3 Month PRK Post-Op Update: I just had my 3 month follow-up today with Dr. Kantor. Although my left eye was lagging behind in healing as of my last appointment, it has improved greatly to -0.5 and my right eye has healed to a perfect 0. I really appreciated that the doctor took the time to do these measurements as it helped to assure me that my healing is on track, and that both eyes were still improving. My left eye can now see a fuzzy 20/20 and my right sees 20/20. PRK has a much longer recovery time compared to LASIK, so it really is a test of your patience. After I told the doctor that I can see much better in my left eye after putting in some artificial tears, she evaluated me for dry eye and prescribed me some eye drops that will help to treat it. As I continue to heal, it is expected that any dry eye conditions will get better as well. Overall, I am still very satisfied with my experience. I'm hoping that my left eye will continue to heal from now until my 6 month follow-up. In the meantime, Dr. Kantor has definitely been super helpful and I am so glad she took the time to actually address some of these blips in the healing process to make it better for me. She also answered all the questions that I had with great detail so I could tell she is extremely knowledgeable in this field, and that she cares a lot about her patients. Overall * Let me be clear I did not have any procedure done here and my review is solely based on the process. I called to book a consultation to have LASIK and received multiple emails from them prior to the date with lots of rosy talk about how great the consultation is going to be and how they will answer all my questions and how they are always there to answer my questions. All sounds great but in reality the consultation is simply a 10 minute appointment to get my eyes measured to make sure I'm a candidate and then they will have a consultant call me to go over the procedure (who never did call by the way). Think about that for a second, they want to apply a laser to my eyes and I won't get to speak to an actual doctor prior to the procedure, only to a salesperson over the phone! I'll add in the office is depressing, disheveled and I didn't get the feeling of professionalism from the start. The exam area is out in the open, the woman performing the "exam" didn't inspire confidence and the equipment was dirty and broken down. Maybe this is the way these places work, "get 'em in and get 'em out" but at least in my opinion if this is representative of how they operate I would not be comfortable having them touch my eyes. read more

Took an over night trip and had something going on with my eye. I didn't know what it was since traveling and so much nonsense on planes these days. Obviously I am the most worried about this because it's my eyes. I called the closest optometrist and Diamond Vision came to the rescue. Wow I'm more ways than one. First, I called and the receptionist heard the concern in my voice. She took the time to ask me questions, show empathy and actually you guessed it...she cared! This is massive to me. I had lasik done over a year ago so I always am careful when something comes up. They got me in right away and I was able to see the doc immediately. I told them I was from out of town and they proceeded to ask me questions about me and wanting to get to know me and connect with me even though they knew I was there for a short time. They treated me like a human it was awesome and I feel like I have a personal connection in the area. So they see my eye and yep they see some particle that was stuck in my eye causing the irritation. They gave me some drops and flushed it all out. Checked me again and gave me special drops to go home with. This might seem excessive but I put drops in before and for some reason nothing worked. But everyone here were phenomenal. I had my surgery last week, 8/25. First of all, let me preface by saying, Dr. Stetson is a brilliant doctor, and my results were great. But the practice itself is not accommodating or patient-friendly AT ALL. Upon hearing my friend say she got LASIK in another state, I decided I would get it myself at Diamond Vision in NJ. First of all, good luck getting a one-week follow up. The doctor is only there 2 days a week, and they refused to work with me. They offered a Manhattan appointment, when I live in NJ. Paramus is already an hour an a half away- Um, hello? You can't find any other professionals to check someone's eyes after surgery? Apparently, the majority of their patients only work part-time hours. Secondly, after doing what seemed like 20 eye exams, they had me do it one more time in NYC, pre-op. I do not recommend going on a Saturday. It felt like a cattle-call with little-to-no TLC. The assistants were running around like crazy, complaining about how busy they were, and could not seem to take the correct pictures of my eyes, even after repeated times, which was frustrating. Those lights shining in your eyes hurt after 20 minutes. Thirdly, before the surgery, Dr. Stetson reviewed my medical chart with me....In front of other patients in the office. HIPAA, where art thou? Why do you think it would be appropriate to go over someone's personal information in a public setting? The doctor spoke to us as a group in the waiting room, instead of individually. The patient next to him was even peaking at my chart! I was taken aback and didn't know what to say. Lastly, they give you the impression the surgery is completely painless and you will wake up and magically be able to go about your day. Wrong. After the numbing drops wore off, I had the most agonizing pain in my eyes (think cutting an onion x 10.) This persisted until the next day when I woke up. You know why? They didn't give me numbing drops to take home. As I mentioned in the beginning, my friend got LASIK with another company, and not only did the surgeon text her the next day, he provided a Valium for the anxiety of the surgery, and numbing drops to take home. So, in conclusion, if you are looking for a surgeon and practice that provides customer care and gives a damn, I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

