The place is nice, clean, liked the decoration, the waitresses are pleasant, but unfortunately the food isn't too good. We ordered appetizers and entrees, and only the appetizers were good. Appetizers: empanadas de verde, bolón, hayaca. All pretty good, the empanadas were a little hard, but had great taste and the cheese seemed to be the one from Ecuador. Entrees: ceviche mixto, bandera, seco de chivo, guatita and hornado. Ceviche: had too much spices, it tasted like water with cumin. Seco de chivo: simple!! Had barley any taste Guatita: it was kind of sweet, maybe it had too much peanut sauce Hornado: it was dry, and not tasty Again, the place and the service was great! Unfortunately the food needs improvement. read more

Hospitality was a little rude....food was ok ( chaulafan ) a few shrimp, chicken, pork, beef.... no like a real Ecuadorian with maduro( sweet plaintain or avocado ...distorted youtube music... and what is missing, thank you for coming we never heard... ( server never say to the customer) read more

Great food, great people. That taste really takes you back to Ecuador on every single bite. 100% recommended!! read more

I came on Sunday for my sister in law bday dinner. It was at least 12 of us there. It wasn't packed there was enough space to move around the table. Service was great and fast. I order the plain churrasco with white rice & sweet plantains. The churrasco was ok. I still haven't found a spot that cooks churrasco the way Cuban Pete's (Montclair, Nj) or Rumbas (Northbergen, Nj) does. But some of the other orders my family got looked and tasted amazing. If I do go back, I'll definitely order something different. (Posted a few pictures of my food and a few of the other plates we got) read more

Ceviche is delightful. Mofongo platter is loaded with pork chunks and cheese. And that Chinese style fried rice--no words. All delicious. Great staff too. Good place for appetizer-sharing and unwinding. Fresh, delicious food. read more

Food is good! But the service was horrible from when we walked in with 9 people and we had two table. Had to move over to another table away from the family. The orders can late, soup and main course at the same time. 2 food order was totally wrong and it took another 20 mins to correct it. The waiter MICHAEL then reached over a family member and spilled the beer which was half full into the plate of food of another family member. THE WORST PART OF THIS, WE PAID FOR THE BEER, THE FOOD THAT THE BEER WENT IN AND THE RESTAURANT TOOK 18% TIP WHICH WAS AROUND $33.00. And to top it off, we WAS TOLD THE CREDIT CARD MACHINE WAS NOT WORKING AND THEY ARE ONLY TAKING CASH. The only reason we didn't make fuss or complain to a manager was because we are on VACATION with CHILDREN. MICHEAL NEED TO BE RETRAINED. This service makes me feel like I was robbed and wouldn't RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! read more

I've recently come back from a trip to Ecuador and have been looking for a restaurant to quench my cravings. It's insanely professional and am blown away from how authentic the dishes are. The party I was with got the Seco De Gallina, the Fried Fish, and Shrimp Ceviche and we were all very impressed. They've recently opened so if you are in the area definitely stop by before the line is out the door. read more

Good afternoon my fellow foodies, I hope that all of you had a great new years celebration. I visited this nice spot in Bayonne last week and was pleasantly surprised. The decor was very nice and it had a full bar. Ecuadorian food has a distinct texture and flavor that is hard to duplicate, and I know this becuase, I am Ecuadorian. That being said the "Seco de Gallina" also known as chicken stew was outstanding. I know the seco was legit because my 84 year old Ecuadorian mother endorsed it. The "Carne Asada" with tostones was in all honesty acceptable but nothing more. The appetizer we ordered was Maduros con Queso and it was not acceptable. The maduros were not totally ripe and the cheese had a foul taste. I plan on paying this nice place another visit in the future in order to re-evaluate. read more

The food was good but the staff need better customer service training and not be drinking while at work my wife accidentally stepped in the men bathroom and started to use it that when a waiter or someone who claimed to be the manager stepped in and started to use the bathroom she told him excuse me I'm in here and instead of saying sorry my fault and steps out he proceeds to argue with her making my wife feel scared and intimidated and trapped to tell her that it's a mens bathroom and she wrong end of the day once he realized it was a female in there no matter if it's the mens bathroom or not he should of stepped out not stand there yelling at her while she pissed herself cause he refused to leave the bath while his co worker looked on such a shame read more

the food is amazing, the drinks were so good, im definitely coming back now i have a favorite bartender, her name is odalis and shes so patient w my indecisive self. the music made me feel like im back in dominican republic. thank you for a good time read more

