Like the other reviews have said, I have nothing but rave reviews for Coach Brande and her ability to get kids to quickly get comfortable in the water and ready to swim! Coach Brande is direct and makes it the goal of her quick and efficient lessons: the kid will learn to swim. Both my kids are perhaps on the "older" side in regards to learning how to swim (8 and 10), one being extremely terrified of the floating feeling. By the end of our session, both of my kids are confident in breathing while keeping their head underwater and swimming. I managed to get Coach Brande's info from parents at my local elementary school and will continue to do the same by passing this along to any other parents looking to get their child(ren) water safety ready. Now: do they offer an adult version of this????? read more

Wish I could give a 100 stars! I was so happy I was able to get a spot this summer coz the classes get filled up fast. We had an amazing experience with Coach Brande. Before starting the swim class, my 6 yr old son would cry whenever his face got under water. But Day of 1 of swim class, he couldn't stop saying how much he loved Coach Brande & wished he could be in the swim class forever. Just 2nd day of swim class, he was floating a bit by himself with his face under the water. By 3rd day, he was diving under water to get the rings on the floor of the pool. Coach Brande's skills in teaching kids how to swim is so effective and she makes it fun for the kids too. I am so thankful for her teaching my kid a life-saving skill. read more

iSwimin10 - 3rd maintenance session with Coach Luke after finishing the 2-week immersion method of Coach Brande. My son swam end to end of the pool - Swimming Lessons/Schools Near Me

If you're looking for expertly guided swim lessons for your child, run, don't walk to iSwimin10! Coach Brandee took my fearless 3.5-year-old twins from playing in the water to understanding the concepts of swimming. Playing into each of their strengths and challenging them to do more each and every session. They went from jumping in the pool with floaties (the extent of their swim training at home) to truly learning the basics of how to swim in 10 days. The swim show was a sight to behold because we couldn't believe how far they came in such a short time. We couldn't be more grateful for the time and money invested in this important, life-saving skill. Coach Brandee has instilled a love of swimming in our children that we'll forever be grateful for. Thank you! read more

Coach Brande is simply amazing. After 1 1/2 years of failed swim lessons from other places in the area my 6 and 4 year old were still afraid to put their heads completely under water. After taking Coach Brande''s 10 day program I was astonished to see them diving for rings, jumping in the pool, and actually swimming. By Day 2 they were putting their head under. I am so impressed by her teaching methods! My kids loved her. She fills up fast every year, but I highly recommend her. read more

Coach Brande is amazing, we have been coming here for several years in a row. We wanted to make sure our daughter is completely 100% confident after a long winter of no swimming and she exceeded our expectations and is now perfecting her strokes. We love this place and feel super ready for any and all swimming this summer and beyond. read more

I can't say enough good things about CoachBrande and the 10‑day program at iSwimin10. When my little 3.5-year-old boy started, he could barely hold his breath--just a couple of YMCA safety classes and the courage to stick his face in the water. Ten days later, he was: Diving in confidently Holding his breath and floating for a solid 10seconds (front and back!) ‍ Jumping in, turning around, and getting back to the wall on his own CoachBrande creates a calm, playful atmosphere that melts away fear. Watching my son relax, laugh, and push himself each day felt like witnessing magic. With the fear factor gone, his progress skyrocketed--he genuinely couldn't get enough pool time. He still needs practice lifting his head to breathe, but CoachBrande has given him a rock‑solid foundation and a lifelong comfort in the water. I only wish I'd had a coach like her growing up instead of forcing myself through the fear. If you're on the fence, do it--your child will gain skills, confidence, and a love of swimming in record time. Worth every penny. read more

We've tried every type of swim lesson available for our daughter (6 years old), and iSwimin10 is the only one that worked! Coach Brande is so wonderful with the kiddos and has put together a great program that is efficient and fun. She makes the kids feel safe and acknowledges their nerves while helping them gain confidence in the water. I cannot say enough good things about our experience! read more

