We booked Delta Airlines for an international trip (8+ hour flight). My husband is 6'4" and standard coach is way to small for him. The most positive aspect of this flight was the staff, hands down super nice & professional. We booked comfort + because of the extra leg space but there was nothing comfort about it except a little extra leg room. The seats were unbearable the lower back was completely con-caved & painful. Unfortunately the flight was full so we couldn't even switch seats. We stuffed pillows behind our back to help a little. The dinner was a spicy rice (ok if you like spicy) with what looked like chicken. Lufthansa does a much better job with meals comparatively. For breakfast we received an egg on English muffin. Only 4 bathrooms for such a huge plane is definitely not good... they said they would clean them throughout the flight, but every time I used it, it was a mess... disappointing for sure. Been awhile since I flew Delta Terminal A Newark airport. Well arrived 3 am for 6am flight to Japan and other airline check-ins are open.... Line already started and the Delta employees show up 415 am.... Unless it has changed I thought show time was 3 hours for international and 2 hour for domestic flights. We showed up early since the gov shutdown and issues with the air traffic controllers... so does that mean the check-in section can be even more lazy and who's up when they want? Delta destroyed my luggage during a recent flight from Italy to NYC. My bag was structurally damaged and emerged with a bent frame. Delta baggage refused my damage claim stating that bent frames do not constitute 'damage'. It was pretty obvious that heavy baggage had been thrown on my bag and the impact and weight of that baggage damaged my bag's steel tube frame. I spent the past few weeks appealing to their common sense but apparently Delta baggage has none. How can you bend the steel support frame in a bag and not call it damage?? read more

I got to the counter to drop my bag 1 hour 15 minutes before departure. No line in security. I had everything set traveling with 2 kids. I was prechecked in. In the line there was a family in front of me. The got to the flight. When my turn came for a flight that was apparently overbooked the agent said i can flight but I can't drop my bags. I was confused but with 2 kids I found someone to pick up the bags and just travel with my carry ons. Finally I got to security where they said that the airline said someone with my name was being looked for so i was sent to security area. After 20 minutes in there where the guy was joking around and didn't ask me one question. Then he said you can go. Clearly the airline was delaying me due to an oversold flight. I made it the the gate for them to tell me that the plane was closed. Then they said you have to go on the 7am flight. So I asked is there.one to.newark instead and the lady said no without even looking. Then she told me.to hurry up because their shift ended and they have to go. I had no.choice but to stay almost 12 hours in the airport. 4::15 came with a huge line to check.in.and the supervisor is sitting texting I even took a pic. Finally the agent came. My 7 year old special ed child didn't have seat assigned. I asked for seats in the same line and row because my kids were exhausted and I didn't want them.falling on strangers laps. The answer was we cant. Apparently empathy is not a thing for the crew. One of my kids ended up on a passengers shoulder which made them uncomfortable. This could have being avoided. All around. My husband, 2 friends and I got off a cruise ship in NYC. We had all booked FIRST CLASS tickets from JFK to SEATAC. We arrived at the airport early and checked our bags. We asked at the check in where we could find the Delta lounge. We were given instructions and once we arrived at the lounge we were told because we hadn't arrived from an international flight we were not entitled to go into the Delta lounge, even though we had purchased FIRST CLASS tickets. Our family was hoping that now there is a Delta Hub in Seattle we could use Delta more often. We certainly will not! We have flown on many different airlines and purchased first class tickets. I have been using delta for the past 5 years and they never let me down. 1st time at the delta terminal in Newark but there isn't much to review here.. standard experience but it is a little tight. There are not too many food options once you make it past the security check point to enter the gate so you might want to eat before coming in. There is a Japanese spot and then I think only the delta sky lounge. There is a lot to eat though before you enter so just check your flight status and eat before you come in read more

I had always been flying delta exclusively but I have to say I felt disrespected and insulted by their staff. One of our checked luggage came out bursted with a big crack on the bottom. Our clothes were everywhere. We went to the baggage service immediately and run into two arrogant, disinterested staffs. Basically, they first told us zip it close and if it can close there's nothing they would do. Then I mentioned I don't know if all contents are there, an elderly lady told us 'just count it, can't you count? You don't even have many stuff!' Please, we didn't even have 5 minutes to go through the content:(( After finally showing them the crack, which they could no longer deny damage to the suitcase, and figuring out what's missing, the lady reluctantly started filing the claim while telling me to read the coverage policy myself. Then she asked for the suitcase price-- it was an expensive gift from my boyfriend's parents when he left China so we don't have a receipt for it. His parents informed us it cost around 2800 CNY, because it was some very expensive Chinese brand. I calculated the corresponding USD (400+) and the lady started yelling 'how's that even possible what kind of suitcase is that expensive?! I need to see the receipt or you tell me the brand.' So I went on Taobao (the online shopping website they got the suitcase) searching for the suitcase and managed to find a very similar (updated version of the suitcase) one, showed her the search result, and she refused to read. She filled in a number reluctantly, wrote down a phone number and told me to call them claiming she has no idea what happens next. I asked again what the number does and she told me they will deal with the suitcase, she has no idea what will happen. During this entire 30 minutes she treated us like piece of s**t as if we broke her suitcase or we were trying to fake a damage even after seeing the crack and bursted rubber trim! There's absolutely no reason to inform us any piece of instruction as if 1) we couldn't have read for ourselves 2) we were two greedy idiots 3) it was against her will to be there. They mailed me back my Patagonia jacket! I can't believe it. I must have left it where I was sitting. They called me and asked if I'd forgotten anything. I was super confused as to why a Delta employee was asking me this, but confessed I'd forgotten my jacket on the flight. He asked the make and color. Before I knew it, he requested I pay for the FedEx cost for shipping and sure enough, I received my jacket today. Yes, they are sometimes delayed. True, EWR is not a great area. And I agree the check in process is not pleasant...BUT someone on that staff is an angel :) I don't have too many Yelp reviews over my 10 years as a member, but I thought this was worth mentioning. Wow, reading the previous reviews I was terrified of what my experience would be with Delta at this airport. This was my first time using Delta in NJ and it was uneventful. Thankfully my travels were smooth and the staff were cool. I was able to breeze through pre-check with no delays. The plane had individual tvs with some great movies, games and music which is outstanding for those long International flights. I had no issues with customer service. The food served on plane was okay, I was thankful it was complimentary. They also gave us complimentary headphones, sleeping masks and a bottle of water. #winningwiththefreebies, lol. Nowadays most airlines nickel and dime you with everything extra. The seats aren't that roomy but you can pay extra for the additional space. As of now I wouldn't hesitate to fly Delta again at this airport as long as the price is right. read more

