This was a super easy flight to and from Nashville. I have TSA Pre-check, as does my family, but for some reason, theirs was not showing up on our tickets. The agent was super helpful and fixed it so it would show up for us when we reprinted our tickets. The pre-check line was only 5 minutes long instead of 35. We had a 6:50 flight and arrived early, anticipating delays, but there were none. We sat at the Garden State Diner, which was super fun and had excellent coffee drinks. We left a few minutes early and arrived early to Nashville. I was able to rest and sleep during the entire trip. The Nashville airport was wonderful. They have many stores to keep us occupied at the terminal, and there was ample seating while we waited for our flight. We were actually allowed to board early, leave early, and arrive early. The snacks and drink service were great. I actually watched a whole movie (great selections) and had no issues. There was a bit of turbulence, but the pilot told us we would be hitting it and was reassuring. We landed at Terminal A, which was delightful. Flying in and out of here was very smooth for me. No delays. Good communication. Easy getting boarded onto the plane. I needed to ask the staff member at the boarding desk a question and she was very friendly and polite. There's plenty of seating and the announcements are easy to hear. If you're lucky you can find a spot with an outlet, too, to help making charging your phone or devices a breeze. Internet signal wasn't super strong, but enough to get some work done. read more

Took a flight to Dublin from EWR in business class. Had a lovely time. There was some difficulty finding online images of the expected meal entrees for in flight dining, but was happy with what I received. Their updated planes allotted an experience of actual full sleep as well which I was not expecting. Really enjoyed the updated travel bags provided with a facial mist to keep your nerves at ease, a dental kit, sleep mask, slippers and tissues. The meals in business are served with chilled flatware and they had good weight to them. Included are the images of the French chicken breast entree and the morning Greek yogurt. read more

I was very disappointed each time I was dealing with united from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Arriving into the airport we were stuck on the runway for at least 30 minutes so we could be taken to our gate. Upon arrival, united lost my luggage and somehow it ended up in another terminal. I had to wait about an hour for it to make its way back over here. How does that even happen if everyone else is baggage made it to the right destination? On my flight back I was waiting in line just to drop off my luggage. One of the United team members walked off instead of calling me forward so when I walked forward to check my luggage in I still around aimlessly while other staff did not know what to do. I paid extra for a seat that showed only two sets at the back but when I was on board, it actually was a three seater row? The chicken sandwich was stale and chewy and didn't expect it to be that bad. Our flights from NY to Los Angeles was delayed twice and seating was extra slow with staff being rude to their passengers? Wow! There was NO TV on the 777 and we have to use our own equipment wt, laptop and IPad and IPhones to access their flight entertainment. The pilot promised to a th up on the flight to be able to arrive on time to compensate for the actual delay but didn't actually happen. I have to cancel my Uber and pay extra to book another one? I'm really disappointed with UA, hope that they do better in the future and be more competitive with other airlines who have evolved in serving their customers and passengers better. I've flown United out of EWR three times and I always enjoy myself due to the terminal being loaded with places to shop, eat, and drink. It's a nice size and a very busy terminal. Normally the flights are on time and smooth, but on a recent flight that was scheduled to depart at 7 pm was cancelled at 5 pm as I was walking into the airport due to some lie they made up about not having enough air traffic control workers, but the next day I found out about the drones. Lies, lies, lies! That really pissed me off because they never even reached out to me to make it right or put me on another flight that evening or set me up with a room at a hotel close by. Nothing! I tried speaking to a couple United check-in employees about it and they were zero help and said contact customer service about it, which is always a joke. So long story short, I had to get a car ride back home which is around 6 hours as I had work and plans the following day. That cost me an arm and a leg but do they care, Nope! I reached out to customer service about it a couple days later and they literally lied and said I missed my flight so they couldn't refund or credit me for the flight which is disgusting because they automatically rebooked me for a flight the next day without even notifying me and then had the audacity to say I didn't have a flight booked the day before. Wow! Luckily I had screenshotted my itinerary and then her tune changed to apologies when I sent it to her via text. That's such a scammer move on their part. How is a customer support person going to lie to me like that!? Wow! So she then proceeds to tell me they have to do an investigation and they'd contact me via email to let me know if they can refund my flight, my time, my stress, etc, plus the other traveling expenses I incurred within 45 days lol Did they? First off we shouldn't have even come to the Newark airport but you screwed up my husband's flight so we both came on a flight from Stockholm to Newark instead of Stockholm to Amsterdam . Then because the Stockholm flight was delayed we were in a rush because we had to go through passport control and the line was soooo long. Then we had to get our luggage and recheck it and it wasn't there. We waited and waited and it ended up coming out on a totally different baggage claim area! Then we paid someone to check the luggage there and literally ran, took a train to another terminal and ran to the gate for our connection to SFO. Then they said the flight was delayed. Then ten minutes later we were moved to yet another gate. And now we board in two hours. I tell you this is madness. Not to mention when we left sfo for our trip we were delayed almost four hours because of another technical issue on your planes and almost missed our connecting flight! And you lost our luggage! Never in my life have I seen an example of more useless employees or a worse customer experience model. I'm sure this is partially about the airport but the nasty attitude of the United employees working this morning really sealed the deal. Why do we pay $1000 plus for a domestic flight and the employees are rude, not helpful and we literally have to do everything ourselves? These people can't even take a bag at the bag drop without you first tagging it yourself and waiting through two lines, then if it's overweight, they can't even take payment, you have to go back and do the new tag yourself and wait through the line again. They won't be polite when telling you to do so, quite condescending actually, even though there are no signs that state these directives. All the United employees just stand around laughing and talking like they're at the bar while people are panicked about getting their bag in on time. I flew in and out of EWR on United a few times in the past few weeks and I had no issues at all. The boarding process was smooth and orderly. The gates were laid out with workstations everywhere. Terminal C gates were more modern than Terminal A gates, but still, the service was good and polite. The United Express planes I got on were a bit tight, but that is the case with commuter aircrafts. The one I took back to PVD had a nice carry on luggage section between first and coach, so all those carry on had a place onboard. Great experience. read more

