I love my beautiful, thick lashes and will only admit here that I have lash extensions! i went to Rachel several times last year until I found that she had left the place I was going to. I wanted to cry but I didn't want to damage my lashes... After trying to find her and at times appearing stalker-ish, I finally did find her! Rachel owns her own place now in a super COOL part of Fremont. You head to the 2nd floor of the building and she has the cutest place with everything a Lash Diva could need to make sure she is Fluttery Gorgeous! I live in Bellevue and I drive to go see Rachel at her new place - it's worth the 18 minutes it takes to get there... A full set is about 120 lashes - which is what I get and I can tell you it makes your eyes just pop (in a good way). I also know she does partial sets and funky things color lashes and crystals. Rachel takes her time and puts in A LOT of lashes in a short amount of time and you get a really thick and even set of lashes. When Rachel first did my lashes, I batted my eyes at everyone: Gas attendant, grocery bag boy and my Starbucks barista - and she was a girl! Rachel's work is amazing and quick. The first time she did my lashes it was about an hour and a half long and each fill has taken an hour or less. Also, I've had previous folks do my lashes and I can tell you that Rachel's lashes STAY. Of course, I baby the things, but hers seem to have long lasting flutter power which stays for at least 3 weeks. I have been getting my eyelashes done for nearly 1.5 years and I'm addicted. My initial lashes were done by Rachel and would see her religiously (every 3 weeks) to get my fill for nearly a year. I left Seattle to move back down to San Diego and I wanted to take Rachel with me. I literally have asked her to move down multiple times as the thought of someone else doing my lashes is disheartening! Needless to say, I had to continue my addiction to lashes when I moved back to Cali. I have gone to 2 salons and I have not been able to replicate the look that Rachel was able to give me with my lashes. I would definitely fly to Seattle every 3 weeks to get my eyelashes done by Rachel if my budget allowed. I have never received more compliments about my eyelashes when Rachel was doing my lashes. Before I experienced what lash extensions looked like, I always thought of them as very noticeable and a little too drastic. Rachel definitely proved me wrong. Not only does she make the lashes look natural and perfectly placed, but she makes the experience comfortable and relaxing. She doesn't just do the work, but cares about her clients and always keeps the conversation flowing. The lashes are as natural looking as if you put on those endless layers of mascara. It is truly magic! As someone who doesn't have a lot of time to do my makeup, it is amazing to wake up and have my lashes look full and long with no effort at all! As for the facility itself, Rachel keeps it cozy and inviting. With a window looking out into the city, she creates a peaceful environment with music, a warm bed and a comfortable pillow. But most importantly, it is super easy to find. I always get lost in Seattle, and the location, in the SPACE building, is just a couple turns off the freeway and two hour free parking all around. So you know how you read about how lash extensions are addicting, and you wonder, can that be true? It is. This was my 1st time getting lashes done by Rachel and my second time trying extensions. Rachel is by far superior. The first time I had them done, my eyes felt heavy, they looked a little too fake and they broke my real lashes. I never got them filled. Recently, I was going on vacation, and I also wanted to try them again. A friend of mine gets them done, and she swears by them. So after looking all over yelp and specifically the pictures, I thought I'd try Lash On Wax Off. I have pretty long lashes, but they don't like to stay curled, so I wanted my lashes to be fuller and stand out, but not look too fake. Rachel nailed it. People could tell there was a difference, but they weren't sure what. I had a previously scheduled eyebrow appointment for the next day, and the woman commented on what beautiful lashes I had. She had no idea they were fake. I had to admit that they were. She said it was one of the better jobs she has seen. After 3 weeks, I still have quite a bit of lashes, and my eyes aren't bothering me. This was after being in Hawaii for over a week and getting them wet with salt water and chlorine. Granted, I tried to limit it as much as possible, they have really lasted. I felt that I hardly had to wear eye makeup either. I've convinced myself that I deserve to at least get them filled once, and I am going in this week! Few people knew about lash extensions around 2010-2011. There were only a handful of salons out there doing them. I found Rachel way.....back in 2011 doing what was the only reputable service which was "Xtreme Lash" (a professionally trained stylist in this new industry back then). Rachel is absoultely amazing!!! I lost all my lashes and part of my eye brow in a fight with my gas stove a couple years back and immediatley sought out someone to help me. She did a great job making me look good for my up coming wedding and I've since continued to go to her becasue I can't give it up!!! She makes my lashes look so full and beautiful and no one ever asks me "are you wearing fake lashes?" they only say "dear god you have long gorgeous lashes!"....ALL thanks to Rachel!!! I was so excited to find Rachel to do my lashes for my best friend's wedding. She did an absolutely amazing job! My lashes look natural (but better:) and I get compliments all of the time. She really takes her time and makes sure to completely fill in all available lashes (some salons skimp on this). I have also been able to go 3.5 weeks in between fills as she does such a good job (she also tells me I'm great at maintaining them, which means I follow her advice on how to do this!). Rachel is also wonderful about answering any questions that you might have about the process and her studio is in a very convenient location in Fremont. After my friend's wedding I have continued to have my lashes done as it makes getting ready in the morning so much easier. The sad part of my story is that I recently moved to southern California and really miss Rachel's attention to detail, expertise, friendliness and great prices. She has promised me that if she ever starts making occasional visits down here to serve old clients, she'll let me know and I hope she does that soon! Both my friend and I called (between us both 7) times over the last 4 days to schedule an appointment with Rachel. We're both still awaiting a return call. Can either of us attest to her skills? Um no, and given the lack of communication, we won't be. Communication in the service industry is key. Maybe Ms. Rachel doesn't need the additional business, which is fine. I hesitate to write this review because I'd almost rather keep her a secret. Once the word gets out how amazing Rachel is at doing lashes, I'll have to wait months just to get an appointment. Yes, she is THAT good! I have had my lashes done for the past 3 years and there are very few lash places in Seattle that I haven't tried(I'm a teensy bit picky and if they don't look amazing, I don't go back). There are plenty of places that do a decent job(there are also quite a few who don't even do that). And there are even a few places that do a great job. But NONE of them are as good as Rachel. She is THE BEST. Period. It's not even a contest. And I know what you're thinking, "if she's that good, she must be expensive." Wrong. She pretty much has the best prices around.
