Bought a deal off of LifeBooker for a full set of lashes + 2 refills at Lash Lounge LA. My initial appointment went great and I was so pleased with my lashes as they were extremely natural looking. And the whole appointment only took about 45 minutes. 2 weeks later majority of my lashes fell out...in clumps. I posted a picture here but the company had it removed. There were clusters of 3-4 lashes glued together falling out at a time. These are lashes that are supposed to be individually applied. I called Lash Lounge to explain my situation and they told me to come in for a refill of lashes. Upon entering for my refill bother Erica and her assistant proceeded to confront me telling me how immature and childish it was to post a picture on Yelp, and that I should have called. Hmm, I'm pretty sure I DID call and that's the reason I was there for a refill. Great business, huh? LOL. They told me that that they didn't need any "negative energy", and that I should go else where and request a refund for the deal I had purchased. Isn't Yelp here for us to provide HONEST REVIEWS and EXPERIENCES we have with a company so thay others can make an iINFORMED DECISION!? When I said this they responded saying Yelp is a SCAM. This place has no sense of BUSINESS ETHIC. It's a joke. All this over a picture of the work THEY DID.I gave them a chance to fix the botched lash job. I really wanted to like this place. It has a few mixed reviews and I've gone to places that have been absolutely amazing with mixed reviews. Found the place relatively easily. Went on a Sunday, so was able to just use the street parking out front. The place was very cozy and I thought this would be an amazing experience. When I walked in, there was another person getting her lashes done. This was my first time getting this done, so I had no idea what the process was. I hopped up and laid down on the table. From there, she put on the tape for the lower lashes. I closed my eyes from there and on she went. Towards the beginning, she dropped her glasses on my face. She apologized, saying she never had that happen before. Docked one star for that. She also dropped a few tools either on my face or really close to my face. The entire time her and her colleague were talking with the other client. I understand the need to indulge in conversation, but the topic was rather off putting to me. They were talking about the modeling and acting industries and how people in the industries were 'backstabbers' and how different actresses would do sexual favors for parts. Two of my really good friends are very high up in the modeling world, so the conversation made me particularly livid. I should not feel this way during a process that is suppose to be relaxing. After all was said and done, I opened my eyes and I could barely open my right eye because it felt like there was something in it. I just thought it may be the glue, so I didn't say anything for a minute but I kept tearing up and was in a lot of pain. I finally said something and she said it was most likely just the glue. After about 3 minutes of non stop crying, she took a look, said she didn't see anything and to give it a few minutes. A few minutes later, same thing. So she finally laid me back down and took the time to locate the problem lash and cut it out. I finally got up to leave and she handed me a few cards of what I thought was after care instructions. Once I got home, I realized they were just business cards and I never received any after care instructions. I ended up youtubing it and have been following those instructions since I got these done on Sunday. Fast forward to today (Tuesday morning). I woke up and noticed an eyelash on my pillow. I thought nothing of it and went to wash my face. After I was done washing my face (keeping in mind that I'm taking super good care of these lashes when doing so), I looked down into the sink and there were four lashes sitting in there. Now to my session: though specified it was a 90-minute session, Kaitlin took a little extra time - which I didn't mind at all, because she was very meticulous and made sure everything looked perfect! She listened carefully, asked specifics (i.e. desired length, curl).. And my eyelashes turned out EXACTLY how I wanted them. So I bought a Groupon for this place. I searched long and hard for a vegan and cruelty free lash extension for my wedding. I emailed them a lot, asking a lot of questions. They responded quickly provided i wasn't replying to their last response. So every time i had a question, it had to be in a new email. They also only answered one question at a time, and I had to be very specific to get the info I wanted. Anyway, I make an appointment for a couple days before my wedding, get a bunch of confirmation emails, then 20 hours before my appointment I get a text. They do not state who they are and state there's a health code problem at their location so they're relocating to Topanga. I think that's annoying, but I'll do it. So I ask them for the address. Their response is then that they need two weeks to set up. When I told them I couldn't get a refund since I already paid Groupon and that rescheduling wouldn't work because of my wedding, they suddenly stopped responding. So.... that's some great customer service. Thanks guys. Mind you, if I canceled with less than 24 hours notice, I would have been charged for the appointment. Instead, what do I get? I got a text message the morning of my appointment that it had to be cancelled citing personal reasons. That's fine if you have