My son (5) and daughter (3) have absolutely loved learning from Coach Brande. My son had taken lessons the past two summers but struggled with taking breaths between strokes. After only a few lessons with Coach Brande, he is a much calmer and more confident swimmer. My daughter was scared her first two lessons, but I was shocked at how quickly she was holding her breath, putting her entire face under water, and most importantly, enjoying swimming. The 10-day intensive exceeded my expectations in every way. The kids learn AND have fun. read more

We've had such an incredibly successful summer learning to swim with Coach Brande. My son went from an inexperienced swimmer to a confident and capable young man in the pool. We highly recommend Coach Brande! read more

Brande did an amazing job teaching my 4, 5 & 6 year old during the 10 day swim course! Highly recommend! I was concerned because my children were not very comfortable in water, and somehow Brande managed to get them comfortable quickly, to where they were happily going underwater day 2! My kids loved it so much they didn't want to leave! They can't wait to get the chance to do it again next summer! Thanks Brande! read more

iSwimin10 - Brande with my 3 children on the last day of the intensive swim course :) - Swimming Lessons/Schools Near Me

Brande is an all-star coach and this program WORKS!! My daughter was soooo afraid of the water and literally cried every day for a week leading up to swim class. Within minutes of her first class, Brande had her cracking up and totally at ease. From that point forward, she couldn't wait for class every day. Brande is a phenomenal mixture of soothing and reassuring, while also encouraging the kids to maximize their learning and potential. We recommend her to everyone. read more

Signing up for iswimin10 was the best decision I could have made for my son. He was so terrified of putting his head under the water and cried HARD the first 2 days of class. But coach Brande is an actual magician and made my 4 yr old son feel so safe in the water. By day 3, he was no longer crying before class. And by day 5, he was SINGING about how much he loved his new swim class and his new swim teacher. I can't recommend coach Brande highly enough. I feel so grateful to have found this swim intensive class. This class is a MUST for any kiddos learning to swim. read more

Back here for the third year for swim lessons for my boy with coach Brande. She is an amazing coach!!! My first one had a hard time before starting here, she was so patient and work with him, he's now jumping in the water and enjoy swimming. The 10 days course works! Not 1:1 but I would call it a semi-private class since only 3 students at a time. First time I just booked one course which I regretted. This year we book back-to-back courses so they can continue to learn and won't forget. Bonus.... There used to be a bunch of mosquitoes here which she made changes to the area, so far so good, no more bites! read more

It's hard to put into words just what an amazing experience we had with Coach Brande. My 5 year old son has been in swim lessons since he was 6 months old. Every summer starts rough and he hates putting his face in water. Usually, by the end of his second or third lesson he's swimming again and has no fear of the water. This summer his usual swim lessons didn't have any lesson times that worked for us. We started trying different swim schools. At both the YMCA and Jim Herrick schools my son told the instructors he didn't want to get his face wet. He ended up kicking around the pool for the entire lesson holding a float. This just encouraged his fear of getting his face wet and exasperated the problem. When we joined Coach Brande's intensive he was off the charts upset at even going in the water let alone swimming. It was as if he had never been in the water before. His first day was a complete disaster. I felt so dejected and truly thought his mental fear of the water was going to be something that a standard swim lesson was not going to be able to solve. Coach Brande had an infinite amount of patience with him. She spent extra time working with him and to my absolute shock during his second week he turned the corner and suddenly was having fun again! Not only was he having fun in the water but she teaches good swimming technique and not just floating and randomly paddling and kicking. We were definitely one of the toughest students she's ever had but I'm so happy to say we're also one of her biggest turnarounds she's had since she's been teaching. My son went from hating swim lessons and having to be handed over to loving swimming and Coach Brande. He's told me that he doesn't want to swim with anyone else ever again. He's so sad that his 10 days with her have come to an and end. He keeps asking if he can have play dates with Coach Brande since next summer is so far away. Both my son and I are really looking forward to many more summers with her so we can work on swimming strokes. read more