Tried this place out a few times and it'll be be my last. The food is okay nothing special about it for the price. You can go to Newark or kearny and get better quality food for cheaper price. Not to mention the service is horrible. I just ordered today and it was the last straw as the food took 2 hours for pick up. Was told 45 and I went after 1 hour only to be told to come back after 15 minutes. Came back 30 minutes and got told to wait again. read more

Oh My Holy GOD!!! This was a horrid experience ! No bartender, owner totally screwed a simple martini. Waited 25 minutes to be served drinks because 1) had no idea how to make them 2) couldn't find the ingredients (bloody Mary). The owner is supposed to be a chef- he had no idea what ingredients were in the menu items ! People with food allergies- steer clear. Grilled shrimp cooked to dust.. Please, people with the great reviews....you need to get out more read more

Finally something opens here that I like, well love! I had the shrimp ceviche which was amazing, it's really hard to find Ecuadorian ceviche in this area. My boyfriend had the grilled chicken and it was grilled perfect with a barbecue flavor. Everything was perfect, from the sides to the drinks. The service was excellent as well! I plan on being a regular here! And I definitely get out a lot to know what's good read more

Sucks because they always have an issue when paying with card, few times I had to run across the street to quickcheck to get cash. When u order take out, they will make your food with no love at all (sad). Chicken once was super salty that I couldn't eat it. The portions get smaller and the prices get higher Makes no sense, reason why I don't bring my self there anymore. read more

The best Ecuadorian restaurant. Great quality and service. The owner is very professional and friendly. I go on a weekly basis I love the food and the wine. It reminds me of my grandmother cooking. It totally worth it read more

The food was excellent no doubt, but the service can improve. We were a group of 8 and everyones dish was different and amazing ! I definitely recommend this place if your looking for some great Ecuadorian food. I will be returning for sure !!! read more

Don't let the nondescript awning fool you. This place is da bomb. Ordered dinner for the first time last night, had to order lunch again today. We can't wait to order again! The chicken parilla, grilled steak, platanos, even the side of veggies...everything is flavorful and cooked to perfection. Kudos to the chef! read more

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this place. The interior looks nicer on the pictures. Food was mediocre but not too bad. Our server didn't speak English (I get it, it's a Latin restaurant, so I at first it didn't bother me). But when I didn't get what I wanted with my order, it was probably because of the language barrier. I asked if we could have a variety of empanadas for an appetizer (beef, chicken, and cheese), he assured that we could but they all were with beef and didn't taste good. My order was missing fries on the side and overall not what I expected. Dessert arrived without tea, even though I asked for one. The music at that place was so obnoxiously loud, it gave me a headache. Give it two stars because my husband was luckier with his order but will not come here again. read more

Love all the authentic Ecuadorian appetizers and breakfast dishes served at this restaurant. They are always fantastic and available all day. Order for pick up is efficient and prepared within the time frame allotted. Plus the ambiance is also great, with a mixture of modern and folkloric decor. Definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

First time going there for Mother's Day. Service was good. Food got to our table very fast. Nice clean. Good for parties. 2nd level was nice and big as well. Good place for a date too. read more

This place sells a big amount of food but the food is not good at all. We started off with drinks the pina colada tasted nothing like coconut or pineapple and was straight up ice cream blended and boom cherry on top. The Jugo de Mora was very watered down same with the Maracuya. We shared empanadas but they were alright and for $7.50 a waste of money. I got the Yanpigacho ( was awful the peanut sauce has to be straight up peanut butter). I even had to order another dish because it was awful. The skirt steak was average the rice is not opened well and the salad is like any other. My mom got the fritada( it lacked seasoning), my dad and mom shared Caldo de Salchica( smelled dirty which if done well should not smell and was alright), my dad got the Marisco Rice ( he said that wasn't bad but did need seasoning and flavor as it tasted simple). My grandfather got the casuela de pescado which was not good at all. The peanut sauce was sweet which shouldn't be the case in this dish and lacked seasoning on the plantain. To top this off they add a 18% as of 5 people which is okay but here is where they say cash only. They never mentioned it to us when arriving or no sign was seen. The sign was by the bar section so anyone would assume it's for the bar. The service was awful because tell your customers before seating them or let them know of the situation rather then me having to go get cash for the lousy service that was given in return. Will never go back there! read more

