I like this bar. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a $2 domestic draft. Super cold beer! We stayed for a few. The bartenders are nice. The bar is pretty big, decorated nice, and very clean. I had some free popcorn but we didn't eat. There was a steady flow of people coming and going. I heard their burgers are good. They have a ton of wing sauces. Good food. Love the hamburgers. Great serxice. A nice place to meet people. The donors area is roomy and comfortable.

Cheap. If the owner's son is bartending I don't recommend unless you like to be insulted.

Food was above average, drinks were fun, vibe was awesome. Place was crowded, but the bartender kept up with everyone.

We only stopped in for cocktails. The bloody maty is decent and the mixed drinks also. While wer didn't eat, it was an obvious local favorite. Thursday night featured special was a 2 piece fried chicken dinner with a choice of French fries or potato salad as well as 2 pieces of fresh bread and coleslaw for $4.00. We were at Van's with a larger group. Burgers and sandwiches were really good. I had a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, which was awesome! Also the Jalapeno Snappers and the french fries are really tasty. The food is not pricey at all so we would definitely come again. read more

I just moved to Manitowoc and was looking for a local bar with good food, well Vans food and service is GREAT!, ( and you cant beat their prices). The fish fry was fantastic, ask for the fresh perch or walleye with a side of sweet coleslaw, it was the best I've ever had. The chicken wings, Wow! A list of homemade hot sauces and dips were yummy. I had a couple cold beers and took some Juicy Burgers home to the kids that they loved. A Big Shout out to Owner Paul, The Bartenders, Cathy, Shyler, Jessica and Chad in the kitchen. Vans is great. Their sandwiches are delicious and you can't beat their prices. I suggest the Reuben or the Garlic Chicken. The owners are fantastic and usually there to make your visit even better. read more

Friendly mom and pop bar with excellent bar food. They cook long after the other bars stop too!

Went to Van's with my husband, we will not be returning. Our grilled cheese was badly burned, but they still served it to us. My husband politely asked the female owner for a root beer; She replied "I'm not even supposed to be working right now." He did not receive his root beer. The food was mediocre at best, and the owner is extremely rude and obnoxious to her customers. The Dugout, Timeout ,and Tower tavern have much better bar food, and the owners and employees treat you like you're welcome there. Stay clear of Van's. read more
