Absolutely Horrible Experience - Do Not Book This Hotel…read more I stayed at this hotel in early April 2025 for my sister's wedding. I came from Ohio with my two daughters and had booked for 5 nights. I wish I could give this place zero stars. The hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures. It's not clean, poorly maintained, and there is rarely anyone at the front desk. The "breakfast" was awful--we could only stomach the hard bagels. On the second day, I found a bed bug on a towel in the bathroom. I immediately told housekeeping, who told me to call the front desk. I called 10 times with no answer, left a voicemail, and waited over an hour before the "manager" (Tiffany) finally showed up. Her response? I could check out if I wanted, but she didn't know what else to do. I was shocked. I didn't have the funds to find another hotel, and I was in town for a wedding I was actively helping plan. After I contacted the booking office to file a complaint, Tiffany suddenly offered to move me to a new room. This happened just an hour before the rehearsal dinner, so I had no choice but to pack everything up and move. Extremely inconvenient and stressful. The problems didn't stop there. On Saturday morning (the day of the wedding), another manager came to my room while we were getting ready to ask if I was checking out--even though I booked until Sunday. I had already explained this, but apparently communication between staff is nonexistent. For the rest of the stay, I barely slept--constantly checking my daughters and myself for more bugs using a flashlight. It was traumatizing. My sister ended up booking a last-minute room at the Hilton the night before the wedding because she was afraid to sleep in my room. That added more cost we weren't prepared for. To top it off, the key cards stopped working for two days and no one told us. We only found out after going back and forth to the front desk. Again--no communication and barely any staff. I've attached a video of the bed bug I found. I wish I had taken more evidence, but I was juggling wedding duties and a hotel disaster. I'm still waiting on Ms. Russell from the booking office to resolve my refund request, but it's been difficult since the hotel isn't responding. Bottom line: Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to risk bringing home bed bugs and dealing with an unresponsive, unprofessional staff. *FOLLOW UP... hotel refused to compensate me for any of my troubles. Per Ms Russell they refused any help at all.

I think I may look for a different accommodation when next in the Albany area, however. LAST SPRING I enjoyed two nights in a first floor room that was reasonably sized, with the comfort I have come to expect from other Microtels. Not too big and not too small is what keeps me coming back to the chain. The breakfast offerings were light. THIS EARLY SPRING I came back to the area and was given a second floor room that had clearly not been cleaned. The bathroom area was also unusually and unpleasantly rusty in appearance. To their credit, the staff obliged in my request for a room change. The follow-up room, also on the second floor, was adequate but not as up to date and spotless as I remembered from the first floor experience in 2024. Hotel is very convenient to shopping, I-87, route 7, Albany airport and other area attractions.

They provided a simple cold breakfast in the morning which consistent of coffee and OJ as well as yogurt, bananas, cereal and muffins. The staff was very friendly and the room was pretty clean. We did not use the shower however. The beds looks very try clean when we inspected the mattress and they were surprisingly comfortable. My biggest complaint was the room was freezing when we entered which was pretty alarming. It took a bit for us to get the temperature comfortable to be able to take off our coats. There was pretty bad airflow in the room. The check in process also took quite a while which was frustrating. There is no elevator in the building so if you need an accessible room or have a lot of luggage, you should request a first floor room. Pets are allowed for a $25 fee. They had online partial check in option (to list car make/model/plate) and online check out which was sent via text message.

I had to fly home a day early, I called Chase, Travel, who checked with the hotel, and they were, no problem at all. They were very flexible. It's a great location, right next to the freeway, but far enough back that you don't hear any noise , and only about 10 minutes or so from Albany airport. I checked in, and everything in the hotel was clean, bright, and modern. The gentleman who checked me in was very friendly, very personable, continuously called me by name, and he got me checked in. Because I'm a higher level with IHG, I got a little "goodie bag" with snacks. I thought that was nice. The hotel also has a little "snack shop" with sundries and food that you can buy. Prices are a little bit higher, but that's expected because you were buying them directly at the hotel. The room itself was modern and spotless, it was a decent sized room. The TV got a great picture, it had a Keurig available, and there was also a fridge and microwave. There was a desk to eat or work at, and plenty of places to charge my gear. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream video. The bathroom was also spotless. This is very minor, but the bathtub did not have any type of bathmat or anything like that to stand on. There was a grab bar to grab in case one slipped, but it would be nice to have a bath mat. The bed was comfortable, and I slept like a baby. The hotel has an indoor pool and a hot tub, and a fitness center, of which I did not use. They also have a free laundry for guests, and that came in very handy. I'm glad I didn't have to fly home with dirty laundry. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, hot and cold choices, including cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, proteins, juice, hot and cold cereal, cocoa, and coffee. A very nice stay that definitely lives up to the IHG brand. Thank you for a great night.