I had Lasik Vision correction done here back in 2001. I returned there back in September because my vision deteriorated over the years which is normal.After several examinations I was told I have the beginnings of cataracts but they could perform PRK correction in my left eye and a month later they would do the right eye. They never stated that the cataracts are operable and/or covered by standard health insurance!! Well after the surgery in my left eye was performed it was horrible. It was blurry and was not comfortable driving for two months. I was no way informed or prepared for the possible long term recovery from PRK. After returning back in January I was told that my vision was the best it was going to be (whichwas not good) and if the right eye was done it would equal out and I would be happy. Well at this point I was not going to let them touch my right eye so I went for a second opinion at a full service opthamologist. After extensive examination they stated my cataracts are operable and covered under my insurance. I had the cataract removed yesterday and they installed a lens. I woke up today in no pain and 20/20 vision. AMAZING!! and all covered by health insurance. My point is that Diamond Vision is a lasik correction farm that sells a quick laser correction service and harvest your dollars. Go see a real full service opthamologist that can service all your needs and treat you with respect and bedside manner. These people couldn't care less after they are paid read more

Wow!!! Talk about great service. Chris is an awesome consultant. At first, I was extremely nervous about Lasik. I don't like anyone touching my face let alone my eyes. But after talking with Chris, he reassured me that everything will go smoothly. He is a very easy person to talk to and well informed. Chris answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I was prepared and ready for my surgery. The day of the surgery, I met Dr. Aleksandrovich...Good luck trying to pronounce his name..lol. But all kidding aside, he was quick and gentle... Just what all women want. lol. The surgery was short and I was out quickly. Remember that you should plan on going straight to bed after the surgery. Once the aspirin wore off, HUGE headache. But it was worth it. Now I can see perfectly and will never, except reading glasses, need glasses again. Thank God! Glasses suck big time. read more

Had a procedure done several years ago(Lasek/EK now called PRK). All was great till my vision in one eye went back to how it was before getting the procedure while the other eye lost 20-30% of the vision. I went back a few times and received the same runaround, "here's some drops and we can't do anything since BOTH eyes open I still had FAIR vision"! They also listed many reasons that could have caused eg: sun, cigarets etc.. Trying to reach for a reason to say I caused it. Stay away from any company that will not honor their culture beliefs and certainty not stand by a customer satisfaction guaranteed philosophy. It's your vision! Had they corrected me at their expense I wouldn't be here posting, things happen that's my philosophy. read more

My surgery was performed at the Paramus, NJ location. Also, I waited until I healed before writing my review. I looked into Lasik surgery in late January, having a consultation with Ken. My surgery was in early February. Leading up to that date, I felt that the staff at Diamond Vision took great care with me. They answered all my questions and made me feel extremely comfortable about this quite stress-enducing procedure. Ken even went so far to say Diamond Vision has never been involved in a law suit. He also told me I would be completely amazed with the results and would be seeing without glasses or contacts the next day!! Ken was very straight with pricing as he assured me he was offering his lowest. This portion felt a bit like negotiating the price of a car, but I get he's trying to sell something. I was a bit annoyed that after putting down my deposit was when they told me I couldn't wear contacts for a week before my post-op appt and then my surgery, but they were able to schedule those appointments two days apart for me. I never met my surgeon as my post-op was with another doctor. That didn't bother me, but on the day of surgery, there are so many patients it does feel like an assembly line. Let me say, the surgery is extremely uncomfortable. The only saving grace is that it's quick. They only do surgery every other Wednesday in the NJ location, so maybe that's why so many people are there at the same time. On the way home from surgery, I had intense stinging and watering. It was so bad I was crying and tears were just streaming down my face. The only relief was sleeping. I woke up and could see; however, it was blurry. My right eye had a burst blood vessel, and both eyes were very red. My eyes were also extremely dry. Surgery was on a Wednesday and I went back to work on Friday. I had my post-op and I was 20/30 in my left eye and 20/40 in my right. It was alright, but I definitely wasn't too comfortable. The weekend goes by and same vision. Monday morning on the way to work, I noticed my vision had substantially deteriorated. I was driving and all the signs were extremely blurry. I was completely freaked out, so I called the doc. She said it was normal to revert back a bit, but I was still so scared. I had another post-op scheduled for that Wednesday, so I suffered through. At the post-op, my left eye was now 20/50 and my right was 20/40. Also, I had severe dryness. I was using the natural tears every few minutes. The post-op doctor told me I should be seeing fine and I was an "enigma." But I wasn't! She also told me to give it time. I was still so scared I paid $150 out of pocket to see my own eye doctor. He prescribed Restaisis for severe dryness. It wasn't until a 3 full weeks after surgery that my vision restored and dryness decreased. So, why 3 stars? I am extremely happy with my results; however, I feel completely mislead and mishandled. Diamond Vision should not be telling people they will see the next day when I was miserable for 3 weeks. I started with a -8 in both eyes, so I get it. They took a lot of tissue from my corneas, so it took longer to heal. But, that's not what I was told, and I felt the panic and fear I felt afterward could have been avoided if they were straight with me. I also would have waited until I could take some time off work to heal. I hope my review helps some of you considering this surgery. If you find a practice that is honest and forthright about the healing process, I would go with them. read more

