Emily and her team at Dollistic are the BEST of the best in the DMV! I followed their shop for the past few years but was convinced by a family member to try a cheaper artist... and I'll just say when it comes to any beauty related procedure, quality over quantity (cost of service) is everything. Besides microblading, their services also include lipliner and lip tattoos! I submitted an inquiry for a brow correction and received a response within a day. I sent over photos of my current brows (some microblading artists are selective when it comes to corrections/fixing other artists' work) and thankfully, Emily Joy agreed to fix them for me! I put down a 50% deposit and booked an appointment (bookings are only guaranteed with a deposit!). The remaining balance is also charged on the day of the appointment. Medical history is requested along and pre and post-care instructions are provided during booking. They are also sent during the appointment confirmation (about 2-3 days before your appointment) and are also available on their website. Emily Joy had wonderful bedside manner and had a warm, genuine personality and I felt comfortable with her right away! The process of measuring and drawing out my brows took longer in addition to waiting for the topical anesthetic took longer than the actual microblading itself. It's pretty painless for the most part, but once the anesthesia starts to wear off, it feels more like a scratch, if anything at all. She provided a cute post-care tote with Aquaphor, a card with directions on how to take care of your brows, as well as swabs to apply the Aquaphor. I was able to book my touch-up right after we finished our initial session. The studio itself is clean and has the cutest, posh decor. It's shared in an office building with several other businesses and has ample parking. I've constantly received compliments on my brows and every morning, I look at myself in the mirror and think to myself, "I WOKE UP LIKE DIS!" I'm extremely happy with my brows (now) and I'm SO glad that I came to Dollistic! read more

There's a reason why these ladies are booked months out - they're the best in the DMV. First and foremost, let's talk cleanliness- they are so prepared for everything. You will not walk through that door until you've passed all the prerequisites from the covid form to the sanitation station. Now let's talk decor - holy cow is this the cutest most glam brow location everrrrr. Okay moving onto the customer service. Wow, is what comes to mind. They all are a team and your actual artist literally takes all the time they need to to ensure the eyebrows are perfectly shaped before they do anything permanent. I cannot wait to go for my next touch up which is included in your initial fee btw. read more

LOVE MY BROWS! Emily Joy is truly an artist, and worth every penny. As the mom of two smallish kids, I don't have a lot of time to put into my morning beauty routine (skincare, mascara, lip balm LOL). Giving up coffee for the 48 hours before the procedure was NOT easy, but definitely worth it. Listen to Emily Joy, follow the guidelines and you will get the results you're looking for! She does such an amazing job explaining why you can't have that latte or go for a run, it's all about getting optimal results. Emily designed perfect, natural brows that look just as good after a workout as they do when I wake up. They were an instant face-lift, and make such a difference in the way that I look. Eyebrows aren't meant to be the star of your face, they are meant to enhance what you have. I take it as a great compliment when friends and family are shocked that they're not my real eyebrows. Which happens a lot! I'm just a little over one-year from my original service, and I can't wait to go back again. Love Dollistic!!!!!!! read more

Dollistic - One year out, with one touch up! - Permanent Makeup Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Hands down the elite of the elite in microblading in the DMV. I had an awful experience at another establishment i will leave nameless. After a year of letting them fade, i decided to give Dollistic a try. Boy was I in for a treat. I picked Megan after following her work for over a year on Instagram. When i arrived, i was greeted by the receptionist, and the other artist all offered warm smiles and hellos. First they will start off by sitting down with you, and going over the process. Then they will measure out your brows, and numb you for a good twenty minutes. Then your artist will come and get you to begin process of microblading. First off, let me start of by saying. I could barely feel her during the procedure. Which was complete Night and day from my past experience with microblading. Where i was in pain half the time. The process took about 2 hours from start to finish overall. I have received so many compliments since getting them done. Even from some of my male friends. Also, my friend ended up getting hers done by Megan based off of the perfection of mine. If you are going to take the plunge. I highly suggest Dollistic. After all, it's your face and you will have to live with results for a while. read more

I had been wanting to get my eyebrows microbladed for several years but was too afraid to make the leap. My best friend went to Dollistic and had hers done by Holly (they look great) and that was the tipping point for me. The 90s were not kind to my brows and they were a victim to the overplucking that was common back then. So as a result I had relatively thin brows that had to be filled in regularly with makeup. I was always self conscious about them and wouldn't leave the house without my brows being drawn in. Natasha was my angel who saved me from my sad, thin brows. From the start she was excellent at communicating timing and expectations to me for the before care and the appointment. The studio is beautiful and very clean and inviting. When I arrived Natasha talked to me and asked what I was looking for in my brows and how we wanted to approach the shape. She then took her time drawing out the outline for the brow shape and making sure I was comfortable with the thickness, shape, and symmetry before we got started. Fair warning - the process can be a bit "spicy" in that it will sting...but the results could not be more worth it! I am obsessed with my brows and I often leave the house now with little or no makeup at all. I always feel put together and I LOVE how my face looks in pictures now. Eyebrows truly are a frame for your face and I am so happy with how beautiful mine are now. read more

