a menu for a mexican restaurant
Stephanie B.

The food here was pretty good and came out quickly. The day that we went it was fairly empty just my family and three other tables being occupied. Prior to this I had only been here once before although I do recommend this place I just hope that the servers have a little more patience with people that may not be familiar with their menu. Also, with people that may have dietary needs.

This place is gross and the waitresses were total bitches. They did not have any white wine by the glass despite what looks like a full bar here. I had a fly on my plate the entire time that I kept having to swat off my food. The waitresses made me feel awkward, I was dining alone and my Spanish does suck but I am friendly and can get along with most everyone.

Miami sandwich yum!

Fabulous Fridays from 9pm - Closing. DJ Peter and DJ JokR spinning open format in the bar area with Liquid Laz the mixologist.

I have been DJing at this location for two weeks now that I have partnered up with the gentlemen that is the current resident DJ. The place is nice. Restaurant: Very spacious, food is awesome, service is good. Bar area (Were we currently DJ at): Small little area away from the restaurant. Very nice full liquor bar. You can order food at the bar so you dont have to go in the restaurant. Bartender is awesome. The music we play is up to the guest in attendance. Music kicks off at 9pm and we stop at the closing time. Kitchen is open till late so once again you can enjoy some good food in case you have to many beers or drinks. The atmosphere is very nice and laid back. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for somewhere that has food, music, and drinks under the same roof without the hassles of parking, cover charge, etc.

The salmon comes with a white sauce that I can't stop craving for! This Cuban spot on the west side of Hialeah is above average Cuban food made to order. Definitely one of my favorite spots and all my friends I've taken here

Cuban food was introduced to me by my fiance 4 years ago, and I have to say that the bistec empanizado (fried steak) served here is the best I have had in those 4 years. The bistec empanizado is huge and delicious. The breading is crispy and does not bubble and separate easily from the meat. The meat itself has a lot of flavor. You can tell it was marinated prior to cooking. We have tried other dishes here as well and they are all great, but what makes this place awesome (other than the bistec empanizado) is the price. The menu here is about 20-30% cheaper than places like la caretta. For example, the bistec empanizado is only $11.45! This is usually around $16-17 other places. Sandwiches are around $6-7, and they have daily specials discounting favorites even further. I only wish they had chicken croquettas (they only have ham)! If they did I would be here every morning for breakfast. If you are in the mood for some delicious fried steak, this is your spot. **Update 4/2/17: had to drop the rating to 4 stars, because my bistec empanizado was over cooked and not great on 2/4 of my subsequent visits. Inconsistency.

We've always loved this location because of its food and service. You can compare it to any Latin America or Latin Cafe out in Miami in regards to its food OPTIONS. But this specific place has some awesome prices where you'd otherwise pay more somewhere else. Their location is small and they have a window if you want to take to go. But the indoor seating can fit at least 30 people I would guess. The waitresses are always welcoming and start you off with some toasted bread before anything else. A few things that I recommend are the sandwiches. They are all very good quality. I would also recommend ordering the Malanga Soup. If you've never had it before then you definitely need to try it. They can give you a small sample for you to try before you decide if you ask by the way. The churrasco steak is amazing. And always try some of their fresh orange juice. I didn't mention but like other Latin restaurants they offer a very low cost breakfast but you receive a lot in return! It's really delicious.

Cafe con leche and Cuban toast

Being Cuban, I love having my Cuban toast and cafe con leche in the morning whenever possible! This place is very cozy and the service is great. It's a nice spot to sip on some coffee and lay back before you start the day ahead of you. I ordered the egg whites mixed with ham and 2 pancakes and a side of toast. My cravings were satisfied!

Fortunately, a coworker pointed me toward Latin American Grill in Miami Lakes, just a few minutes from our hotel. It turned out to be exactly the sendoff I was hoping for. We started with the Sopa de Pollo, a bowl that made it immediately clear this kitchen isn't interested in shortcuts. Large chunks of chicken, tender vegetables, and noodles floated in a broth with remarkable depth. It wasn't simply chicken soup, it was the kind of soup that makes you wonder why every other version tastes so timid. A squeeze of fresh lime added just enough brightness to wake up every spoonful without distracting from the richness of the broth. Then came the reason for the visit. The Medianoche. I've always preferred the sweeter cousin of the traditional Cuban sandwich, and Latin American Grill makes a terrific one. Thick slices of ham and juicy mojo pork were layered with Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles before being pressed between soft, sweet bread until the outside turned beautifully crisp. Every ingredient had a purpose. The pork brought richness, the ham added salt, the mustard and pickles cut through the fat with welcome acidity, and the sweet bread tied everything together. It's one of those sandwiches that reminds you how satisfying simplicity can be when every component is done well. Sometimes the best restaurant recommendations don't come from guidebooks or social media. They come from someone who simply says, "You should eat here." In this case, they were absolutely right. A great Cuban sandwich doesn't need reinvention. It just needs great ingredients, careful execution, and a hot press. Latin American Grill delivers all three.