I've had the intralase LASIK done almost a year ago by Dr. Aleksandrovich and it was worth every penny! It was a five minute procedure and I went back to work the next day. Had intralase LASIK and it was awesome. It's so great to see the day after. The co silt and operation went really smooth. The Valium helped and calmed my nerves, and the whole thing was over in like 15 minutes. Paramus doctor was great. My only complaint is the follow ups. The doctor I saw was so brief after my 40 min drive. The day after appointment he told me I was 20/20 and he'd see me in a week. The next week, same doctor didn't even tell me if I was still 20/20 or better. Didn't even have me cover each eye for test. Just told me he'll see me in a month. I was so frustrated with how brief the appointment was I totally Forgot to ask the few questions I had. Needless to say I may consider paying for my one month follow up to get a real appointment. Otherwise the surgery itself it IS life changing. read more

It's been 8 days since I had Dr. Stetson perform my Lasik surgery. I COULD NOT be happier with the results! The procedure itself is simply "uncomfortable" for the 30 seconds or less per eye, a couple of minutes later I sat up and already had massively improved vision. I slept away the rest of the afternoon, evening and night and woke up the next day like every other day. I drove my daughter into school, went to my post-op where I was told everything looked great and went right to work after. Today I had my 2nd pre-op appointment and my vision is 20/20!!!!!!! My only regret is not getting this done sooner! Literally life changing! And everyone at the office was so pleasant. I recommend them to everyone! read more

This one is long, but probably worth reading. After all, you only have 1 pair of eyes, and probably feel how I felt before LASIK. I've always hated wearing glasses and contacts, but needed to, because I race cars. Things happen very quickly, and also some gauges are very small. Needed to see every single thing, accurately. About me. I had some farsightedness and astigmatism. The astigmatism I had was bothering the way I see, especially in the evening and at night. By word of mouth from some friends, I was introduced to LASIK at Diamond Vision. At the time, 3 of my close friends had LASIK, and had awesome vision. In January 2014, I went for a consultation at Diamond Vision with a guy named Chris. He thoroughly explained the procedure to me, and told me what my options were. Around that time, they did the eye test on me and said I was a candidate for LASIK. I opted for the intralase (completely bladeless) with the custom mapping. I was told because I was wearing contacts at the time, I needed to wait a few weeks before surgery. The receptionist there (I think her name is Zita) was very friendly. Guided me through the financing options, as well as what to expect on day of surgery and care after surgery. I booked my surgery for a month later, in early February, 2014. About a month later, I went in to have the LASIK done. I couldn't believe how quick the whole thing was. The doctor that did my procedure was Dr. Aleksandrovich. Nice guy. Answered a couple of questions I had before the surgery. Both eyes probably took somewhere between 6 and 10 minutes, start to finish. I had a friend drive me there that day, and she was in disbelief of how quick it was. Totally painless. The anticipation of getting LASIK was definitely more eventful than the actual procedure. In and out. Once I was done, Zita gave after care instructions. I was told to stay home for the rest of the day, and come back for a checkup the day after. Check up next day went well. I was given more care instructions for the healing process. I went back to work that day (the day after surgery). In the next few days, my vision just got better and better. I don't remember ever seeing this well; not even with glasses/contacts. They scheduled a few more check ups, more time apart. Fast forward to today, about 2.5 years later, I still see 20/20. Can read things clearly very far away, even at night. Only thing I regret is not doing this sooner, as this has been on my mind for some time before I got it done. Don't be like me. Go now! The whole thing was a great experience, and I'd recommend Diamond Vision for LASIK. read more

