I followed-up with the request in writing, and then again confirmed over the phone that my request would be honored. They promised me it would be. Well, they cremated the body and forgot to preserve a lock of hair first. Initially, they blamed it on the coroner. I called the coroner who confirmed the body was in order when they released it to Heritage and then she called Heritage herself to let them know. Heritage finally admitted it was their mistake and promised that a supervisor would call me immediately. I never heard back from anyone at Heritage. I would recommend against using Heritage.

Unfortunately Carl was horrible- he cared only about the money needed to care for our mother. Then- he did not return the phone calls from Hospice- to get the information needed to pick up our deceased mother. After we called 6 times- Carl still did not respond, nor did he arrange the pick up when we had another funeral director call him to help us, Carl was rude and swore to this other funeral home director. Turns out funeral homes in Colorado do have have to be licensed to operate--clearly this is a horrible over-sight and allows anybody to hang a shingle to operate. After 4 hours of waiting we called a different funeral home and they arrived in less than 90 minutes. CAUTION!!!

My younger sister had just killed herself and I was VERY specific about what needed to happen with signing papers and going over documents with my parents and the tenderness required to work with our family. After giving specific instructions, Mike barged into my parents home and demanded that the papers be signed quickly. He seemed to be in a hurry and there was little to zero compassion. After much deliberation, and while my sister's body was still at the coroner's office, my family decided to work with a different funeral home. Upon calling the Coroner's office to let them know that we were going to work with a different funeral home, I called Mike to tell him we would be working with someone else. He then proceeded to LIE to me and told me that he had already picked up my sister's body, WHICH HE HAD NOT. DO NOT WORK WITH MURPHY'S. They are HORRIBLE.
