There was an upstairs area too, which i didnt get to explore but it seems that there was a live band up there. Not sure if thats how they operate daily. The band playing was pretty loud, i would say the environment is loud if the band is always there as a note. Food: The group got a beef soup for each person and a plaintain ball w chicharon to share. Its my first time having this type of food and it was pretty good. The plaintain ball was accompanied by a few sauces and limes. It was also pretty huge, so definitely share if anything. Our server told us that since they had an event going on in the other room that it would be best if we ordered an appetizer since it would take a long time for our food to come out - we declined and was pushed again to order an appetizer. She was upset that we did not order an appetizer. It in fact did not take a long time but were pushing for something else to sell. Chaulafan - 3/10 lacked flavor. Disappointed with this dish. Pargo frito - 8/10 good flavor but wished that the tostones were actually cooked properly, the middle was raw still. Encebolla de albacora - 0/10 worst encebollado I have ever had. Lacked flavor. The fish itself tasted like it was from a can. Metallic taste. I tried to eat it but with ever bite I wanted to spit it right out. They asked me why I left it I told them that it didn't taste good and she brought over their manager (?) she was rude and told me that it is their #1 seller and that they use everything fresh so it must be me not their food. I really wanted to like this place. We came here after seeing the pictures of the food on social media and hearing from family that have visted. Their reaction was meh but i still went to try it. We ordered take out. Service was nice but the food was not as good. The lentejas tasted burned and the caldo de bola had a hair in it. The encebollado was a bit bland. This was a complete waste of time and money. The ambience was terrible - we were literally sitting in top of other parties - too many tables crammed into a small area. This place offers ethnic cuisine. Don't bother going here if you do not speak Spanish or at the very least look like you might be Latin - the staff doesn't speak English. I am fluent in Spanish but they assumed I couldn't speak the language and asked someone from my dinner party what I would like. By the way, I ordered water with my meal - I was given a bottle of Poland Spring; not even a glass, and it was room temperature! The food was average at best. This time we been there was a disaster. We sat upstairs in the middle of a party on a Sunday afternoon. Live music but so loud that we couldn't even talk, and the music seemed for a private party. I understand they're short staff, everyone is at this point of Covid but it took over an hour for our drinks to be served when other tables who came later have been served already. We literally when downstairs to get water bottles. Also they ran out of skirt steak which was my reason of going there. I ended up ordering carne asada which is supposedly be a sirloin steak but not even close! Just some random thin piece of meat. Not sure if I would come back after this. Overly priced!! They charge you a flat 20% service charge so I paid $12 for 2 people dishes. Then they charge you an extra 3% if you pay with credit card. Today they had a DJ which the music was ANNOYINGLY LOUD !! It was 6:30 PM!! The DJ & music were at the front of the restaurant. I couldn't have a peaceful conversation. Isn't this a RESTAURANT?? Considering we were pressed for time and the options in Bayonne are limited, Latitude was decent enough. Esthetically the place is small but clean and nicely decorated with a full bar. The service was great and both the young man and young woman that served us were attentive and pleasant. The food was good and the portions were fair. I didn't appreciate the automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill especially for a party of 2. I have a much better time accepting an automatic 18-20% tip for larger groups. $90 for two apps, steak dish and shrimp ceviche. Latitude is not at the top of my list but I might be inclined to dine there again in the distant future. read more

Fantastic new place in Bayonne! They opened during the winter but this was my first chance to get in there. They have a full bar but we started with white wine. I had a pinot grigio, my husband had a Portuguese wine but he can't remember the name. For an appetizer we shared a Bolon de Mixto, which was a plantain pastry stuffed with cheese & chicharron. It was good but big and there was no way I was finishing my half. Luckily the husband can pack it away. I ordered the Tuna steak for dinner. It was excellent! Loved it. We ordered sides of maduros and yucca to go with everything. My husband had sea bass with a garlic butter shrimp topping. He loved it. I will take his word for it, since I can't have shrimp. All in all everything was fantastic. Prices are very good. With tip this was 55. Next time we'll stay for dessert! read more

This place charges you dearly for their food and that's okay if you really wanted Ecuadorian food. We order the caldo de pata, please don't, it's awful and the pata wasn't cooked soft, a hard pass for an expensive soup. About their Tip policy: I ordered a couple of appetizers to go and they charge me a mandatory tip at 22% on everything, not fair. You don't have a say on the percentage and the service wasn't great. This was my first time ordering from here and I am pleasantly surprised. I was in the mood for a soup and I had never had Ecuadorian food before and this was the only place that had a soup I would actually eat and it did not disappoint. I ordered the caldo de bola AND it was superb. The meat was soft (short rib) and you could taste the plantain in the soup and the veggies. It was a very hearty soup so I would say it definitely hit the spot and they sent it with a nice bit of rice and a hot sauce which was also yummy.