Coach Brande is the absolute best. Our daughter who was afraid of getting her hair wet learned to swim in 3 days. She's been water confident ever since. Continued through to the strokes class and even a mini swim team. Love love love. read more

If I could leave coach Brande 100 stars I would! She taught my youngest to swim in two weeks, and she re-taught my older son (who took 4 years of lessons with other teachers and still could barely swim) in just a few sessions. Her method works! I wish I knew about Brande's program years ago! It was worth every penny. read more

Absolutely recommend Coach Brande! My daughter had a terrible experience at a different swim place and she was so nervous about starting swim again. Coach Brande took the time to talk to me on the phone about her method and was so incredibly gentle with my kid. Within minutes of being in the water, my daughter loved swim class and the coach Brande!!! She would come into swim class singing and dancing each and every day. We are sad it's over. On day 10 there is a "show" to see all the hard work the coach and kids did during these ten days. Highly recommend coach Brande! read more

Coach Brande is amazing! She has taught both of our children to become water safe and then to swim! My son is 3 and couldn't even stand having water on his face in the shower, but by the end of week 1 he was easily able to put his entire face underwater without goggles (and without tears). By the end of the second week, kids will have the skills to hold their breath, paddle, and kick effectively in the water. Coach Brande has a wonderful way with kids of all ages, and both my children loves going to swimming class to learn from her. She implements plenty of positive reinforcement, reassurance, realistic goals, and strict rules (very necessary around the pool). Kids pay attention to her, are eager to learn new skills, and both of mine were so proud of what they accomplished after each class! I thoroughly recommend iSwimin10 and Coach Brande! read more

Coach Brande is hand's down the most highly skilled, compassionate, effective swim teacher I've ever met! I used to teach swim lessons myself during my college years and since becoming a mother, I've hired several other swim teachers, none of whom immediately connected with or made anywhere near as much skill progress with my daughter as coach Brande did within the first few days. My child was afraid to go underwater (no matter how many times I brought her into our own pool and gently encouraged her). Coach Brande broke through her barrier of fear and within 5 days she was not only going underwater but swimming to me underwater with delight. We are only on Day 8 of lessons and my child can now jump into the pool, touch the ground, and safely swim back to the wall to climb out! To top it off, Coach Brande's rate is more reasonable than other coaches/swim schools in our area. Her lessons fill up quickly (I signed up in February to secure a spot in June) so it is well worth it to email her several months prior to when you want to begin lessons. Every time I emailed her with a question or concern, she replied right away on the same day which is also extremely rare among swim teachers in LA. I would recommend to run, don't walk -- or swim as fast as you can -- to get into the iSwimin10 Program helping your child learn to love water and be a safe swimmer with this wonderful coach. read more

My 7-year old had a great experience! Coach Brande is absolutely amazing. My daughter was so squeamish in water - she didn't even like getting her face wet in the shower. After lesson 2, she would voluntarily dunk her head in the pool (which had never happened before). It was like magic. After 10 lessons, she can now do starfish, jump in the pool and swim short distances. She is way ahead of what I expected in 2 weeks, and she loved the lessons from day 1. I absolutely recommend iswimin10 and coach Brande! read more

I was excited to bring my 4 year old son to iswimin10 after reading all the great reviews. After failing to sign him up late in the season last year, I was able to get him into the first session of the 2023 season. Coach Brande did not disappoint. My son has had weekly private lessons for almost a year at another venue but the 2 week intensive with Coach Brande was a better fit. He really enjoyed learning in a small group. And in the one-on-one lessons we are doing elsewhere he is too distracted by what everyone else is doing in the pool. She is very patient with the children and by the end of the session my son was much more confident in the water. I'd highly recommend especially if your kid is easily distracted. read more

Coach Brande is the BEST! I've had 2 of my 3 kids take swim lessons at iSwimin10 and they both absolutely loved and enjoyed every minute. We didn't have a great experience at another swim program but this is truly the best. The approach is brilliant. She's gentle and patient. Highly recommend! We have confident little swimmers on our hands now :) read more