personal reasons, but at least give the person more than a few hours heads up. There is no way that I'll be able to get an appointment with anyone this last minute now. Today marks one full week since I've had my first set of extensions put in and I'm still in love with them! I honestly think this is one of the best choices I have made, thanks to Lash Lounge LA! I had gone shopping 3 weeks ago and the girl behind me in line had beautiful lashes and I asked her if they were extensions and she said yes. She went on and said that she had got them done at L.L.LA. She convinced me that I had to book my own appointment especially since my birthday was right around the corner and obviously I deserve it :) They do only work by appointment but that ensures me that my slotted time is only devoted for me and no walk ins trying to disturb Erica and Kaitlin. The vibes were definitely positive and had a good spirit. It was clean and organized. The lavender hand sanitizer that she used smells amazing. She asked me to lay down and get comfortable. She then asked me how I preferred to have my lashes, which was just the right amount of fullness to give me those wispy romantic eyelashes. (Lol does that make sense) She did place the tape to separate the bottom and upper lid but it wasn't painful or annoying how other reviews made it seem. I literally did not feel her even touch my lashes that's how comfortable I was. Just once in a while she would ask me to turn my head. The conversations we'd have were great, she was very passionate about her love for animals and I liked that. I felt like I was there talking to my friends as if I knew them a life time. The process took a little bit over an hour but so worth it. As soon as I looked in the mirror I knew I made the right choice. The reviews are mixed and honestly I don't understand why, some people are just not satisfied enough. I loved Lash Lounge LA and don't mind driving the 30 min drive from the San Gabriel Valley to University Park. At school, work, with family and friends all compliment how good my lashes look! I'm just going to explain my experience from my groupon deal... I had my lashes done before, but couldn't resist this deal. I purchased the deal for a full set with 2 refills. I got one refill thinking I would give her another shot. Big mistake! I will not be going back for the last refill. This is my experience from both visits... During the process Erica told me to open my eyes, which caused my eyes to have a burning sensation. When I got my lashes done before, I wasn't allowed to open my eyes until 2-3 minutes after she was done. Never once did she say open your eyes during the process. When I was done there was excess glue on the top and bottom of my lashes, which she told me it would come off when I took a shower. The glue did not come off of the bottom of my lashes until 1 week later. The top was there, eventually it fell off in clumps. I had to use oil/tweezers on the bottom of my lashes to pick most of the glue off. There's a shield tape that most use she did not have that, it was a small strip of tape. The entire process took her 45 minutes to give me a full set of lashes. I will admit I was late, but when I got them done before it took 3 hours. When I got my lashes done before the lashes would eventually fall off one at a time, these came off in clumps. Clumps! As I walked out her door to my car I had lashes falling off. Which led me to believe she did not put it on one at a time. On the second visit I had to come back the next day b/c most of my lashes fell off. I woke up and I had lashes all over my pillow case. I called to cancel my appointment for the last refill and her assistant began to explain the situation with the glue. I didn't even tell her why I was canceling. She told me, " that people were calling to say that their lashes were falling out sooner and they needed to come in sooner for their refill appointment," (I did not ask nor mention anything, just said I wanted to cancel.) she proceeded to blame it on a store on Melrose ( I won't mention the name) where they got the glue and it was the glues fault, but now they went back to the old glue and it shouldn't be anymore problems. I got a groupon deal for a set of lashes with 2 refills. I will not be going back for the last refill, nor will I refer. Some of my own lashes came off in the process, when I looked at the clumps of lashes that were falling off I could see my lashes in between them. read more

I went to lash lounge last Saturday with my sister because we purchased groupons for full lash extensions. The vibe was pretty awkward; when we arrived they told us to wait in the lobby area and didnt give us any proper introduction or tell us when we would be helped. Erica was going to work on both of us and was supposed to start on my sister but was about 30 minutes late. Erica didn't even apply the lashes on my sister because she had moisturizer on and the moisturizer had oil in it. I told her I didn't have any moisturizer on so she applied the lashes on me and said that they stuck on very well. Now, at this point I knew she was lying to my sister because I actually use body oil to remove my eyeliner make up and I had used it the night before without proper eye-washing before going into lash lounge. If it stuck on my lashes, it should've been fine for my sister. Before Erica started on me (after deciding not to complete my sister's session) she told me she was going downstairs to get a croissant first. Really? Now I'm wondering if she refused to