I recently traveled with Royal Jordanian as a oneworld Emerald member, and unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations. For anyone needing assistance, the main customer support/live person number I was provided was +1 888-738-0699, available day or night. My wife and I paid an additional $140 specifically to reserve what was presented as a two-seat row for extra comfort and privacy. However, after boarding, we discovered it was actually part of a three-seat row, leaving us with an unwanted middle-seat arrangement. Paying extra for seating that was presented misleadingly was extremely frustrating. My assigned seat, 6K, was also very uncomfortable and appeared to have little to no cushioning. During the flight, I had to use multiple pillows and blankets just to avoid severe back pain. For a long international flight, this level of seating comfort was unacceptable. The customer service process before departure made things even worse. I first contacted the Detroit office for basic flight and aircraft information, but after multiple transfers between Detroit and Chicago, I kept getting redirected without receiving any real assistance. Only after several unnecessary calls was someone finally able to provide the information I originally requested. To be fair, the aircraft itself was modern, clean, and visually impressive. Most of the flight attendants were professional, polite, and hardworking throughout the journey. Just flew in with LATAM Perú yesterday morning from Lima and they weren't that bad. There was a blanket, pillow and pair on headphones on every seat, even though the plane was over 25 years old it was well kept and seats were very comfy for the 8 hour leg to JFK. Both dinner and a warm breakfast were served along with drinks including wine and beer. The only downside was there were no snacks in between both meals aside from drinks. read more

Have not yet flown with them but after extensive dealings with their customer service would NOT recommend this airline at all. Used a travel agent who booked flights through Expedia from Peru to Brazil for April. With COVID we had to cancel the trip with tentative plans for the end of 2021. Even though they list "no change fees." There are "overage costs due to changing your air to the new air vs booking new air." Sounds like a change fee! Even though everything is listed as economy their are different classes. Mine at O and P. And to upgrade or even downgrade to an S class has charges. Attempting to use $535 worth of credit on a $203 class O flight and I would still owe $65. Or attempting to use $535 worth of credit on a one way flight when the flight RT is $488. It we utilize my whole credit and I would still owe $261. And this is credit from a flight that they originally canceled and rebooked me without my consent to a day before (which wouldn't have worked with the itinerary) with a 10+ layover when it was originally 3 hours. Completely ridiculous and just a way to price gouge. Seems pretty in line with all the other terrible reviews for this airlines. It took 90 minutes for a 8 minute baggage check in. Flying with my mom who has trouble walking and required wheelchair assistance. The staff was very helpful. A pleasant experience from start to finish. Now that they've merged into one single evil corporate entity (LATAM) they get away with charging exorbitant prices for direct flights between NYC and Santiago, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, and squeezing their coach passengers into tiny seats in which the average person barely fits. Terrible customer service so far. My flight is coming up in August and just spent a while on phone with customer service. All we were trying to do is update their system with a lap infant. First, they charge for it which is not the case in the US. OK, not a big deal, I can get over that. When trying to pay though they said our card was "rejected". I called Amex immediately and they said they found no such charge attempted. Since it registered like this in their system our account is completely locked and the only way to fix this is go in person. Their is no phone number for their in person office. When asked if we could lock the price and just pay at the airport they said we will likely just pay more. All around very surprising. On August I bought a round trip ticket Jfk - Guayaquil for $1,247.90 they charged my debit card $2,247.90 I claimed my $990 and they reimbursed me, but when I was trying to return from Guayaquil I found out my return ticket was canceled, and I ended buying a one way ticket for the amount of $1,959.00. The website has technical difficulties about half the time. For example, I booked a more-legroom upgrade and the upgrade didn't post to my itinerary for almost 24 hours. About 50% of the time I've tried to log in to see an itinerary, I haven't been able to. Phone calls to customer service are unsatisfactory. Food in business class is barely acceptable; in coach, it's gross. Flight attendants in my experience have been unfriendly. The new 787 business class product is very nice and I slept very well. WORST AIRLINE EXPERIENCE EVER! I recently flew on LATAM from JFK to Santiago, Chile (SCL) for an 8-day ski vacation in the Andes. Due to a weather-related connecting flight delay, my baggage did not make the connection at JFK. Thus, when I arrived at SCL the next morning, my bags did not show up on the baggage carousel. I filed a claim with LATAM Baggage Claim agents who told me that my bags should arrive that afternoon. They assured me that my bags would be delivered to me at my hotel. LATAM did NOT deliver the bags and I spent my entire vacation with only what I carried in my carry-on bag (fortunately, I carried my ski boots, helmet and one set of ski clothing). I called them every day, three times a day and still got no delivery. Moreover, their story shifted from one day to the next. To date, I have called them 25 times for a total of 3 hours, 26 minutes on the phone. They have called me four times totaling 17 minutes, always in response to a call I had initiated. Fast forward to today: I returned to the U.S. two weeks ago and still don't have my baggage. In an ironic twist, my skis were finally delivered to the hotel just a few days ago, ten days after I left! But, there is no sign of my suitcase. I call the airline almost every day and still can't get a good answer on where my suitcase might be or when they might deliver it back to the U.S. I've engaged them on Twitter but only get the same tired, recycled assurances and apologies that fall flat. They tell me that 'some cases are more difficult than others' and to 'monitor my contact media.' Their false assurances are maddening. I am disgusted by the poor customer service and the lack of meaningful information. I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST FLYING ON LATAM. Everyone who I dealt with in customer service was sweet, helpful and efficient. I was in shock as this would never occur in America. We took a few more very smooth, pleasant flights when them within Peru. The second incredible experience we had was when we actually missed a flight because we were 30 minutes late or so. When we went to check our bags the manager let us know we would miss boarding and without any extra charge or hesitation just booked us another flight an hour later!!! Unheard of. Worse customer service. They don't care about the customer, specially if you buy any ticket with miles. In addition, their food in the plane is awful and the comfort of the seat terrible. Skip it!! They better alternative in the market. read more