I am so happy that I stumbled upon this diamond in the rough! Coach Brande is such an amazing instructor. She is very attentive to each child and caters to their comfort and pace. This class has been such a joy and my son has grown tremendously. He is learning so much in such a short period of time and loving it. I highly recommend!! read more

Coach Brande is AMAZING!!! Both my younger kids learned to swim with her and absolutely love her. She is so patient and fun with the kids. My oldest daughter also has taken Brande's strokes class which helped her become so much more confident as a swimmer. My oldest also has done two seasons with Brande on her pre-swim team and could not love it any more! All three kids wish they could swim with Brande everyday. So, so highly recommend all aspects of this great coach and her sweet school! read more

To say Brande is amazing is an understatement. I knew I wanted to put my almost 4 year old in an immersive swim class that had a small teacher to student ratio (not private). My daughter *used* to be the child that would hate washing her hair because water would get on her face. Enter Brande who happened to have an opening in one of her sessions. The other 2 kids that my daughter took lessons with were at a higher level than my daughter but Brande was able to still coach them and have them all progress at their own level. At the end of our 2 week session I was so impressed with the great strides my daughter had made and also so sad that we wouldn't have our daily Brande swim session. Thank you so much, Brande - we hope to see you next summer! read more

This is my long overdue review of iSwim10. My wife and I are so happy a good friend recommended Coach Brande to us. From day one, both of our kids were completely scared of the water. They don't mind putting their feet in the pool; however, when it comes to dunking their heads or attempting to go near the deep end, they would panic and freak out. Coach Brande assured us that this was normal, and by the end of the sessions, we would see a huge difference in their confidence levels. The next few sessions POW, something clicked in. Kids were not afraid of the water; they were happy to jump in the water, dive to get toys, float on their backs, and swim to the end of the pool. The only thing I can say is WOW and never look back. Coach Brand is amazing, and if you are looking for an excellent swimming instructor who works well with kids, look no further because iSwmim10 will be your diamond in a ruff. read more

Wow is all I can say! Coach Brande's methods work. We just recently finished our 10 day course and my 4 year old, who had no prior swim experience and was crying for the first two days, has progressed so much in such a short amount of time. Coach Brande is firm but caring and nurturing at the same time. My daughter was super sad when her lessons ended. Hopefully we can enroll again next year and sign up for some maintenance classes! read more

We love Coach Brande so much! My daughter has been swimming at iswimin10 for years and we wouldn't go anywhere else. The method has turned my child into a confident swimmer who loves the water. Thank you Coach Brande and team!! read more

I signed up both my kids for Coach Brande's swim lessons this summer and I was very happy with the result. My 3 year old daughter can now swim a short distance, jump in the pool and turn and swim to the wall, dive in to get toys out of the pool, etc. My 5 year old son attended the stroke lessons where they learn the basics of all four strokes. It's not easy for a five year old to learn so much in 9 days, but he did! I just wished she offered more advanced stroke classes but regardless might have my son take the same course with her next year! Overall a great experience. read more

Coach Brande is AMAZING with the kids! My son is 7 years old and has always had a fear of the water. He spent 2 weeks with Brande and now loves being in the pool. Not only did he learn the basics, but he loved his coach and couldn't wait to go to his swim lessons. I can't thank Coach Brande enough. I will definitely be telling everyone about our experience. Hope to post videos soon. read more

