I had a great experience at LASIK Plus. From the first consultation through my post op appt everyone in the office was friendly and knowledgable. Dr Pettinilli is very professional, caring, and experienced. He walked me through the entire procedure as it was happening and made me feel at ease. I now have 20/20 vision. The first hour after the surgery was probably the worst but they were honest about what you will experience. It was a burning sensation but I slept it off and woke up a few hours later like normal and could see perfectly. I'm so glad I decided to go through with the surgery at this facility. read more

I've gone through life with glasses/contacts since I was in 3rd grade. Now at 28 years old, my vision was -8.25 (anything past -12 and you don't qualify) so I finally decided enough is enough and went in for a LASIK consultation. Everyone in the office was so courteous and informative. The office itself was clean and well organized. They made me feel so much at ease that I booked my appt for Friday of that same week. By Saturday I had brand new eyes. It felt like a miracle. The procedure was completely painless. There were 2 separate machines, one for cutting the flap and the other is the laser. Each lasted 15-20 seconds per eye and that was it! There was some minimal discomfort when I got home from the procedure but nothing a cat nap can't fix. I recommend the LasikPlus paramus campus, but most of all I recommend doctor Petinelli. I have been wearing glasses/ contacts since I was 12, now thirteen years later I finally have the commitment and the courage to this surgery. So first, I wanted to go around to different office and get the first consultation since it is free, this is where they let you know if you are a candidate. So I went to The Vision institude in teaneck Nj with dr. HersH, which is a well know doctor and one of the most expensive, so I thought what a better way to know if I am a candidate and most importantly for what ex: lasik, prk etc... So i went and 5 min of exam the doctor came in and told me I was a canditate for PRK. So i was happy, although I already knew cause I had ask my optometrist. Anyways they didnt dialated my eyes or anything so then you go see the administration/sales person and talk number, they were charging $ 6400. WOW!!!!! So I moved on Next in my research list was LasikPlus, they had good reviews so I went for it. I was surprised at how Indepth their free exam was it took like a 40 mins I did spend sometime waiting in between waiting for the drops to dialate my eyes. Anyways I was please with their work so I was sold for that moment and for the price of $3700 was definitetly a good investment. The best thing is that I have one year no interest to pay it so I didnt have to pay it all at once. Which they will run your credit right there and there to see if you qualify, which most should as long as u have a good clean credit. It has been one week after PRK surgery in both eyes, the bandaid contacts are off and I am HAPPY! My vision was -4.5 on both eyes and now im great I think im almost 20/20 but I wont know until about another month because they are still healing, but i see great! Unlike other people that get PRK my recuperation was quick, 3 days after the surgery I was good enought to drive and go to school. I didnt have any pain the only thing is that the first and second day after the surgery I was really sensitive to light, specially the first day. But I was using my drops as directed and sleeping alottttt, and I mean alot!!!!! For those two days. And I also was taking the 2000 mg of vitamin C that they recommend taking and I beleive that help me alot. I would recommend everyone to take it, I think thats why my recuperation was pretty smooth and sleep a lot. also cover all your windows or at least your room, make it as dark as possible. And of course someone to take you to and from the center for the surgery and the next day for follow up (is a must) you wont be able to drive for sure. My insurance (tricare) covered most of it I payed only about $12 each for the both prescriptions and their price with out insurance is about $150- 175 each. Plus you have to buy the preservative free drops to put on every 20 min. I would recommend only buying like two maybe three boxes no more than that. Because I was slepping most of the time And I wasnt using the drops. And I had bought like 6 boxes I only used two. The boxes are about $10 each for the blink brand but there are others. I had dreamed of the day when I would see good without glasses or contacts, didnt think I ever would until this sugery came along. The actual surgery is 5 min and right before the surgery you will meet the doctor and ask him any questions or concerns you have about any risk. I can say this the best thing I have spend my money on. Entire staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Pettinelli and Dr. George are both exceptionally skilled and has the best bedside