I was referred to Dollistic for microblading, and specially Emily Joy, by McLean Dermatology. It was Holly who answered my appointment request and let me know she has taken over the business from Emily. Holly was super helpful and went out of her way to accommodate my situation and short time frame (having to start chemo again for breast cancer). I'm not a girly girl and it was my sister who convinced me to do microblading and I was a little nervous! Holly created an amazing and comfortable space in her new McLean location and took the time and attention to get my eyebrows to what I wanted. It took me several hours to get used to having perfect eyebrows but as the day went on, I loved them more and more! I'm amazed at the results and how much it's already changed my life! I can't thank Holly enough for working with me. I absolutely highly recommend Dollistic and Holly! read more

So now Emily responds. You know exactly what you did. Your inability to recall will not negate the fact that your business, customer service, and lack of talent ruined my eyebrows. I definitely remember you and the dispute that I had to file with American Express since you all refused to refund me for the nail shop tattoo looking eyebrows that were scraped on my face. I still have a scar. Now that you have reminded me perhaps I should pursue further action to be compensated for having to get this scar and imbedded ink off of my forehead where the nail shop looking tattoo was placed. I am offended that you are insinuating that my review is not based on fact. I dealt with you directly. Now bow out gracefully as my review is very accurate and true. If you continue to be untruthful on my review I will continue to speak the truth and will post receipts. read more

It's been exactly one week since I had my first Microblading procedure ever in life completed. My service was provided by Christina and she was the absolute best! I actually felt blessed and as if the stars had aligned perfectly to match me with her level of care and professionalism. It didn't hurt that she's an absolute sweetheart and has the kindest demeanor. ;-) To begin, the booking process was seamless! I went online and secured an appointment within two weeks by paying a 50% deposit. My appointment was confirmed and I received pre-care instructions via email well in advance. I also received an appointment reminder via email and a telephone call approximately 48 hours prior to my appointment. The email included parking options which were very helpful upon arrival since I'm unfamiliar with the area. When I arrived, Christina was prompt and timely with greeting me and beginning my appointment. I truly appreciated this and recognized it because service providers are often oblivious to appointment times and seem to disregard the etiquette of timeliness. Prior to even touching my brows, Christina took her time explaining the entire process from start to finish as well as what to expect during the healing process. Christina patiently drafted up personalized brows based upon my facial structure and welcomed my desired outcome and input. It was a pleasant collaboration because she continuously inquired about my likes, dislikes, and possible areas of modification prior to finalizing her design. She also discussed the need for the perfect ink color combo based upon cultural heritage, background, and undertones; which was another indication of her attention to detail. Once the process began, Christina was very intuitive, observant, conscientious of my nervousness, and patient with my pain sensitivity. She voluntarily gave me intermittent breaks and was very kind about it. Although Christina was open to my thoughts, she ultimately used her obvious expertise to create the perfect eyebrows for my face! Christina is an amazing find! One week later, the healing process has proceeded exactly as she explained and for that I appreciate her transparency and thoroughness. I was very impressed with her level of service and am looking forward to finalizing the process via my touch-up in a month or so. Christina not only has the warmest disposition, but her level of talent has made a lifelong trusting customer out of me! P.S. Oh and it also doesn't hurt one bit that I've received multiple compliments during the past seven days regarding how nice strangers think my brows look. Several of the women have been amazed when I informed them they are microbladed a la "tattoo'ed" and flat out didn't believe me. Winning! :-D read more

I cannot gush enough about Dollistic and Emily. I heard about her years ago when I first started thinking about microblading. I had hesitated about pulling the trigger on it for years because it's very expensive and i was a little apprehensive about permanent makeup because of so many poorly faded/hack jobs I had seen. I work in Arlington and live in Alexandria. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that over the years when I've met people with amazing microbladed eyebrows, they have all gone to Dollistic. I pulled the trigger and decided to go with Emily because I loved her work the most. The office is gorgeous and extremely clean and comfortable. Emily asked me questions about what I was looking for and gave me exactly what I was hoping for without me even having to describe it. She explained why the shape she chose would compliment my face shape. When she numbed my brows, the woman literally tucked me in with a blanket! She showed that the tools she was using were brand new/sterile. When she started I felt zero pain. She took great care with everything and did such an amazing job. Towards the end, the ink stung slightly but all in all, no pain. It was worth every penny. I'm only on day 3 post procedure and I've gotten a ton of compliments. Is it expensive? Yes. But this is a cosmetic procedure, if it's cheap you need to ask yourself why. I would 100% go again and recommend Emily/Dollistic to everyone! read more