I am AMAZED at what Brande was able to teach my daughter in just 10 days. Prior to class my daughter (4.5 years old) would lose her mind any time water got on her face or in her eyes. Washing her hair in the tub was a nightmare. Day one in Brande's class she was holding her breath and putting her whole face in the water. That night, in the tub, my daughter dumped a whole cup of water on her face and said "look mom!" I was shocked! One day my daughter got water up her nose and started to cry. Brande held her, gave her a big hug, and went back to a skill that my daughter had mastered. After they did that for a while and built her confidence back up, they went back to the "harder" skill, and my daughter did it without tears. By the end of 10 days, my daughter could jump in the pool, turn around under water, kick/paddle to the wall, and hang on with her head above water. I love that she taught this drowning prevention skill. My daughter could also float on her front and back, dive for rings, and kick on a paddle board with her face in the water. My daughter is SO proud of herself and LOVES going to class. We signed up for 10 maintenance classes after our 10 day intensive was over and are continuing to learn with the other teacher, Nicole, who is equally sweet and qualified. Also, very importantly, the class starts and ends on time. I've been frustrated with other dance or music classes for kids that waste 10 minutes at the top of a 30 minute class taking role and setting up the classroom. Not here. It's just 30 minutes, and they swim the whole time! I'm very pleased with this swim school and would highly recommend it. read more

My son (almost 6) just finished this 2 week intensive swim class and (spoiler alert) HE KNOWS HOW TO SWIM! Coach Brande is incredible. She is an amazing teacher and the kids instantly trusted her and were excited to learn. Her class works. This technique really teaches kids water safety and the foundation of how to swim. I'm looking forward to enrolling my daughter and can't wait to resume maintenance classes next spring! read more

These classes were an abject disaster. If I could leave zero stars, I would! We tried these lessons last week, and had organized this in March. Her inital email, listing all her rules, was a good indicator of a rigid personality and brusque nature. My son is 3 and a half. I taught swimming, and was a lifeguard. We tried one lesson, fine (I thought!). Second lesson, she said after that my son was disruptive. She followed up with an email that evening. I agreed to help him work on what we could at home. We worked so hard, every day (before school, after school, on the way to her pool) to coach my son on what she needed from him (he found it hard to just 'freeze' to do the float, for example). Third lesson, I thought went well. By the fourth lesson, this had become just an incredibly stressful experience. At the end of class, I went to get my son and I said to Brande, "I think it was better today!" and she replied "well, I'm still just babysitting him, he doesn't listen to anything I say, this is just a waste of time and money". She went on, elaborating how he wasn't able to do what she expected. Brande spoke to me so rudely, so disrespectfully, I was absolutely shocked. My son was right there. He's 3, he's not an idiot, so listing his failures in front of him is really not helpful, or frankly, kind. I can only imagine the things she had been saying to my son when I was out of earshot. I should have pulled him out after the second class and I regret very much that I didn't. I realized then and there that this was unacceptable, and said that we would not be continuing, and I asked for a refund. She indicated that would be difficult, because I had paid cash (her form asks for either Venmo or cash). To her credit, she issued the refund for the initial deposit that evening, and the next day I had to return to pick up the balance of the refund. I understand that Brande has a method. However, you should know that if your child needs more time to grasp a skill, or to be comfortable, that simply will not work. Most importantly, she spoke to me and my son so unbelievably rudely, I can only imagine that she is also speaking that rudely to other children. My son didn't deserve that. In my opinion, she shouldn't be working with children. read more

I am so glad I found coach Brande!!! My 5 year old twins absolutely loved her and were so excited to swim every day with her. I highly recommend all parents who want their child to be introduced to swimming in the best way possible to sign up for the 10 day classes at iSwimin10. My twins had no experience swimming and as I watched them put their heads under water and jump into the pool with no fear, I was convinced this was the best decision and it all happenned within 10 days!!!! Coach Brande's methods fell in line with what I was looking for, she took her time with the children, made them feel comfortable in the water and taught them to enjoy the water as they were learning. During our 10 day sessions the children that attended aside from my twins all seemed to enjoy the lessons as well. The location of the pool is very nice and so inviting for the kids. There are so many accomodations such as a bathroom for changing, covered areas for sitting while you wait, and seats that allow you to observe your child as they learn. The pool is shaded and according to my twins the water is perfect temperature. If I could give Coach Brande 10 stars instead of 5 I absolutely would. Looking forward to coming back next Summer to learn more advanced lessons. Parents do not hesitate and do not look any further, sign your kiddos up at iSwimin10 and I promise you will be thrilled with the results. read more