manner of any doctor that I've been to. My exam was explained to me in great detail and the Wavelight IntraLase procedure that I chose to have ultimately done went extremely well. I was surprise how painless and quick everything went. Furthermore, they are not pushy and I definitely did not get a sense that they just wanted to make money but instead, they really want what is best for the patient. Dr. George actually recommended to my wife to only have one eye done since she still had good nearsighted vision. The waiting time is absolutely ridiculous and unreasonable. They completely overbook appointments so you end up in the waiting room for hours before you are seen by the doctor. My appointment was at 10:00 AM. Every chair in the waiting room was full when I got to the office at 9:45 AM and I was finally called in for my procedure at 1:00 PM. It's just a business to them so they don't care how long patients have to wait, as long as they keep the money rolling in. The paperwork and payment took all of 5 minutes, so it's not as if the long waiting time is necessary to prep the patients or anything. They could have at least told us that we would be waiting for ov. Extremely unprofessional to keep patients waiting that long. read more

Alright so a little bit of background about myself. I'm 21 and have had glasses since I was 10, prescription of 3.25. I got Lasik done at LasikPlus 1 month ago. The day of the consult we walked in, answered some questions, had some awesome hot chocolate, didn't wait long for out exams to begin. They take you in like 5 different rooms, each with a different device to check your eyes. The process takes a little bit of time, but obviously it's important. Afterwards they will tell you if you qualify for Lasik or PRK. We luckily both qualified for Lasik. The good thing about LasikPlus is they have no problem turning you away if they know you aren't qualified for the procedure. The female Indian doctor (I can't remember her name for some reason) is great. She explains the procedure and answers any questions you need to know. After all of that's done they'll talk to you about prices, the payment plans, etc (I'll talk about the prices later). From then we scheduled our appointments for 2 weeks from then. Procedure Day! Of course we were beyond nervous. Before the exam we met one of the supervisors named Victor. If you still have questions he's the guy to ask, he is very good at explaining things since he's probably answered your question a few thousand times. After waiting they finally brought us into the procedure room where I finally met Dr. Pettinelli. He is very friendly and calming. He does a quick overview on exactly what he is going to do. From then you go to the first laser (the one that creates the flap). They give you an obscene amount of numbing drops so you don't feel a thing. Now is when Dr. Pettinelli gets serious and stern (which is exactly how a good doctor should be for this kind of procedure). They place this suction thing over your eye to keep it open, however the pressure makes it so you can't see (which is kinda a good thing). That laser took 15 seconds per eye (literally). Next you go to the second laser (the one that fixes your eyes!). Okay now this sounds 20x worse then it actually is. They give you more numbing drops. Everything is blurry, they use a similar device to keep your eye open. Suddenly it will get really REALLY blurry as you're staring at the red light (that's when he pulled the flap back, no you can't feel or see it). This laser takes 7 seconds to work it's magic. Then he replaces the flap and then repeats for the other eye. Afterwards he gives you a LOT of numbing drops to make the ride home suck less. The 1.5 hour drive back did suck, your eyes do kinda burn and those eye drops they give you become your best friend. When you get home go to bed (with the weird goggles they give you). The next day I could actually see! However everything had a haze to it. My eyes were also blood shot (both normal side affects). You have to take 3 different eye drops (4 if you are in the medical field). It took a few days for my vision to be completely crisp, though I could drive the next day no problem. You will need sunglasses everywhere you go for the first like week or so. You will have 3 check ups within the first month to make sure all is healing well (1 day, 2 weeks, 1 month). It's been a month since I got Lasik and I see great! My confidence level is a lot higher than it's been in a long time. According to the doctors I now see 20/15, which is better than most people! Now for the Pros and Cons: Pros: - I can see! - No more glasses (or contacts) - I can buy whatever sunglasses I want now - Being able to see while swimming - I look way better without glasses! - Lifetime warranty, free check ups, they'll do the procedure again if you'll ever need it again (you probably won't) - Very friendly staff Cons: - Night driving sucks at first, but