Drinks and Food are great. They should disclose there service charge (18%) applied for a bills $60 or more on there menu. I've been to restaurants where that's applied for a parties of 6 or more. As expressed by the waitress she said she isn't the one that makes the rules. Update your polices as all restaurants disclose before ordering and serving customers! read more

horrible the worst that can be, bad service, an hour waiting for food, of course I will never arrive because the waitress forgot to order, and my family like stupid waiting for the food........ horrible lo peor que puede habe, mal servicio, una hora esperando por la cómod, y nunca llegó claro la mesera se olvidó de hacer la orde, no recomiendo ese lugar horrible read more

I've been here multiple times for dinner, and the food is always amazing. I've had the shrimp with rice & most recently the shrimp in a sauce with smashed plantains - amazing. Their signature salad is to die for & should not be missed. The place is fairly new, & they are still going through some growing pains with some of the staff not that knowledgeable about the various dishes & their ingredients, timing between the appetizers & main course somewhat rushed, but the owners are hands-on & on site, catering to your every need. They remembered my special drink that they had made for me the last time (virgin mojito) & even whipped up a raspberry unsweetened iced tea the last time which they don't normally serve. They're accommodating, the place is adorable, the vibe is comfortable & fun, & the food is DELICIOUS. Don't let one negative review stop you from coming here - try it out & you won't be disappointed! read more

My husband has been trying to find an Ecuadorian restaurant and we heard about this place. We went on a Wednesday night & it was quiet. The atmosphere is very nice & cozy. We started with the fried yuca and bolon mixto. Both apps were delicious! I was looking forward to the churrasco and my husband wanted the goat stew and both were not available to order (the reason I gave four stars). That was disappointing but I ordered the flat sirloin steak and my husband ordered the hen. Both dinners were very good, no complaints here. The food/apps/beer were all decently priced. Would recommend! read more

Very low quality service. First of all, the drinks were served without ice. When we asked for ice, we didn't get it until the very end when we were done eating. The food, was greasy, nasty, and it had ZERO flavor. The fries were soggy. There was HAIR in my food. The water tasted like sink water. The bathroom...DISGUSTING. I came with a number of people and I ordered my food FIRST. Guess when I got it? When everyone else FINISHED their food. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. If I could put zero stars...I would. read more

There's not much parking so you'll spend a few minutes looking for a spot that's like a block or two away. The place is really neat and welcoming. The service is alright, the waiters are somewhat attentive. Asked for a water and didn't get my water until I left. The food was lackluster. As an Ecuadorian whose been in Ecuador and eaten GREAT Ecuadorian food, this doesn't compare. It had no salt and no flavor. Not only did it not have any flavor it took forever to get to my table. Even the appetizer took forever. The batidos are not the best. Taste like they added milk and powder of Mora. A little pricy and not worth it. I'm leaving two stars instead of one because it was a busy Sunday when I came but still not an excuse for the service to be this slow. read more

Horrible service. Wasn't impressed by the food either. There were only a couple other people in the restaurant and food took a very long time to come out. We also had to continuously get up and interrupt the server while she was on her phone, to ask her to take our order or bring us more drinks as she didn't bother coming to the table. read more

Terrible service. We had a reservation for 6pm to celebrate my in-laws 47th anniversary, but when we arrived they were not ready for us. After being seated they told us they were a little backed up and it would be a little while before we received our food. We said ok and placed our order. The first three items we asked for they did not have. After 1.5 hours no one had come to our table to see if we needed anything, update us on our order, or anything. After 2 hours they started brining out our entree but still had not even received our appetizers. I asked where the appetizers were and they said they were putting the order in now (after our entree!). At this point my in-laws were tired and we had to take the food to go because we had waited so long unattended. To top it off the tip is automatically included when the service was non-existent. When I asked to speak to the manager they advised he was out of the country. This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Needless to say I will not be returning and would not recommend anyone else waste their time or money. Spend it somewhere that appreciates their customers. read more
