6 months old... we always have fun!
    Erica T.

We take my 6 month old and always have a good time! We get there when they open so we can get a shady seat... no food options, bathrooms are a little grungy considering all the "youth" hires sitting around. We usually go on Sunday and it's not very crowded but the park area adjacent is always packed so parking fills up fast! $4 per person, Worth the fee!

Most everything. Super clean. Lifeguards should try to keep kids out of lap lanes is my only suggestion.

The place was very clean and the water park area is fantastic. Lifeguards could smile a bit and maybe greet with a smile.

We swim here weekly for swim team and the lifeguards are so friendly. They even turn the splash area on for us before practice.

Ask the Community - Las Posas Park Pool

How deep is this pool? Can we bring scuba gear in here?

Las Posas Park pool is, at it's maximum depth, 6 feet deep. Unfortunately, we do not allow scuba lessons at Las Posas, but the dive tank at Woodland Park pool is perfect for anyone looking to hold a scuba class

Las Posas pool is smaller than Woodland Park pool- there's no diving board but it's heated and there is a fun splash pad.

Unfortunately, we have noticed that staff members, including one of our favorite instructors have left and are planning on leaving their employment at this location. I have learned that this is not because of the job itself, but because of the conduct and behavior of the owner whom I shall refer to as "B" "B" does not seem to value his staff in the way we, the customers, do. It is my understanding that he is often rude, dismissive, abrupt, and insensitive to staff. I have also learned that there is hardly a staff member at the school that has not been brought to tears by the words of 'B" I have personally observed some of his interactions with staff, and was horrified that they would be spoken to in the manner that he did. This type of business relies on their staff, specifically their teachers. Without them, there is no business. I am quite concerned that there will be a continued turnover, which will have a direct negative impact on the students at the school, including my son. I know that this is a family owned and operated business. I have great respect for the Callan family. Unfortunately "B" is risking their good reputation, and I truly hope someone in the family business can step in and change the course such that the staff be treated as they deserve. I know that many families, mine included, will follow our child's instructor if they should leave this location. This 5 star rating is only because of the employees.

First, they might pair your kid with another older kid (that already knows how to swim but spends more time with them) or extremely younger like a 1 year or younger (which requires more time and attention) and you split your 20 minutes, so you really get 10 minutes but they always end about 2-3 minutes early. You are responsible for your toddler when the teacher is teaching the other kid. They just leave the toddler on the steps and say it's your responsibility to watch them. My son almost fell off the steps, would have drowned. So be prepare to get into the water. They include in their contract that it's your responsibility even though you pay for them to teach. Or wait awhile for them to be done with the other kid. Second, they start on time and end it 2-3 minutes early, with a break after each go. So swim time is like 7-8 minutes. Older kids get more water time if paired up with them. They get to swim the whole pool while toddlers get like less than 1 minute. Third, they are extremely inflexible if you have to miss one class. You can't just reschedule with a set date, they make you call the day before to find any time available the next day only and it could be 10am or 5 pm, but who knows. I would imagine they have their schedules out already a week in advance! But no. The front lady is extremely difficult and hard headed regarding rescheduling. Also, I don't know if they have certain milestones for toddlers, but just teaching them to be comfortable in water. No like learning to hold your breath under water or floating or swimming to safety. Some teachers are better and spend more time with your kid, no consistency. What a waste of money and time for toddlers. Never coming back.

They can't wait to come back & my 3.5 year old cries when we leave. As someone with a background in education, I can tell how much skill & experience she has (she has 50 yrs of teaching experience) in everything she does with them that looks so natural but she's doing everything for a specific reason to get them closer to being proficient swimmers. We had previously only done a local ISR 2 week class with our oldest when they were very little but it was very traumatic for me & I didn't want to go back. I'm so thankful they can learn now in such a fun & effective way! I'm telling all my friends -- run don't walk to these swim lessons!!

This swim club was the most awesome find for us this year! This swim club is based at the Palomar…read morecollege pool. My 6yr old son started with their summer individual swim lessons. These swim lessons are taught by ICAC's most seasoned competitive swimmers. Each session is 2 weeks long, Mon- Thurs for 30 minutes of private instructions. The cost was $140 per each 2-week long session. My son loved these lessons from the very first. He was always fearful of water. I tried having him take group lessons before but he did not care for those. I am so glad we switched to ICAC. From not being able to swim even for 5 secs to completely swimming the length of an Olympic size pool took 6 weeks. After the end of the summer, he tried out and even made the swim team! He has been on the teal swim team (beginners) for about 2 months now. He is able to swim multiple laps (200m). They do all kinds of fun swim related activities during practice such as practicing their dives from the diving board and from the side of the pool. They play swim games with toys and pretend they are sharks and minnows. What a fantastic opportunity to gain confidence in his ability to swim. He is quite fearless now about being in the water and we owe it all to ICAC! Plus head coach and ICAC founder, Scott, is so nice and very dedicated. I see him all the time at the pool. The other coaches are the same.

We relocated from San Francisco to San Diego and moved into a home with a pool, so making sure our kids were safe around water was one of my top priorities. I actually scheduled swim lessons for our daughter, Emmy, with Krista before we even moved here! Emmy started lessons when she was 2, continued again the next summer at 3, and this past summer our son Hayes joined in at just 1.5 years old. Krista has such a gift with young children -- she's patient (yet firm), calm, and knows exactly how to make them feel comfortable and confident in the water. We've seen incredible progress each summer. Both kids have not only learned essential water safety skills, but they also love being in the pool now. The peace of mind knowing my young children are safe around water is truly priceless, and it makes living in Southern California (and being around so much water) so much less stressful. Swim Synergy has been such a wonderful experience for our family, and we're already looking forward to lessons again next summer!

Coach Brande is direct and makes it the goal of her quick and efficient lessons: the kid will learn to swim. By the end of our session, both of my kids are confident in breathing while keeping their head underwater and swimming.