it gets better - The procedure, though painless is kinda uncomfortable (15 mins of no comfort for a life time of seeing? Yeah worth it) - You have to take a bonkers amount of eye drops for a month (again, worth it) - The price. Being that I don't have credit I didn't qualify for the 0% interest payment plan. Only way I could make payments was with $2000 down and 7% interest. After 20% off for an EMS discount (public workers get 20% off, literally anyone can get 15% off though), and $100 off it came to $3570. I decided to pay it off in full which put a nice dent in my bank account. Though it was a little pricey, I don't regret a thing. You can't try to get the cheapest deal when it comes to your vision. You wan't quality which is what you'll get at LasikPlus Conclusion: Go get Lasik done at LasikPlus! Seriously, it's an investment I'm very happy I made. Don't go to your cheap local eye doctor for Lasik, make the trip to go to LasikPlus. I live 1.5 hours away and it's worth the trip. If you're still thinking about it then schedule your free consult. They won't try to push you into getting it done just because you got a free consult. I hope my review helped! read more

The surgeon, Dr. Pettinelli, is extremely skilled, but also comforting, kind, and supportive (as well as funny). He made me feel comfortable on the day of the surgery and prepared me for everything that I could expect before, during, and after the procedure. I had the Lasik surgery done about 24 hours ago and I highly highly HIGHLY recommend LasikPlus. Finding a place to get this done was a bit of a saga for me. I went to three different places and sat through three different consultations before I found LasikPlus and I couldn't be happier. As a little background, I have been wearing contacts for about 10 years. During summer 2017 I suddenly became totally contact intolerant. I absolutely could not put contacts in without my eyes getting completely dried out and red. So after a few months of no contacts, I finally decided to start get the surgery. And so began my saga: Place 1 - The first place I went to (in Bergenfield, NJ) wanted to charge me $3k PER EYE. And that was just the "base price"...the doctor basically assured me that because I had issues with dry eyes I was going to need additional care, which would cost even more. Nope nope nope. Place 2 - I found this place in Paramus, NJ because they had a groupon. Of course, because my prescription was so high, I didn't qualify. This is where I also learned that I would need PRK surgery (slightly different from Lasik with a longer recovery time) because I have thin corneas. This place was a little over $4k in total. Not as bad as place 1, so they were still in the running. Place 3 - This place was in Rochelle Park, NJ. I found this place on groupon and they were by far the cheapest. BUT, the person I spoke with during my consultation said that my corneas were so thin that they definitely wouldn't do Lasik and possibly wouldn't even do the PRK surgery. He also told me that he would be able to improve my vision but he wouldn't be able to get me to 20/20. On top of that, he said that I might still need to wear corrective lenses and glasses....soooo, what's the point of the surgery? I took a look at the reviews online and there were a lot of complaints about under correction. The super cheap price tag was definitely not worth the sub-par vision. LasikPlus - Finally I went to LasikPlus. The price was better than Place 2 AND they assured me that they could perform Lasik (as opposed to PRK). I was so happy! I don't want to scare anyone who's getting PRK, the recovery time is just a little longer than Lasik, so I was so happy when they told me they could do the Lasik. I was also really shocked considering Place 2 and 3 both said I would need PRK (and Place 3 said they might not even risk performing PRK). For me, this shows that LasikPlus is really confident in their technology and the people performing this surgery. I got the procedure done yesterday morning (super fast) and saw a huge difference immediately. There is some burning after the procedure....it felt like a combination of sweat and sunscreen in my eye that I wanted to rub away soooo bad (don't rub though!!). I went home, napped and woke up feeling awesome. I went back for a post-op appointment today and everything looks good! My vision is 20/20, I have no pain, and I'm not flat broke. My only regret is that I didn't go straight to LasikPlus earlier. I would recommend LasikPlus to any of my friends or family looking to do this. I am so happy...thank you LasikPlus! EDIT: Also, I wanted to add that the price quoted to me during my consultation was the EXACT price I ended up paying. When I went to pay yesterday before my surgery I was mentally prepared to see some other fee pop up on that bill (as some places will try to do). Nope. But they wont tell you. Lets try and keep them honest and encourage them to be specific about what "profile" of refraction, anatomy, corneal curvature, age, sex, pachymetry that are appropriate for the $250 advertised price. read more