I've flown with United since when they first merged with Continental airlines back in 2010. I loved in Continental Airlines. In the very beginning of this merge, United system was used predominantly. I have many family members that worked with Continental airlines, and now under United. It was shared that United system was not as user-friendly and/or useful as compared to Continental airlines. In the very beginning, there were a lot of hiccups and issues, and most especially with Customer Service. I had a few issues of my own that I never reported here on Yelp or Google. After flying several times with the airline through the years, I've not had any issues. Since I reached the gold status, I get upgraded automatically to first class more often and at times to premium seating, which is very nice perk. All in all, great experiences. read more

I was here many times to travel for business or pleasure. I was most recently here to fly to and from Barcelona for my Mediterranean vacation cruise. My United TSA pre-check went smoothly. I also enjoyed my United Club, which was close to our C Terminal gate. My 787-10 UA120 flight to Barcelona boarded on time so I was happy. My flights to and from Barcelona were on schedule despite all the problems EWR had with their flights in early June. Our return flight 787-10 UA121 also departed and arrived on time to Terminal B (not United's Terminal C). Overall I was happy with both roundtrip flights. Our return to Terminal B Passport and Customs Clearance was much slower due to the many incoming international flights of other airlines at Terminal B. Last year United's Terminal C international passport and customs clearance was much faster than Terminal B passport and customs clearance. My roundtrip airfare cost $1,480. I love United's non-stop premier economy international flights. I frequently get upgraded, but not this time. More to come regarding our off site parking at EWR. read more