At the beginning of February, my family and I--including my wife and two young children--stayed at…read morethis hotel and were placed in an extremely uncomfortable environment due to a swingers convention being hosted on-site. At no point during booking or check-in were we informed that an adult-themed event of this nature would be taking place. While I respect that consenting adults may attend such events, the lack of transparency and failure to separate this type of gathering from families created an environment that was entirely inappropriate for children. To make matters worse, as shown in the attached photo, how nice is it to step off the elevator with your family and be greeted by a sign promoting this kind of event? It really set the tone for what was supposed to be a relaxing, family-friendly stay. As a result, we avoided using amenities such as the pool and gym, and even breakfast the following morning was tense and uncomfortable. This was not the experience we expected when booking with a brand like IHG. What is even more frustrating is that the manager at the hotel acknowledged the situation and offered to refund my stay and provide a complimentary night. However, after reaching out to the property multiple times, I have never received this compensation or any follow-up communication. This lack of accountability and failure to honor what was promised has been extremely disappointing.

From the street and the upper parking lot this hotel looks closed but drive around to the main entrance and everything starts to take shape, The front steps lead up to a very cozy lobby with a fire in the fireplace and beside that is the front desk. The staff at the front desk were very efficient and friendly with getting us checked in. The whole decor is colonial in style without being stuffy. The room was different in style than the front lobby. The room was extremely comfortable and cozy which was needed after a long night of travel and the first college tour. From the desk and headboards the style was a bit more modern with the bathroom door being a barn door style . The room was very quiet and the view was serene. In the morning the complimentary breakfast was a little above average with a couple unique items like fresh scones. This is a place that I would book again if I needed to stay in the area. Jennifer, the front desk receptionist, did an excellent job during check-in. I arrived early, and she found a room for me right away. She was quick, friendly and efficient. She also automatically provided me and other Rewards members two water bottles. The rooms were renovated, spacious, and clean. Some TV channels like FOX News and ESPN were not working because of the current Direct TV/Disney dispute. Free breakfast is provided only to Residence Inn guests. Courtyard guests must pay a la carte at the restaurant The Bistro, which is located in the hotel lobby, but the food and drink are so expensive that most of my co-workers and I ate at the Starbucks less than a mile away. We went to The Bistro at night for drinks. All drinks were so strong that some of us got inebriated on only one drink. They were not watered down. I had the Cherry Old Fashioned, which the bartender said is the restaurant's most popular cocktail: Bourbon, Bourbon Cherries and muddled fruit. For $12, it was a bargain! There are two seating areas outside, each having a fire pit table. They were the highlight of our stay. We imbibed our cocktails and chatted there. Sitting by the fire was a pleasant way to unwind after a hard day's work. I highly recommend the Courtyard Albany Airport, for business or pleasure.

The staff wasn't overly friendly or enthusiastic, but that's okay. The elevators were fast and I never had to wait. My room on the third floor, near the end of the hall, was quiet. I heard noise from neighboring rooms, but only while passing by. I did not hear any noise from traffic or people overhead. The room was spacious, with a firm yet comfortable king bed and a large pullout couch. Four guests could have easily shared the space. The closet alcove offered plenty of hangers, plus an ironing board and iron. I didn't use the coffee maker, microwave, or mini fridge, but it's nice that they offer them. The bathroom was spacious and the water pressure was great. The hot water came on immediately and the temperature didn't waver. Some of the "gold" finish was coming off the mirror, and the wall outlet wasn't completely screwed into the wall. I was counting on body wash, since I'd forgotten to pack my own, but no such luck. Judging by the rack screwed into the shower wall, they used to offer shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but it was empty. The thermostat worked just fine and the blackout curtains were appreciated, but the wall outlet under the desk threw off a bright blue light into the room. The TV and remote worked well and the WiFi was mostly fine, although I did notice a few drops. The included breakfast was pretty standard, offering eggs, ham and sausage, fruit and yogurt, cold cereal and bagels/muffins, plus coffee and juices. The breakfast room is huge so even though it's very popular, no worries about finding a table. My second morning (Sunday) seemed much lighter on choices; for example, they were out of yogurt, cereal, and sausage patties. Checkout was nonexistent, since the front desk people were all in the back room chatting amongst themselves. I just tossed my keycards into the bin on the counter and went about my business. I feel The Clocktower ranks a solid four stars based on my stay. I'd consider staying here again in the future.
