the Stranglers. It was also the local for the crew of the 1970s TV series 'The Sweeney' and features in several episodes. read more

This was a regular hang out for me when I used to live across the road in Latymer Court 6 years ago. I recently went back after not having been for almost as long and holy guacamole, it is still in my view one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to in London. Admittedly I tend to order the same thing almost every time so I'd be lying if I said I have had extensive experience of the menu but the spring rolls, chicken satay, pork pad see ew, pad Thai and masaman curry are all excellent. You would never guess that in this rather generic looking Fullers chain pub lies this hidden gem, crouching tiger style. Good sized portions of very tasty food at good prices, what more could you ask for? Staff are very friendly although if you plan to sit there for an hour before ordering your food like we did (catching up on friends news and all) the wait staff definitely let you know it's time to order... one of my fave spots for a good meal, def recommended read more