Absolutely top notch experience. I had an appoint with Meghan. She is absolutely wonderful. Kind. Knowledgeable. And honest Let's start with the fact i wanted my lips tinted. Meghan after reviewing my medical history and looking at the pictures of my lips has politely declined the service with an explanation that due to my lip injection with restlyne. She spoke with me over the phone. And took time to explain everything. When i cane in for microblading - easy free parking right under the building. Nico at the front desk is as sweet and welcoming as one can be. Facility is posh and clean. Meghan took time to get the shape exactly how i wanted. I have very thin face with high cheekbones and Meghan had styled my brows exactly how i wanted to look perfect and beautiful on my face. Nico numbed my brows. A little time after. Meghan did the microblading. Perfect look. More numbing to prevent bleeding ( with her perfect touch i had none) and with a goody bag and instructions off i went home Worth every penny. 7 weeks later. Free touch up. I can't say more wonderful things about this place. And the fact that they all beautiful. And humble, polite and friendly - plus super experts at their art - 100 percent recommend !!!! So I've struggled to write this review because in the beginning I had a really great experience with Dollistic. Fast forward four years and I have had a horrible one. When I first started my journey in 2016 my eyebrows looked amazing. You could see the hair strokes, the color looked great, and they looked super natural. Fast forward four years and now they look like big dark brown blobs on my face. A year after I started my eyebrows they started to turn pink. So I got them redone in in September of 2017. Shortly after I got pregnant and they turned pink again. I had to wait until after I was finished with everything in regards to my pregnancy and birth to get them touched up which ended up being two years. When I went back in the fall of 2019 for a touch up, my brows were super pink but fading. So they decided to redo them and did some super heavy shading with a super dark color to cover them. They looked horrible. I went back a few moth later and they redid the heavy shading but with a lighter color. They looked good for a little bit but the darker color is starting to show back up. When I talked to EmilyJoy she tried to blame it on my facials... ummm my facials had nothing to do with the fact that you all used super heavy shading and a super dark color to cover the pink. Then she tried to work with me to come up with a remedy which ended up being laser removal. She recommended it like it's not an expensive and painful removal option. So now due to COVID, I'm stuck with these ugly dark blob brows. I'm really angry because not only did Dollistic messed up my brows, the ruined my face and they way I look. And even if I do choose to get laser to remove them (it's literally my only option) there is no guarantee that laser will remove all of the ink and from my research, laser can also permanently remove the little bit of eyebrow hair that I have. Overall, it's just a horrible situation to be in and there is nothing I can do about it.....nothing! I can't even cover them up with makeup. read more

Thank you to Emily, Christina, Lizzeth, Claudia and everyone at Dollistic for making my brows so beautiful! I was lucky to be chosen as an eyebrow model for Christina as she learned microblading. I can tell you first hand that the training that the artists receive is first rate and they use clean, organized and detailed techniques. Microblading hurt much more than I had anticipated but the results were ten times better than I could have ever asked for. Thank you all! read more

I want to start by saying THANK YOU EMILY for reaching out to me when I thought everything was lost! For those that are not interested in reading my long prior review, my eyebrows were previously done by Lizzeth (now I.D Artsy Studio) and went through the horrible experience of laser tattoo removal (for the second time) which left a noticeable yellow/greenish tone to the skin surrounding my eyebrow. Emily took the time to contact me to follow up on my experience and asked if I would be willing to trust her in correcting the work done by the previous artist. I'm glad I took a chance as it has improved my morning routine and I no longer feel the regret of having done this in the first place. I now wake up with beautiful brows. Emily has gone the extra mile to make me happy (even consulted a known laser removal expert overseas to ensure my tattoo removal was on track), to ensuring my new brows were the perfect shape , color, healing, etc. I would definitely recommend her great talent, a beautiful person inside and out. Emily Joy was amazing! I seriously cannot recommend this place and her enough. She did an AMAZING job on my brows, which were sparse in some areas due to over tweezing when I was younger. I tried everything to get them to grow back to no avail for years - including Latisse. I basically gave up until I heard about microblading. I did TONS of research and finally decided to go with Emily Joy at Dollistic. I was definitely nervous at first and it was obviously expensive. I am so glad I decided to go for it though. I would do it over and over and over again. Emily Joy knows brows. The shape is amazing. It makes such a huge difference to have full, symmetrical brows. Since they basically frame your face, I'm convinced that brows are the most important facial feature now. Before her microblading, I hated even looking in the mirror in the morning without having my brows on. Now, I can wake up and feel good about myself without even a trace of makeup on. The confidence she gave me is priceless - as ridiculous as it may sound I feel like a new person. I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. Not to mention that she is super sweet and kind as well. Disclosure: I am only two days post my initial procedure, so I am unsure of how long my brows will actually last. Hoping, however, that this feeling is something I can experience FOREVER. read more