In a matter one one week: I had a consultation on Tuesday, July 14 with Ken. I was so wrapped up in my own questions and the information he delivered to me that I forgot to even ask (1)who would be doing my surgery and (2)why I wasn't meeting them that day. He told me I would be meeting the surgeon (still not sure which it would have been) the day of my pre-op, which was the day before my LASIK. I thought that was a little weird after soaking everything in. I made 2 other LASIK consultations at other places that were highly rated in NJ. The first question I asked these other places was if I was going to meet the surgeon during the consult and they were both so quick to say "Yes, of course!" At Diamond Vision, I only met with Ken, who was the consultant, no one else. I also emailed Ken with questions I had on Thursday and the following week on Wednesday still hadn't heard anything back. And I then still did not hear anything back from the office.. Even though they're open until 10pm everyday. I also called that Monday and Wednesday to cancel my pre-op, post-op and LASIK surgery appointments but both times I was told I needed to speak with Ken to get his 'approval' or to a coordinator who was supposed to call me back. Never heard a call back. Really frustrating. I don't understand why my $250 refundable deposit was so difficult to get back? I was told at the consultation that it would be no big deal if I cancelled, making it seem hassle-free. Needless to say, Thursday came around and I still had not received a call back AND I had to call my credit card to dispute this charge since everyone was giving me a run around on who I had to contact to get this deposit back. In the papers I signed, it stated I could get my REFUNDABLE deposit back under these two conditions: if I cancelled before my pre-op appointment (today is June 22 and my pre-op is for July 18) OR if the surgeon at the pre-op visit tells me reasons why I should not get this done. Well, I am canceling way in advance of my pre-op. I finally CC'd Ken AND the Diamond Vision office for him to speed up the process and he didn't even respond! Not very reliable service. After running around trying to get my deposit back and finally did that following Thursday, it shows me that they just want another $4,000 in their pocket and they don't really care about their customer service. I was actually recommended by over 5 people but this situation did not sit well with me. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I was pretty hesitant to have surgery on my eyes. It seemed like a very risky procedure. However, after many years dealing with irritated eyes due to contacts I decided to at least check it out and get more information. The entire experience at Diamond Vision was excellent. From the front desk initial walk in to the post surgery check ups. I never felt as if I was just another $ sign walking in and out of the office. The staff was wonderful...Zita at the front desk was very approachable and easy to schedule with. She helped answer a few questions and was very patient with my tentative demeanor. I was a bit nervous walking into the room to be operated on but the surgeon was very good with bedside manners (I believe that's the term used) He calmed whatever nerves were at war in me and talked me through the 6-10 minutes! YES that's all it took!!! For someone who once had fear regarding the surgery, I left my consultation feeling at peace and ready to take the next step. I was also glad to hear there was an offer for no interest financing. So now it's two years later and I have to say that it's the best investment I have ever made in my life. As a former athlete, I regret not walking into Diamond Vision earlier in my life and finding out the info. Contacts are not the way the truth and the life! LASIK is when it comes to seeing!!! If you have any doubts. Please...please! Learn from my hesitation and regret! Go and learn more! There is nothing to fear! There is nothing greater than opening your eyes in the morning and actually being able to see, and not because you left your contacts in overnight and forgot. :) - actually seeing your cable box clock when you wake up clear as day! I got my Lasik done here over a year ago. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. The surgery was a success, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The consultation was low key and easy. The day of the surgery went by fast, and I was in and out with a successful lasik surgery. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful, and they are always asking if they can help you. This is probably one of the best LASIK vision centers in New Jersey. I had Lasik completed here 2 years ago and I still can see 20/20. It was one of the quickest and easiest procedures I have ever done. Had PRK surgery back in July of 2016. Started out wearing -4.5 contacts. I was happy with the service right up until after the surgery. I never had clear vision once it was done, and the optometrists assured me on every follow up appointment in the following weeks that it's just healing slowly and to give it time. After a few months and not being able to functionally see, I scheduled another appointment. This time I was told it could take a year or longer for me to see properly. Obviously frustrated, i told the optometrist I obviously can't go a year without seeing and could he give me my new prescription so I could wear glasses while I'm still healing. He seemed shocked and said something along the lines of "Yeah I guess I could, is that something you would be interested in doing?"..... yes. I would be interested in being able to see.... after that I changed all my appointments to one of their satellite offices in branchburg. The lady there was awesome. Right away after examining me she told me my eyes were healed already with no scarring and the surgery just didn't correct my eyes enough. She gave me a different prescription and told me I could wear contacts while weighing my options to do it again. I scheduled back in Paramus later with the surgeon who did my surgery. He seemed pretty sharp, examined me and told me the same thing and explained my options. I had to go back there and had to see an optometrist again. She gave me a new prescription for contacts and scheduled me for pre surgery appointments. I immediately realized the new prescription she gave me was incorrect, but she assured me it was correct. At my next appointment I again said they gave me the wrong prescription, they did another exam and low and behold they had to give me a stronger prescription contact. At this point I was 90% sure I wouldn't let these people do surgery on my eyes again. If they can't even give me the right contacts how are they going to fix my eyes? I scheduled the pre op appointments just in case, and they agreed to do the surgery for free. On my next visit the optometrist apparently didn't read my file because he was explaining the surgery and what to expect. I told him I was aware, i had the surgery already there and it didn't work. His response was "Well are your eyes any better?" I told him yes, the contacts and glasses I have to wear are a lesser prescription. He responded "So don't say it didn't work then because it did". That was the point I finalized my decision not to let them touch my eyes again. So I paid about $3,000 to lower my contact prescription from -4.5 to -1.5 read more
