I tried Las Olas at a farmers market recently. They had a full menu available. I went with the breakfast bowl and an empanada. The breakfast bowl came with egg, pico, potatoes, choice of protein, avacado and a chipotle mayo. The bowl was good. I don't know if I would get the bacon as the protein. The bacon was cooked well. The pico was a little bit too strong for me. The beef empanada was good the outside was crispy and there was plenty of filling. read more

I remembered why I stopped coming here. The food is not worth the price and disappointment. -churros: were chocolate filled but had a different kind of seasoning on it. It wasn't cinnamon/sugar and tasted like tajin. 3/5 -queso: just yuck. They took a brick of velveta and half melted it down. Didn't add anything to it to make it "authentic Mexican" 0/5 -quesobirria tacos: fill of fat and zero flavor. It comes with raw white onion and cilantro (I asked for no cilantro). I had to use all three sauces (red/green) to make it taste like anything. And look at that tiny piece of lime! 2/5 Service was quick. That's the only positive thing I have to say. read more

This is the Mexican food stop you've been looking for! Nothing fancy or flashy-they are here to make you great food PERIOD! I knew my meal was going to be okay because they were busy. That being said, we ordered, sat at a table, our scrumptious guacamole and chips came out and within 5 minutes our food was ready! I thought for sure we'd be waiting a bit. I've been here 3 or 4 times and every time I go I try to order something new/different than the last time. Everything I've had is delicious! Super fresh. So the Las Olas in Marmora is awesome, but this review is for the one in Somers Point inside Caroline's. I called in an order, thinking I was calling Somers Point but I had actually called Marmora. I went to pick up my food in Somers Point and they asked for the name it was under. (It was PACKED in there btw). They realized before I did that I had ordered from the wrong place. I was totally prepared to drive to Marmora (because it was honestly my fault) but they were so sweet and professional. They said, " it's no problem. We will get it ready for you quickly." I swear I waited about 10 mins. and it was a big order! I had my 12 year old son with me and they gave us two slices of pizza while we waited, complimentary. This level of service is just unheard of and I will definitely be back! Thank you to the young lady and gentlemen that waited on me tonight :) read more

Wow! We lucked out by randomly finding this place on Yelp, and had no idea what a treasure it was. Immediately walked in and LOVED the Baja vibe, which, if you know Mexico, is a different kind of vibe from people who think Cancun is the real Mexico. The guys manning the restaurant were super helpful with recommendations, and we all dived into our various dishes and didn't leave an iota on our plates. Great find tonight. Everything was very good. Ground beef, pork and mahi and shrimp all good additions to burrito,nachos,tacos etc. was not a big fan of the chips and was hoping to get some queso. After searching other Mexican menus in the area, I guess queso is not a thing here. Will go back for sure. read more

Didn't feel like waiting in a bar for wings and a beer. Picked this place because it's a ten minute drive from our Ocean City location. Loved the friendly service and fun vibe in this tiny place. Only has a few tables but they were busy with take out too. We liked everything we ordered because it had fresh bursts of flavor: jalapeños, onion, lime, cilantro and tomatoes were evident on our meal. Hidden gem. This new spot is great for some unique taco creations. The owner and workers are super friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend getting tacos if you go here. The burritos and other stuff are good but not as flavorful as the taco creations. Both corn and flour shells are delicious. So I'm a big taco guy. Just love to find the perfect Mexican street food. Let me say, this place has the best tacos in south jersey. I've tried tacos all over, from basic, out of the way taquerias, to strip mall Mexican food markets, to the fast food options in the area. Las Olas is a strip mall place but always clean and is definitely a more upscale strip mall setting. Their prices reflect the pride they take in each taco they make. Tacos are $3-$4.95 so they aren't cheap. But they are packed with fresh and colorful ingredients. They also have many options - pork belly, Al pastor, carnitas, chicken, etc. I wish I had a photo of one on my phone but I don't. Trust me these are the best tacos in the area. After hearing many wonderul reviews we had to go and give it a try. This did not dissapoint. Upon walking in we were greeted with very helpful and friendly staff. The restaurant was very clean with a cool vibe. The staff were helpful in recommending things to try. The service was very quick and with a beautiful presentation of the food. The serving sizes were very big and the food was absolutely delicious. If you love mexican this place is a MUST The owner was extremely friendly and hope they succeed. I'll definitely be going back! This is for the Las olas taqueria at Caroline's in Sommers Point. They are an expansion of the original in Marmora. The food was excellent. The callimari appetizer was soft and delicious.the street corn had a twist of lime and was a little bit spicy and again delicious. I had the grilled Mahi tacos with guacamole. These were some of the best fish tacos I've ever had . Tre leches cake for desert was phenomenal. This place hit all the marks . Wow! We know authentic Mexican and this was it! I am SO glad we tried this BYO tonight when our typical favorites were closed for the off season! You can order and pay at your table via a QR code which made our visit so easy. I ordered the asada tacos and carnitas and they were both delicious. The carnitas were crispy on the ends as they should be. The asada was marinated perfectly and equally delicious as the carnitas. I ordered the side of sweet plantains and it was better than an popular place near us in the Philadelphia area whose chef trained under Chef Garces! My husband got the asada burritto which he enjoyed. My sons had the kids cheese quesadilla and the kids ground beef tacos and they loved them. Now let's talk about the salsa verde! It was THE BEST salsa verde I have ever had. I immediately told my husband that I could literally drink the stuff. When what I thought was the owner/manager came by he told us before I even said anything that they are looking to bottle it to sell before the summer and that people say they could drink it! I will be back for this sauce alone! The flavors in it were balanced perfectly with the right amount of sour, saltiness and heat. I have mixed feelings about this place. As numerous other reviews noted, the prices are high for the portions, especially for the sides and desserts. We ordered guacamole, al pastor tacos, vegan chorizo burrito and tres leches cake: -Guacamole was fine but in severe need of salt (as were the chips) and very small portion for $9 -Al pastor tacos were excellent, as was the accompanying salsa verde. If I return, these will be why -Burrito was underwhelming at best. No guacamole or sour cream and the tofu chorizo was bland -Tres leches cake was overly sweet and inexplicably spicy. Also a laughably small portion for $5 Simply put, tacos were great. You can find tastier (and cheaper) guac and burritos at Chipotle. read more

So happy I tried this place! The signature birria short rib taco was high quality and checked every box of a birria taco. I also tried the philly Jawn which I expected to be more like a taco but was essentially a quesadilla and VERY big. Also fantastic, just filling (in a good way!). Overall I wish I was in town longer or had discovered it sooner so I could come back again to try more items. Edit: I drove back for more today, yesterday wasn't enough.