Arrived on an early flight and couldn't check my bags for an upcoming flight that was leaving 12 hours later. Staff told me I would have to get my bags from baggage claim and wait 6 hours before I could check them for my international flight. I went to baggage claim and talked to Laura and she went ahead and rerouted by bags to my final destination and gave me a courtesy call to let me know they would be on my upcoming flight. She was very professional, attentive and stepped right up in helping resolve this dilemma and enabling me to go to the lounge and not waiting at baggage claim with my bags for 6 hours and wasting time. No Service for Customers If I could give no stars for my most recent experience, I would... Day 1 First, @Unitedairlines sends me a flight cancellation only a few hours of its departure and chose not to automatically rebook me. I understand technical issues happen. So, this is not my issue. It is the customer service I received or lack thereof. I get rebooked on TAP airline to make a connection to get home. Long story short, my luggage never left the original destination. I'm highly disappointed in my ENTIRE experience with United. There was no empathy, urgency, nor respect. I've spoken with several agents over the past few days, regarding my luggage and honestly, they all failed me. No one seemed to care, no one went the extra mile to reassure me that things will be handled expeditiously. A few noteworthy agents are Jackie, Carolyn and Elsa, all were supposedly on the United premier baggage team. They are not proactively providing me with updates and when asked if they could grant me a temporary allowance to have 2 carry on bags for my upcoming trips, it was denied. Based on my experiences so far, I am strongly reconsidering whether I dedicate my air travels and loyalty to United in 2026. This has been extremely frustrating and their people simply don't seem to care. What is the point of maintaining an elite status if this is the level of service received? Im usually the biggest champion for United but if asked whether I'd recommend United, I'd overwhelmingly say No, not even to my worst enemy. No one deserves this kind of treatment. Day 2 I still have no information related to my luggage. The customer service agents don't seem to care because it's not their situation... I can't believe this is how they treat customers... I've received no status updates and it seems no one has made a REAL effort to contact their Star Alliance partner, TAP, that last had my bag. I called TAP and they gave me info but said they couldn't do anything for me directly because United is responsible for my baggage. I had to book an airline fast since I had to head to New Jersey for a show. United Airlines had the cheapest rates for decent window seating for economy seating. I was worried about flying another airline since I am a Delta girl but the service was welcoming. I felt better that the process was a breeze. I got to the gate easily and they had staff there ready to help if people had issues with their tickets. I used the United Airlines app and it was pretty easy to navigate. I just clicked my ticket and went on my way. I got to my seat and took some pretty awesome footage of the sky during take-off. I enjoyed it so much. They offered drinks and snacks! The true value of any service is how they treat their customers when they screw up, and we found out United is horrendous at this. We planned a once in a lifetime trip to Japan on United (this trip operated in conjunction with ANA). Our original trip was for 9 days. However, on Sunday, 8/25/24, 5 days into the trip we received a message from ANA stating that there was an impending typhoon and that "in case delay or cancellation is expected due to bad weather etc you may change your flight reservation (transfer flight) or request a refund without any handling fee, regardless of the actual flight status." That Sunday evening:     ⁃    huge storm that flooded our area in Kyoto     ⁃    Expected Typhoon Shanshan landfall on Tuesday thru Thursday, which meant that the only day we could fly out and make it home was Monday     ⁃    Anticipated Shinkansen service stop, planes grounded     ⁃    Made call to United customer service to ask about rebooking     ⁃    Was told due to a system issue/limitation I would have to cancel my current flight home and book a different flight and then request a refund     ⁃    At no point did costumer agent say I may not get a refund due to the type of ticket I purchased which aligned with the verbiage in ANA airline's email     ⁃    I researched flights that evening, booked new ones home, and called back United to cancel my old flight.  This agent also took care of submitting my refund requests since the system would not allow me to change my original flight Monday 8/26/24: received refund denial emails from United Monday night into Tuesday early morning:     ⁃    spent 3 hours on text with United agent and a supervisor to hash out my refund issue and still could not get it resolved. At one point a customer service rep insisted that I had booked our original tickets through a travel agent. I said no, we booked directly on the United website and we have the printout and proof etc. He insisted that we had booked through a travel agent and then immediately hung up. To say that was extremely rude and annoying, especially after going through hours of waiting and transfer calls etc and losing another night of sleep over this right after getting back on the 24 hours of travel from Japan to LGA, is being very nice. I wanted to throw my phone at him if I could. We were finally able to get through to a manager and put in a dispute and are now waiting for their response. Not only did we have to cut our once in a lifetime vacation short by 3 out of 9 days, but we had to buy 4 tickets on the high speed train to go from Kyoto to Tokyo in order to catch the new flight at short notice. That was an extra $400. We were supposed to get a short flight between the 2 cities according to our original itinerary. We had to forfeit our already paid days at the Air BnB, which was another several hundred dollars. And then the new tickets for Tokyo to Chicago to NY cost us an additional $3400 for 4. So we're out a total of almost $5000 between the lost days at the BnB and paying for new tickets on the train and the now longer flight home (original flight was direct). Thanks, United!! 9/4/24 After multiple days of waiting with no reply, we tried calling our credit card company to try and have them somehow help us with the dispute. No luck. We also called ANA to see if they could help since they operated that flight in conjunction with United. They said no, you have to call United since you booked with United. After months of attempting to resolve this issue amicably with ASAP agents, speaking with countless "customer service reps" from around the globe literally, I believe that their "noface" agency has no intention of refunding my money as the agents always give me the same lip service with the same canned response, "it's being processed"! I call BULLSHIT on this, your agency is fundamentally shady & dishonest and this awful experience has added unnecessary stress and anxiety to the worst year of my life! Bad Customer Service and Dangerous Practices I was flying United when I experienced a long 2 1/2 hour mechanical delay. The gate agent and app were unable to get me to my destination for several days. However I was able to book travel for money on the next flight out. I purchased the ticket and had the gate agent merge my reservations and would deal with the refund the next day. I was reassured by the agent since it was mechanical I would be reimbursed. However, when I filed my request for reimbursement, United told me their was no recorded of a mechanical delay and refused my reimbursement. Not only is this contrary to way I was told, and poor customer services, it show that United is not being truthful in the mechanical repairs being completed on their airlines. I never get upgrade and constantly delayed for an hour on the tarmac ...5th time in 2 months I'm on the tarmac for 2 hours ...always a delay, this time they are short staffed on honey dippers and they are waiting to empty the toilets read more

They say they PARTNER with other airlines such as JetBlue but not really. You're locked into mileage plus and you can't transfer miles. Even if you want to use them to upgrade it cost s money.
