I've been visiting Late's for many decades. It's the classic family-run American diner. My Dad and I stopped in today for a perch lunch plate; it was just as I remembered. Nostalgic.

    Double burger with bacon

Went during lunch on a Friday. Ordered 4 things. One malt, an order of onion rings, an order of cheese curds and a double bacon burger. The malt was good. The nothings were good and the curds were good. The only things were that the portions for the price were small on the rings and curds. The malt was a good price no complaints there. The burger I ordered I said the works with bacon and when I got it, it had no bacon and no works. Sent it back for the bacon at least. The bun style did not really complement the beef patty cause it didn't hold the burger together at all. Might not be back unless I get a malt only.

I like the name. I like the people that work there. I like the people that eat there. I like the food. I like the location. I like the menu. It's clean with ample parking. And I LOVE the MALTS!

Overpriced greasy spoon in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the burgers and cheese curds were ok but not worth the $40 they charged us.

We had burgers, cheese curds, perch sandwich, chocolate shake and onion rings and it was all excellent! Definitely worth the stop!

Great place for a burger, a bowl of scratch made soup or a home cooked meal…read more This place has been around forever! Changed names a few years ago, but it was the former cool who took it over, so it's been a staple of good food in Two Rivers for a long, long time. The burgers are made like a "smash burger" on an open grill... make sure to order with the fried onions. Amazing! I ordered the "Saturday Special" which was Baked Chicken, with all the fixings for $8.75! You can't even eat at McDonald's for that price anymore! Plus this was a full meal, with all home cooked food. Unfortunately this is a tiny place with counter space for maybe 10 and I'm guessing 4 or 5 small tables. Not for a group! They also do not take credit cards so bring your cash! So nice to have these little diners still around. This one is on Hwy 42, so if you are heading to Door County, this might be a great stop to get good reasonably priced food before you get to tourism central in Door County!

Move ahead 1 year... we walked in and the waitress was standing in front of us, I said hi and she rolled her eyes, said something to a lady sitting at the counter, turned back to us and just stared at my husband, son , and I for a min. She exhaled loudly turned and began to wipe a table saying nothing. So we left. It was the strangest experience I have ever had in a restaurant . We won't go back

The bar, the wait staff and the food are always first-rate. We generally go on Saturday and have the prime rib which is a good as any we've had anywhere and the prices are very reasonable.

We were able to find a table right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. Upon reviewing the specials and menu, I decided on the shrimp basket. The dinner comes with choice of soup or salad, and choice of potato. I chose the clam chowder and fries. My clam chowder came out fairly quick, and I was disappointed. It was wayered down and flavorless. I added some salt, pepper and a couple toasted bread chunks and it made it a little better. A short time later my shrimp plate came out, the breading on the shrimp was crispy and seasoned well. The fries were hot and crispy. The shrimp dinner was the redeeming grace from the disappointment of the clam chowder. The dining room is small, and dimly lit, with the tables close together. Overall it was a good experience, and another trip may be a possibility in the future.