Used this airline to travel to Peru this spring break, I really love the choices of the in flight entertainment, so many movies and shows to choose from, took away two stars because the food is disgusting. I'm sorry, I understand it's airline food but still, I've traveled on planes and had decent meals before, the food they serve is so slimy and tasteless. I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning from the trout I opted for, one thing I have to commend them for is their clean bathrooms, the fact that it's stocked with soap, moisturizer and refreshing wipes. Some of the flight attendants on my flight were a bit snappy too. But thanks LATAM, for having my baggage on time and getting me to my destinations safely! read more

I would like to begin by saying this is the first and LAST time that I am using LATAM Airlines as a U.S. citizen. This is the worst service I have ever experienced. I booked a roundtrip flight from Cartagena, Colombia to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on June 5th, 2019. After booking my flight, I called a few hours later to see if I could extend my layover in Sao Paolo, Brazil to a stopover, then taking my connecting flight from Sao Paolo, Brazil to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on June 23rd, 2019 due to a personal issue. I called immediately because I understand that any flight changes without a penalty must be made within 24 hrs. The first time I called, I was told a specialist would contact me to make the change. After 3 hours no one contacted me, and I decided to call again. I was given a case number and told again that a specialist would call me. The following morning after no one contacted me after 7 hours, I decided to call for the 3rd time, this time they connected me to a specialist and told me I would pay a fare difference of 28 USD. I agreed and gave the agent my debit card number, the card was rejected, and I asked if I could provide another card and the agent told me that if your card is rejected over the phone, the ONLY way to pay for any ticket change is to go to a LATAM office. I live in Washington DC which is not near any LATAM office. LATAM only has 3 U.S.-based locations. The agent decided to open a new case for me, so I can give a different card number, she told me someone would have to call me. Again after a few hours, no one called so I called for the 4th time, I was told that I could pay the fare difference and the new agent told me that I could NOT pay with a debit card, I had to pay with a credit card which I don't own, and the other agent did NOT tell me before I used my debit card the first time which is why it was rejected. Then I had to call back for a 5th time after I borrowed the credit card information from a family member and I was told that my fare difference of 28 USD was now 300 USD in the span of two hours. I proceeded to explain how I'd been calling since I booked my flight to book this stopover and was given incorrect information again and again. By the time I placed my 6th phone call, the agent told me there was nothing they could do even after I did everything I was told to do and refused to help me fix my issue and book my stopover. By this time 24hrs had passed, and they wanted me to charge me 300 USD for a flight change and 300 USD for the fare difference even after I had been calling all day to prevent this exact problem. This is the WORST experience I have had with an airline. I have shared this terrible experience on many travel Facebook groups to warn other U.S. travelers to Brazil and Latin America to NOT use LATAM airlines especially now that U.S. citizens do not need a visa to travel to Brazil. From this point, I will use other airlines traveling to Latin America and I suggested the same to other U.S. travelers. read more

This review is for LATAM as a company. Last Thurs. my mom and cousin both traveled to Lima from JFK. It was an emergency trip for my cousin since her brother was in intensive care in the hospital. In Lima, my cousin took a flight to Arequipa with a return flight of Sat. 1/25. Unfortunately, her brother passed away yesterday, Fri. 1/24. My mom had traveled to Arequipa from Lima to be with my cousin. They called LATAM yesterday to have their flights rebooked for Sunday so that they could attend the burial this afternoon. They were asked to provide documentation of my cousin's death, which they sent in and it was determined that their flights could not be changed. I found out this morning. That's when I went to Facebook to voice my concern over the situation. Customer service had a very apathetic way of dealing with this situation. As I explained on messenger to LATAM, we all have policies and procedures to follow in the workplace. However, this was a very terrible time in our family and the human connection was nonexistent. I have never had a need to voice a complaint of this magnitude as I believe we are all humans and capable of understanding the loss of a loved one. My cousin and mom traveled back to Lima without paying their final respects to my cousin. This is the last time we do business with a company that is so far removed from human emotion that it makes me wonder what kind of people work in this company and allow themselves to follow these rules set forth by LATAM. I'm extremely disappointed and hope that these policies change. read more

I paid $119.00 for ONE luggage that was under 50 pounds from Colombia to Miami. It was the BIGGEST rip off ever. That's 1/4 of what my ticket cost! The biggest rip off ever! read more