do my sister's lashes because she wanted a lunch break. To me, that is very unprofessional. I've had lash extensions in the past, and to be honest, I don't like the work at lash lounge. You can get a much better deal with better quality and customer service elsewhere. I was on time and found out that I was not in their system because they did not put me in, even when we scheduled this appointment 3 weeks in advance via email. She even tried to make it seem like it was not their fault for not having me in their system because they did not reply back "CONFIRM". I've gone to lash places all over LA and Lash Lounge is by far the highest quality, longest lasting and most full lashes I've found! I LOVE Kaitlin - I've been seeing her for years now and she puts so much care into individually gluing the lashes. It takes between 1 and 2 hours but Kaitlin is a joy to talk with and these lashes last through EVERYTHING - showering, swimming, crying (haha!) I'll never wear mascara again! It's a little tricky to find because it's a shared complex but there are signs and Kaitlin is reachable by phone! The online booking makes it easy to make appointments and Kaitlin is always flexible with my schedule if work comes up. I bought a groupon and for the price my expectations weren't too high but I've always wanted to get them done and figured this was my chance. Erica did such an amazing job! I think she even surprised herself at how perfectly my lashes came out. They are exactly what I described to her but better! I'm even one of the photos on yelp. (I'm 99.9% sure it's me.) They make me feel very glamourous and there is no make-up prep in the morning anymore. What a time saver. Super reasonable price and you get top quality service. Okay, so Lash Lounge LA... I have to admit, I was NOT excited to get my eyelashes done, considering the horrific experiences I have had with other places I have visited. I never really put on lash extensions before. I'm content with the ones I have, and very much so comfortable. BUT! When I saw the Groupon online, it was a terrible time in my life where a place in South Gate butchered my eyelashes the day before my big Vegas trip. So, I bought the Groupon. I made an appointment and waited about 2 weeks to go in. After counting down the days, it was the day for my hairless eyes to be filled with lashes. I didn't think they could do it, considering the amount of lashes that were ripped out due to the terribly strong glue the monsters in South Gate used. But Kaitlin & Ericka (I do hope I spelled their names right) worked together to make it happen. They looked great! I've gone about 2 more times after that, and it just seems like they get better and better each time. I love the Charlie Chaplin artwork that Kaitlin creates and displays in the waiting rooms. I love the music that they play while you relax. You can tell that you are around old souls and wonderful people. Even my Hispanic mother has gone twice. She loves it! If mi madre approves, everyone should approve. Ultimately, I cannot stress enough how great this place is. Last thing I would like to point out is the care. I'm reading comments, and I'm (not saying this because I'm in love with the customer service and the actual service at Lash Lounge LA) noticing that the the bad reviews are about "clumped lashes." Look ladies (and possibly gents,) here's the thing: If you're not taking care of your lashes, such as: not brushing them; not cleaning them properly; wetting them for 24hrs after application; putting waterproof mascara; putting too much mascara- them lashes are going to clump. Inevitable if you don't care for them. Clean them properly with a brush. Trust me. I've clumped those suckers up the first time, and didn't complain because I figured it out. As an avid yelp user, I'll admit that the mixed reviews of this place kind of had me a little nervous at first. But considering i had already bought the Groupon a month prior, I decided to continue with the offer. Their studio is located in a strip of small businesses fairly close to USC. Maybe it's because I've been down to this part of LA a few times... but I didn't think the area was that 'sketchy' as other reviews have mentioned. However, for someone who isn't from the area, I can totally understand why they would receive that impression. Anyway... So I walk up the stairs and into their studio, and I'm immediately greeted by Kaitlin and Erica. It's a very simple and small room, and everything seemed orderly and in place. Erica helped me right away, and to be honest, the entire process ran smoothly! I didn't think any of the girls were rude at all. Knowing of all the negative reviews, I was probably paying attention to a lot more detail. Yet I still didn't seem to find anything to complain about. My experience was totally fine, I love how my lashes look, and overall I'm glad I continued with my offer! :) Erica did an awesome job, and made me feel comfortable about the whole thing. I've been a customer for several months and honestly, I'm super shocked by some of the reviews. People are complaining because they can't get scheduled in. That's because Lash Lounge is awesome and in high demand. The lash artists (Erika and Kaitlin) are incredibly sweet, courteous, and genuine... hard qualities to come by in Los Angeles. In addition, my lashes lasted one month or more depending on how well I took care of them. It's really up to the person. I've been to other lash businesses and none of them made the experience memorable, nor took as much time to