I am updating this review after booking again this time with the master herself, Emily. After the original and follow-up (around 7/8 weeks), my brows finally started to look like they should have been from the beginning. Emily explained everything to be expected in terms of healing and aftercare. It is now week 7 since my follow up, and she is happy with the way they have turned out. She is awesome of course. I am keeping the review at 4 stars only because I had to pay over $1200 to get where I am. Other than that, you will not be dissatisfied if you book with one of the masters. Due to budgetary limitations I risked it and went ahead with a trainee. I am keeping an open mind. Emily said that after the touchups things will start looking exactly like I want them to. I hope that's the case and will be back to write an update. Parking in the area is a hassle though. Very nerve wrecking worrying about getting a ticket after the two free hours are up. read more

Very dissatisfied and disappointed! Since, it was the first time I was going to have my brows microbladed, I decided to go to the most expensive and high- rated salon as I expected the best results. However, they ended up making my brows too bold, asymmetric, and the most disappointing, they did a permanent tattoo, which is not gone this is already 3 years and turned to reddish color. Also, since then, I have some tenderness in my brow area - looks like they went in too deep and touched a nerve. I am still so unhappy that I payed hundreds of dollars for messing up my brows. read more

I liked this place a lot. Had some hesitation before getting a microblading procedure done - was afraid that it might look very unnatural, too bold and noticeable. I've got my eyebrows done by Lizzeth and then the touch-up. She is super professional and a very nice person. Lizzeth gave me a perfect shape, following all my wishes. It heeled perfectly well first time and the second (touch up) too. This is absolutely new level of self-esteem! read more

I had my brows done 1.5 years ago. They were nice the first few months. But now, my kids would often say "mom, why are your eyebrows red?!" The ink that was used turned red after 10 months (even more noticeable in the sun) and I need to draw over them just to cover the red tattoo underneath. HATE IT!!! If you have some eyebrows, do NOT get your brows tattooed. Even after you get them micro-bladed, you'll still be using brow makeup to fill them in. To me, it only saved time in my makeup routine. But now, I spend my time drawing over red tattoo read more

I had microblading done two weeks ago with Emily, one of the owners, and in still thrilled with the results. I was nervous because the treatment is semi-permanent and it's your FACE, so if they mess up, your face is screwed. I was immediately put at ease because the place is very nice, clean and chic. Emily talked through the process and took her time designing my eyebrows with pencil first until we arrived at a place that we both were happy with, which didn't take long because Emily is meticulous and talented. When I said to Emily that they must be doing well because it took me months I get an appointment, she explained that it's difficult for them to grow quickly because not everyone has the natural talent to do eyebrows like this, even after training. I was really impressed by this; Instead of capitalizing on a really in-demand service, they're keeping the business small in order to ensure 100% satisfaction and perfection with clients. Emily explained the healing stages that your eyebrows go through, and currently they are lighter than day one, but I haven't experienced peeling or pain. I'm excited for my touch-up. They have a customer for life with me. They're worth the cost and wait! read more

My brow journey began 4 years and it was one the best decisions I've ever made! I have since just received my second touch up. While it is not recommend to go as long in between touchups, I still had a decent amount of pigment left with just some fading. Emily and her dollistic team walk you through every teeny tiny detail to make sure you feel comfortable and confident with the session. I have been going to Dollistic for 2 years now. I have had several of their artists do my brows, and all have spent MORE time measuring with a ruler to ensure exact mirror image brows, than the time it takes them to actually DO the tattoos. Although I had brows when I walked in, they were very thin and I think aged my face. I brought a few pics of the brows that I liked, and Rhonda took the time to meticulously measure the various angles of my face and took the shape of my face into consideration when deciding how my final brows would look - which I was relieved about because these new brows are permanent! I went to Dollistic because the Washingtonian magazine wrote them up. I was willing to pay more because I'm very fair skinned with white hair and it was crucial that my eyebrows not be too big or too dark. I picked out exactly what I wanted. The first appointment went well and after a couple of weeks my eyebrows looked good. As they directed me, I scheduled a second appointment just to "fill in". I left there with pitch-black enormous eyebrows that were very obviously uneven. I was really dismayed. I waited two, very long months with no significant change. They refunded my money and they paid for three super-painful tattoo removal appointments. It's hard to convey how painful the laser treatments were but I had no choice. My eyebrows looked terrible. I wrote a Yelp review and a few months later the owner Emily sent me the following text: Hello Marge, My name is Emily. I am the founder and owner at DOLLISTIC. I just saw the review you left on YELP and wanted to personally reach out to you. As much as this negative review breaks my heart, it also is an opportunity for me to learn how we can grow and do better in the future. Would you mind chatting with me on the phone about the events which transpired and if there is something we can do differently moving forward? Thank you for your time.
