I came across Sugar & Lash thanks to Yelp and was ready to try out the Brazilian sugar wax. BLUF: I had a good experience for my sugar Brazilian wax. Would recommend! I'm pretty open minded and always ready for an experience so I had no prob having a total stranger see my lady pocketbook. That's the first thing I'd say to people you have to be comfortable with someone being all in your business. I've never had a Brazilian wax or a sugar wax so I read into it. Brazilian wax removes the hair in the front and the back. I must've missed reading the part about the BACK because I was a little shocked when she said it lol. Sugar wax is less harsh than regular wax bc the hair is pulled in the same direction. I met and talked with Mandy then I was taken to a private room. I took off my bottoms only and received a towel wrap that had snaps to fit on my waist. I laid on the table and let the lady know I was ready through the closed door. She came in and got to work. I would say it's uncomfortable but not unbearable. Mandy is considerate and would offer breaks but I just went the whole time nonstop. It's good to have at least a weeks worth of hair but not too much hair or else that's more pulling. Mandy went to work on the front and the BACK. The front was more effort than the back. The back goes really quick and is much easier to handle. A little weird feeling but manageable. I was there for about 30 minutes and it really all goes quickly. Mandy will talk to you throughout to make it less awkward and as pleasurable as possible. Overall it was not scary or way painful. I will be back for another. I know over time the hair will get thinner and waxing will be easier.

So, after seeing so many people on IG tag Jenn in their IG stories, I knew one day I would try them out some day and stop being a chicken. I decided to book an appointment on my birthday to treat myself as well as give this place a try. I booked online under "new client" for Joanna. I've never had my lashes done so I had no clue how long i want them or if i should trust someone putting lashes on my eyes. I'm sensitive to EVERYTHING so i knew I was out of my comfort zone trusting a stranger. I said to myself "I'll try this place and if they are not good, I'll let Yelp know" So, the day before, the owner Jenn Pope texted me personally to let me know Joanna who was suppose to do my lashes was unavailable to do it but that she could do them. Do you know how happy I got inside? Everyone goes to Jenn so this was the perfect birthday gift to have the talk of the town actually do my lashes as my first time. I appreciated how professional and timely she was in letting me know. I get to my appointment on time (Thank you God, because i didn't want to be late for my first time and they charge me or cancel on my birthday. That would have been embarrassing) Jenn greeted me so pleasantly. It made me less nervous. She sat down in the front lobby with me to understand what length i wanted and to inform me on the process. As a new client, it takes 2 hours to apply each lash. She explained the maintenance and shedding process I will go through after. Once she gathered the information she needed from me, we were set to start. There's no turning back now! Her set up is so cute and comfortable. There is a soft bed awaiting the clients with the smooth sounds of RnB playing (right up my alley. The inner 90's in me got excited) All the nerves were gone. I laid down comfortably with my eyes closed. She put the eye patches on my eyes and she began to put lashes on. Two hours later, I felt like a new woman. Jenn really puts the client first to make everyone feel at ease. Please, BELIEVE THE HYPE! It was worth all my coins (and I'm a frugal woman) Let's just say, they are not heavy, very light on your eyelids. It's like their not on. Because the service was so great, i made another appointment. Although, this next time is with someone else, I'm sure all of Jenn's employees are stellar like her! I followed their shop for the…read morepast few years but was convinced by a family member to try a cheaper artist... and I'll just say when it comes to any beauty related procedure, quality over quantity (cost of service) is everything. Besides microblading, their services also include lipliner and lip tattoos! I submitted an inquiry for a brow correction and received a response within a day. I sent over photos of my current brows (some microblading artists are selective when it comes to corrections/fixing other artists' work) and thankfully, Emily Joy agreed to fix them for me! I put down a 50% deposit and booked an appointment (bookings are only guaranteed with a deposit!). The remaining balance is also charged on the day of the appointment. Medical history is requested along and pre and post-care instructions are provided during booking. They are also sent during the appointment confirmation (about 2-3 days before your appointment) and are also available on their website. Emily Joy had wonderful bedside manner and had a warm, genuine personality and I felt comfortable with her right away! The process of measuring and drawing out my brows took longer in addition to waiting for the topical anesthetic took longer than the actual microblading itself. It's pretty painless for the most part, but once the anesthesia starts to wear off, it feels more like a scratch, if anything at all. She provided a cute post-care tote with Aquaphor, a card with directions on how to take care of your brows, as well as swabs to apply the Aquaphor. I was able to book my touch-up right after we finished our initial session. The studio itself is clean and has the cutest, posh decor. It's shared in an office building with several other businesses and has ample parking. I've constantly received compliments on my brows and every morning, I look at myself in the mirror and think to myself, "I WOKE UP LIKE DIS!" I'm extremely happy with my brows (now) and I'm SO glad that I came to Dollistic!