ensure the lashes turned out well. Scam- bought their Groupon and went to book my appointment, called multiple times over the span of 3 weeks, left voicemails and emails- no response- finally just said screw it and went to book online, they required a CC number to hold the appointment which I'm normally ok with, their no show policy is 30% charge which is normal too but as SOON as I booked the appointment their receipt page said they don't accept Groupon and will use the card on file, I emailed and called again multiple times saying to cancel my appointment because I paid on Groupon and haven't received a response, so if the charge goes through I'll have to report it as fraud. Since my last review, Erica did reach out to me and offered me a complimentary full set of lash extensions with Kaytlin. I appreciate her nice gesture and accepted. Since then, I've been back a few times. The quality of application has definitely improved and after a few weeks, my lash extension still looks full. I think the key is simply to wipe off any existing makeup before the application, which Kaitlin does before we start. Kaytlin takes her time and does an amazing job each time. I love, love, love Kaitlin. I have been coming to Lash Lounge for about 3 years, and for me it has been a great experience. I live in DTLA and work at USC so the location for me is great. Plenty of street parking and limited parking in the back. The ladies have a laid back, vegan, organic, hippy, loves dogs, sweet vibe. We just mesh....If this is your jam you are going to love you some Erika and Kat. They also have a yoga studio next door now, as Kat is also a yoga instructor. Fab lashes and a little surya namascar? Yes please. Reading some of the other reviews, I feel like maybe this just wasn't "their" place. For me? I love a little French Cafe radio, witty conversation, and chill vibe, especially priced so reasonably for the quality. Before finding them, I had been to other studios, but once I found Lash Lounge through a Groupon, I have remained faithful. I love my lashes, like the other reviews they look amazing without makeup, and just make your whole face come alive. I run the gamut from a more natural look to Kardashian fabulous depending on my current mood, and love the artistry that Kat has with making the fullness of the lash and the curvature of the overall lash. I wear contacts and before I found her, I found the glue to be clumpy and irritating, and I never find that with LL. I do find that with any lashes I do "shed" about 1 every quarter... just like your hair sheds when it gets warm? So do your lashes, but generally I don't have that much fallout and get a refill about every 3 weeks. At $110.00 for a package of (3) refills, you can't go wrong. I feel the same way about my "lash lady" Kat, that I do about my hair gal. I don't switch it up. I would no sooner go to anyone else for my lashes than I would about my highlights. My appointment was set for 10.30am, I showed up 15 minutes early and I am accused of being late because they don't like my review. Do not go here! I trusted the reviews on yelp and decided to go here through a groupon deal. She does not apply the eyelash extensions on a single eyelash. She clumps them together. After the appointment was over, I sat in her room for about 15 mins just waiting for my eyes to stop watering. Even less than 24 hours, I was still in pain. I had to go somewhere else and get them removed. She is not the best. She will mess up your eyelashes. Even during the procedure, she is awkward and does not seem to have much experience. She did listen to what I wanted, but the final product did not turn out the way I wanted. Her studio, website, and the reviews on yelp make her seem like she is a expert professional that knows what she is doing. I would be very cautious about going to her. Her studio is brand new, so all her equipment and layout are all new. However, she has no experience placing eyelashes and will make your eyes water and hurt. BE CAREFUL. I booked my appointment online weeks prior only to find myself getting texts from them on the day of my appointment asking me if we can move my time from 8:30pm to 7:15, to 7:45 then back to 8:30 all within the span of three hours - it was soooo frustrating! People have lives you know?! They even had the nerve of texting me that "it's rare that a salon is running early" (with their appointments) Really?! I tell you what's rare - how I deal with salons with NO BUSINESS ETHICS - you have a long way to go!!! I'm writing this in response to Kat's reply to my initial review. First off, my last name isn't clearly written out so you wouldn't be able to identify me. Secondly, I got married last May, I went to you in February with the last name of DIZON. I did not return to you for my wedding lashes. I don't take the time to write bad reviews to put someones business down. I had an honest bad experience with you, and just sharing my input with others. Obviously something wasn't done right if my eyes stung, and the next time I got lashes wasn't until the end of the year somewhere else. I am not saying you do a horrible job to all, I'm just sharing my one experience with you, which was unfortunate. So before you continue to "act like you have no idea who I am", maybe you should learn to be slightly more professional in how you react to negative reviews. I admit it. I'm a deal whore for lashes. Nobody and I mean nobody is getting me to pay more than 100 smackers on lashes unless and until I have Kardashian funds (and even