Words cannot express my gratitude to the entire staff at LasikPlus. I went for my free consultation less than two weeks ago and they scheduled my appointment for yesterday. The consultation was quick, easy and painless. They were able to discuss pricing, procedure and scheduling immediately. I am very squeemish when it comes to eyeballs (they are gross) and the team calmed all of my nerves and made me feel incredibly comfortable. Dr. George & Dr. Fox are professional, courteous, SMART, and generally nice people. Seriously, I want to be friends with them. The night before surgery Dr. Pettinelli personally called me to see if I was doing okay because he knows patients tend to get anxious. I was blown away by the personal touch and immediately felt more at ease. When I arrived on the day of the surgery - everyone was more than accommodating. My eyes wouldn't relax for the screening, so I started to panic - but Victor was able to calm me down and gave the machine the magic touch. I was in the operating room for less than 10 minutes. Each eye took about 20 seconds with the first laser, and 35 seconds with the second laser. Dr. P explained everything that would happen and I didn't feel any pain, only a bit of pressure. I mean - it's certainly not the most comfortable feeling in the world AND you are awake so you can see everything happening, but I honestly thought it would be so much worse. Yesterday was one of the sunniest days this summer so the drive home was a bit rough. I couldn't open my eyes at all. I definitely recommend having someone that you are close with to stay with you the whole day. My sister put me to bed as soon as we got home. They gave me a tylenol PM at the office and I popped another one before my nap. The longer you sleep - the better. I woke up 5 hours later. My eyes were a bit scratchy and still blurry but very manageable.Oh, and Dr. P called to check on me that night too! He's the best. Today - I woke up for the first time without having to put in glasses or contacts and it was the most incredible feeling!!! I am seeing better than 20/20 (per Victor & Dr. Fox) and aside from a bit of scratchiness in my right eye - I am feeling GREAT! No working out, swimming or eye make up for awhile (buzz kill) - so if you have things coming up that you need to wear fake lashes for, a pool party - or a reason to be skinny, maybe schedule the surgery around those things. I feel like I want to become a spokesperson for LasikPlus Paramus - seriously, they are awesome. If you wear glasses/contacts - YOU HAVE TO GO SEE THEM! I've wanted Lasik ever since I could remember and recently I just decided it was time to speak with someone. My insurance company recommended this facility so I called the 1-800 number to schedule a consultation. The woman who made my appointment was very nice and informative. I even had to call back a few times to inquire about some things and everyone I spoke to was just as nice and helpful. The day of the consultation the building was easy enough to find and the staff there was great. There was virtually no wait time, I was in and out rather fast but all the questions I could've thought to ask were answered. I scheduled the procedure for this week and they gave me thorough instructions on after care. I'm getting everything I need to in order and I can't wait. Couple things to remember prior to going to a consultation: *Bring a photo ID *Your eyes will be dilated for the REST OF THE DAY so bring prescription sunglasses or ones that will fit over your regular glasses ((but if you forget (like I did) fear not, they will give you tinted plastic that kind of acts like a slap bracelet to go under your glasses)) lol *If you are wondering about the cost of the procedure, obviously it varies on a person to person basis but also you'll need an idea of when you'd want your procedure done. read more

Almost two weeks from my Lasik procedure and so far so good. The appointment process, consultation, financing and procedure itself is very smooth and straightforward. I met with Dr. George during my consultation, Dr. Pettinelli the day of and Dr. Fox for all my follow ups. I have to say that the doctors and the staff here are superb --they are very welcoming and they make every step of the process very easy. This went a long way since I was a bit nervous about getting the surgery: not necessarily because of the procedure itself but just because it's my eyes--my precious eyes! When you initially book the surgery, you're sent home with a packet with details for what to expect before, during and after as well as prescriptions to pick up prior to. The actual surgery felt like it took 10-15 min. I was -5.25. I went in barely able to see where Dr. P was directing me to place my glasses and came out seeing clearer than I ever have my entire life.
