Our experience with Romero's funeral home was amazing. Delia took care of us on several occasions…read moreand made us feel like family. Several months ago, she assisted my mother in making beautiful brochures for her brother. She was pleasant and compassionate when helping my elderly mother. At the end of this experience, Delia felt more like a friend. When my mother passed away, I knew I wanted Delia to help. She guided the family through this very painful process with ease. She went above and beyond making sure every detail was executed to mirror my mother's last wishes. She was very patient and kind with each request. Delia made sure everything went perfect the day of the service and even personally attended. Her recommendations for Mariachis, beautiful slide show, lovely brochures, and personal touches helped ensure everything was perfect for our beloved Mother. Steve from the Lakewood location also went above and beyond. He was so kind and came early so we could set up in the morning the day of the service. He carefully placed all flower arrangements that were delivered and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall Romero's staff helped guide us through this difficult time and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The night of his passing, the 2 individuals that picked him up were so kind, they even left a flower on the bed and were so gentle with him. A day or 2 following that night, we met at the actual funeral home with a girl named Iris. We could not have asked for a kinder individual, she helped us with everything! She went above and beyond and was so patient with the tough situation we were in. The gentleman that helped during the services was also so amazing. He made sure everything went so smoothly and was very kind as well, he felt like part of the family. Thank you to everyone at this wonderful funeral home, please continue to touch the hearts in our community with your kindness! Hugs!

Be a Tree Cremation

I will tell you my story and how I came to know about Be a Tree Cremation. My son passed away…read moreunexpectedly on 9.16.21, 12 days before his 32nd birthday, we were making plans to celebrate him, we had just talked on the phone the day before and texted before he went to bed. I will never forget the call, my life changed forever, he was my only child. I would have never thought that my healthy 31 year old son would go before me, go to sleep and never wake up. I never thought I would be seeking any type of burial services for my 31 year or old son, never thought about pre-planning for myself, just never thought about any funeral planning at all and had not talked to my son about any of this, why would I, he was young, healthy, active, outdoorsy and full of life! What I did know was that he would not want to be buried, that he loved the environment and would do anything to save it. My son loved the outdoors, nature, hiking, rock climbing, camping, white water canoeing, ice climbing and nature in general and he loved Colorado and all of its beauty. When I learned of water cremation and Be a Tree and it's founder Emily Nelson and what Be a Tree stood for, no carcinogens to pollute our air like a traditional fire cremation, I knew my son would approve. Emily and her staff at Be a Tree, were so helpful to my family, they were patient, they helped guide us, helped set up a small visitation prior to cremation, worked with us on the ceremony, my sons Celebration of Life, gave us some ideas for a venue and a Celebrant, they held our hand during the worse time of our lives. My family and I also got to know Half Moon Farm in Lakewood, after the water cremation, the liquid byproduct of water cremation is a nontoxic solution of amino acids, peptides, sugars, and soap, which makes a wonderful fertilizer that Be a Tree calls "Tree Tea", families may take some Tree Tea home to water trees and plants in their personal garden or donate to Half Moon Farm to be used on flowers and other non-edible plants; this is the option I chose. For this reason Half Moon Farm will always be a special place for me to go as well. We had some really nice bouquets of fresh cut flowers from Half Moon Farm at my sons service, they were absolutely beautiful. I will never forget the kindness that Emily and her staff showed to my son and my family; they took broken people and lifted us up with love and light and helped us navigate the darkness of death. Special shout out to Emily, Sheree and our Celebrant Erin, with love always

They consulted on all of our options, and worked with us to make the process easy. The team that picked up my father when he passed was incredibly kind and so gentle. I also really appreciated the text updates throughout. Everything was digital, which made it easy during a particularly difficult time. I love that the cremation was environmentally friendly and not crazy expensive. Every aspect, from initiating contact to picking up my father's remains, was handled with the utmost care and respect. Thank you for making a painful process gentler and comforting.

The mortuary staff was always friendly, welcoming, grateful and reassuring. We were walked through the entire process of how services would be held, walked through the difference in packages that were available, casket options, flower selection, and song choices. Fast forward several years until 2020 and the COVID19 pandemic and the sudden passing of my Father that once more brought me into this location. The funeral director was pretty helpful with things and it so went smoothly. We did have to wait a bit to have the service and we could only have 10 people there but Newcomer also posted the services online for our family in and out of state to watch. That was very nice. Over all it was a smooth and warm/caring experience that has helped my husband and I come to the decision that we'll use them to plan our services ahead of time. Thank you, Newcomer!

When my dad passed it was great emails were answered, India called to update us on when they were taking dad, when he would be ready ect....this time there was no communication. I dont believe Lydia was given the messages to please return my calls by the front desk receptionist, my sister also asked for a call back when she picked up our mother and still no message was given to Lydia. Im thankful Lydia called back and is going to fix the bookmarks, when you lose a lived one you do want whats left to be what they would want, so Im Thankful they are honoring thier work and word. Idid send her copies of emails I sent to her so hopefully IT can figure out what happened.