The reason this review is here is because Delta airline has some sort of contracting agreement with airfrance, and I cannot get through to anyone at airports. Hoping someone at corporate sees this review and contacts me at kmhf88@aol.com. I am Frank Kellogg and can provide baggage tag numbers and file reference numbers privately. I had a flight from CDG (Paris International Airport) to RAK (Marrakesh Airport) on Saturday 10/2/21 arriving at Marrakesh at 4:40pm. When I arrived at Marrakesh I noticed my baggage missing. I stood in line for 3 hours waiting to report the incident (this is lost travel time that I spend money for, which I would like compensation for). Then the police officer at Marrakesh airport issued me a "property irregularity report". And then said to me that the baggage would be arriving the next day (Sunday, 10/3/21) in Marrakesh airport. Unfortunately by this time I would be nearly 4 hours away in a different part of the country (Rabat and Casablanca airport). The officer did say that the baggage will be delivered from Marrakesh to Casablanca (which was still 1 hour away from Rabat where I would be staying). It is now 10/6/21 and still no mention or update from the airport. The airport number is not reliable and disconnects on all attempts to call them. Causing me great distraction and inconvenience while I am trying to enjoy my time and also do volunteer work. Compensation here will be respectfully demanded from all parties responsible in the mishandling of my luggage. Thank you in advance for your swift response. read more

I would give NO STARS if possible. I just bought an Eagle Creek Warrior Bag days before my international trip. On my return flight someone tried to break into my luggage, the front compartment and tore off a lock zipper on the front compartment and left the bag half open on the carousel for pick up. Just my belt was stolen. Outraged I went straight to baggage claim in which staff members did not acknowledge my presence (being only the second person there) and finally took my claim into a computer and handed me a UPS shipping label and a confirmation number. I asked for a box and they said they have an agreement with UPS that they take baggage in clear bags. If I didn't ask how is that possible, because clearly there is nowhere to guarantee secure placement of the shipping label and there is a highly chance of further damage to my luggage during this shipment for repairs. He staff looked at me like I was retarded and said "no we have an agreement with UPS". Clearly, they are confused. And say this with confidence after confirming this "agreement" with delta customer service over the phone when the UPS rep rejected my baggage in a plastic bag and said they do not have this agreement with any airline and I have to pay $10 for custom packaging. I called once more to complain and the Delta representative once more said they have this agreement with UPS accepting "clear bagged baggage" for transport and they do not pay for packaging. Also, if I want a refund I should go and file a complaint on their site. Which makes no guarantee to me at all. What a load of bullshit, retards and thieves. After paying for the packaging all I can hope for is that I they repair my luggage. It was expensive and the front compartment is useless unless the zipper is fixed and I can lock it. My flights on Delta are normally enjoyable, they have movie players with a wide selection of popular movies that you can watch for free and their complementary snacks are more than just peanuts. I'm almost always satisfied with Delta plane rides. Unfortunately, today's flight did not go the same as the others. I'm currently sitting on a motionless plane in the New Jersey airport waiting for take off. The plane was supposed to leave at about 6:00 am. It's 10:00 am. I and many others have been sitting in cramped airplane seats for over four hours. Their excuse is an engine failure yet instead of transferring us to a functioning plane they have been repeatedly "deplaning" us and re-boarding us on the plane, always saying the same thing "We're having a few engine problems, they'll be fixed shortly." So we pack up all our belongings, leave the plane, sit in the terminal for a half an hour, and reboard. This has happened multiple times. Four hours go by and we're still sitting here. I am so frustrated and stressed on behalf of the people who are missing connecting flights right now. The flight attendants and pilots have made brief apology announcements but other than that, we've been sitting in silence with little to no sympathy from the crew. I'm so disappointed with how Delta is handling this situation. When the Delta planes are running smoothly, they're peaceful and nice. But when something goes wrong, the crew obviously does not know how to handle themselves. If you have a plane ride booked with Delta, pray that everything goes as planned. read more

The disrespect this company has towards their customers is unbelievable! Our flight which was supposed to leave at 7:55 pm ended up leaving at 9:00am the day after, instead of telling us the flight was cancelled from the start they made us wait, and would give us a different story every time. They did not pay for hotel or transportation, which they had promised they would. They gave us false information, and we were treated unbelievably bad. One of their staff members even told me to leave her desk, that she would not attend my needs, and that she had nothing to do with what was going on, I filed complaints on multiple employees from this company and ask for the money they promised from their headquarters and they did not listen to us, instead they sided with their rude, disrespectful employees, and did not help us what so ever. This company gave us checks with no funds to cover our hotel and transportation, they never gave us the money we were entitled and promised. They are liars and I don't trust anything they say.
