Lasting Art is a great place to source your flowers!! It's definitely worth stopping by if you're considering artificial flowers for your occasion. My mom and I were searching online for months of how to source quality artificial florals for my upcoming wedding (she's done real fresh flower arrangements for weddings previously but we're opting for artificial for mine for our sanity lol) and we decided to stop by Lasting Art first before placing any orders. We spent less than half the amount than we would have for the same quantity as online and this way we could see the quality and choose our desired spend ourselves instead of risking it with online pics and mediocre reviews (like Amazon) We're so satisfied and the owners were super helpful and nice to us! The selection of the artificial flowers is just mind blowing. Also some flowers are so well made that they feel like real.

Wow. I never knew such a place existed, but of course here it would be in New York, where they have everything. This is a super tiny place absolutely filled with amazing faux flowers of every shade, size and species. I made a big, flower-filled headdress for the Easter Parade and got all my stuff here: giant peonies, stargazer lilies, strands of cherry blossoms. All of it looked amazingly real. Some of the blossoms I wanted had super long, heavy stems on them. I knew there was no way I'd be able to cut those stems off myself, and I only needed the blooms. If you want artificial flowers check out this place. The store is small but they have a nice selection. this place is packed to the gills, flowers floor to ceiling and in every crevice. If you don't know what you want I wouldn't suggest coming here, you'd be overwhelmed. Its best to have a working idea of what you're looking for. For instance, I knew I wanted large tropical leaves and white flowers, this kept me from getting side tracked by other floral combinations that came to mind as I searched through their inventory and it kept my helper focused. I'm a florist and event designer, so I have worked with many companies over the years. Lasting Art is one of the best suppliers I have worked with. They always have a great selection, they're VERY good with quality control, and their professional/wholesale pricing is excellent too. Keiko is a professional with a no-nonsense attitude. She knows everything there is to know about silk flowers and succulents. Whenever I needed something in a different size or color, she always knew if it was available, and how long it would take to get it. Yes, the staff can be a little abrupt, but they're working in high gear filling orders all the time. If you're looking to be coddled, this is not the store for you (looking at some of the previous reviewers, ahem). But if you're looking for THE best silk flowers, hanging greens, succulents, and other things of that nature - Lasting Art will make a lasting impression. read more

4.5 stars... One of the greatest things about NYC is how like businesses end up settling in the same area. In most parts of the country you would never set up a business right next to a directly competing business, you would go and find an area where there was no competition to attempt to create a monopoly in that area. Not in Manhattan. We're not only talking about Koreatown, Chinatown, Curry Lane, and other cuisines and ethnic communities. If you want fabric, furs, jewelry, home decor, or flowers, just go to the block that is practically dedicated to it. It would be foolish not to open a business on the appropriate block or at least neighborhood. Where everyone in New York is about speed and efficiency, no one has time to travel out of their way to just browse one store when they can stick to a single block. That's where 28th street between 6-7th ave comes into play. The flower district. If you want real flowers, fake flowers, other plants, vases, or other related items, here's where you start. I was looking for some artificial flowers for the apartment and went into every shop on the block. Many had some options but there was four stores were completely dedicated to nothing but fake flowers. When averaging out price, selection, quality, and layout, Lasting Art was by far the best option. It was truly the Goldilocks of artificial flower shops. They had inexpensive flowers that still looked great as well as more expensive flowers that even felt like the real deal. Like most of the other shops on the block the service wasn't much to speak of but everything was clearly laid out and marked so I didn't need any hands-on help. I was a little bothered seeing the $5 fee for purchases under $30 sign behind the register as my two bunches of flowers only added up to $11 but they didn't charge me anything extra. This may be for credit card purchases or perhaps they don't follow this rule religiously. Not closed. Went late March 2018 around noon, and they had a sign posted out front saying "opening late today, come back at 3pm." For a store that supposedly closes daily at 4:30pm, that's pretty pathetic. Luckily this is still the flower district, and there are other stores on the block that sell fake flowers. I went into CC Floral Trading at 139 W. 28th st, and got some gorgeous (not cheap) silk flowers. The pics from this place are so pretty I'd love to try again another time, but not sure it's worth the risk of finding it closed off-hours again. read more

Competing to be the worst florist in NYC. And trying to get assaulted by customers, apparently. Customer 1 (woman in front of us) : Woman trying to return something she purchased. Owner refuses. He curses her out and tells her "there is no customer service here!" in crazy FOB english. Owner slams fists on table and throws objects around. Frustrated and probably scared woman throws her items in his face and leaves. Customer 2 (us): wife and I arrive after being told on phone that they have a couple of items we are looking for. When we ask where the items are, man says "not here". Clearly, they are there. We try to check out with the items. Man refuses, "no, I will not sell them to you". We insist, because we spent $20 bucks taking a cab to get there in rush hour traffic. He says no credit cards despite 20$ purchase. We leave 20 in cash and walk out. Not sure if negative yelp review is sufficient course of action here. I should have punched this guy in the face. Horrendous, baffling experience--unimaginable at any florist in the city. There are tons of options in NYC, and therefore zero reasons to spend a dime here. read more

This is an extraordinary store for anything you want to make with a floral theme. Nestled appropriately in the floral district, Lasting Art sells artificial flowers only. But what silk flowers they are. Yes, outside they do have cheaper flowers you can get for 99 cents, $2. But inside, wow! You are talking about the mecca for silks, some so stunning you have to touch them to make sure they are not real. The prices for the higher end flowers reflect the quality. Peonies and roses can range to $8. But you are talking show stoppers, in color, in simulation of the real thing. The sheer range and variety here is dazzling. If you want to jazz up your home with a knock out bouquet, fancy up your Easter bonnet, or make a gift basket someone will treasure, this is the spot. I was so suprised at the many beautiful selections that this place has to offer. It's so unfortunate that the customer service sucks and the people working there are so unhappy. My motto is to spend your money at businesses that give great customer service with a smile. The staff at Lasting Art wouldn't answer my questions about color or different choices. I was abruptly told, "that's it!" when I asked about the length of a few stems. No one attempted to help me despite my requests for assistance. Probably one of the rudest stores in NYC! This place is NOT closed! I suppose there may have been a time where they were temporarily closed but it was bustling today. Went there to check out their selection of artificial flowers and they have a decent selection. From flowers to knock off succulents and leaves - amazing stuff. Personally I love the real thing but this time I was requested to find something that will last and they had a good selection. If you need items for a wedding or baby shower - they even have the little dollies at a great price per dozen. I did steer clear from the flowers that had tiny white balls coming out of them. They looked like microbeads and while it was meant to visually enhance the bouquet, they were falling all over the place and just knowing they were probably rolling around making its way into our environment (fish bellies, bird bellies, our own bellies eventually...) made me shudder. I have been a customer of Lasting Art for years. The staff are very nice and accommodating. They have a large variety of blossoms and greenery to chose from.