then I don't know...). That said I've had a few experiences around town and although I'm not an expert on lashes I do think I can comment objectively on what I've paid for. I needed some new lashes this week and thought I'd check Lash Lounge's availability. Couldn't find the card so I went through Yelp. Yowzah! Hadn't planned on leaving a review, but clearly my sista could use some of my two cents. So I'm chucking mine in. I enjoyed my experience at Lash Lounge! And my lashes were great. They weren't heavy at all and aside from wearing my glasses differently--all was well, and I got a ton of compliments. The fall out wasn't bad either, and now almost 6 weeks later the remaining ones are blending in with mine. I don't wear a lot of make up, until stage gigs( and then it's ridic) so this works for me. She is not a chatty Kathy, but I can be (she met me in the middle). She is a quiet, focused personality and I got the feeling that she took her job seriously. So I shut up and let her do the damn thing for the most part. She took about 90 minutes, give or take our discussion about what I wanted and payment and all that. I didn't feel rushed or like "get off my face already". My experience on the table was fine, I definitely didn't feel like my face was being burned--and I'm sure neither one of us would've tolerated that. For me, I can't freak out about glue irritation. I know the difference between being blinded and stinging. I am paying to have artificial fibers attached to my EYElashes with a chemical bonding agent (it's not water) --there may be some unpleasantness involved with that. I've had visits at other places with no stinging at all and that was awesome. This time around there was some stinging, but it was minimal and very temporary--sometimes it happens. If you know of a place that promises no stinging I'd like to try them. In the end, I do not feel like my eye health has suffered in any way. If you've had a mammogram and lived to tell about it, you should be fine. So to each his own, I dug Erica's work and easy vibe. One thing that's clear is that every lash technician/artist's style and technique is different! It's an intimate situation, if you're super high maintenance, she may not be for you. I am very happy with my results at Lash Lounge LA. First off I would like to say I used a Groupon, and was a little skeptical about the whole procedure, but both Erica and Kathleen were very welcoming. I liked their flexibility, the fact that I was driving during rush hour and called to say I was running late, and they went ahead and waited for me, was great. They did however asked me if by a certain time I wasn't there that it would be best to reschedule. I was hoping not to, since I had been waiting for over two weeks for this appointment. The location can be a little tricky, thank goodness for gps. The area is a little sketchy, but I am not one to run away from charm. It reminds me of living in an actual city and not some suburban homogenous town. I appreciated the individualistic touches inside the studio, the Charlie Chaplain painting on the entrance wall is awesome. I would like to emphasize that this is not your typical lash clinic or spa. They are strictly there for lashes and don't do any other service. So don't expect a lady in a white robe to do your lashes. This doesnt mean the studio was not clean, it was very clean. When I finally went over to the table where Erica asked me to lay down, she had created a very calming environment. Curtsims were closed and some spanish guitar was playing in the background. Very relaxing. She did use a lamp that was a little warm on my face, but it was not discomforting. She asked me what I was looking for, and I told her I wanted a procedure where the eyelashes looked naturally curly and full, but not show girl full. Very natural. She then went ahead and recommended something in lash jargon, and explained what that meant. She also went through the different steps and what to expect. The glue, she did say would sting a little, that it would feel like soap in my eye. And yes it did feel like that. It was the fumes more than anything. This is the only reason why I didn't give it five stars, the discomfort of the glue. When she was done an hour after, she let me take my time to slowly open my eyes. When she brought over the mirror, I completely loved my look. She really listened to my needs. It was natural and beautiful. I was very excited to bat my eyelashes at everyone!! Now usually I don't do reviews, but in this case, it's a must. I had been searching for a place that does good eyelash extension at a reasonable price for an upcoming trip I was going on. I must have Yelped thousands of places but I wasn't comfortable with the work I saw posted, price, or location. After about a month of searching I almost gave up when I saw on my Groupon an ad for this place. I read plenty of reviews and the majority were of people who were "Ecstatic" with the work done. I must say I am 1 more person added to that list. My lashes lasted for the entire trip and weeks after! I was very pleased that I didn't have the tarantula/webbed duck feet look that the extensions you get from the nail salon. P.S.A LADIES STOP GETTING YOUR LASHES DONE THERE!!! It's a horrible look and feeling when all you're natural lashes fall off due to the poor craft done there. I decided to go back for a refill 3 weeks later and I'm even more satisfied with the work done on my lashes. If you are looking for a great place for eyelash extensions, this is your place!
