After a wonderful day at the beach with my family, we came here for dinner. Our host/waitress was friendly and attentive even though it was busy. The complementary chips and salsa were delicious and spicy. They have jarritos drinks which are super delicious. I had the bistec ranchero. It was steak with a fried egg on it, it was very good. The rest of my family got a combo platter, nachos and birra tacos. It's a good size menu but very good portions and fair prices. Highly recommend this place! read more

The food was excellent, no complaints at all. Good portions, kids menu, very authentic flavor.

I got the chicken combo platter (quesadilla, tostada, and taco), and it was delicious! the tostada was definitely the best of the three, only because the taco mess missing some toppings (it was just chicken- no cilantro or onions) and the quesadilla was just a tad too cheesey. nothing terrible though, it was all still great! my sister got the enchiladas and she said they were great, and my mom got the chicken tacos (she had the cilantro and onions on hers, but she still thought it was missing a sauce/cheese of some sort. also, something to note, they were out of guacamole when we went, which is kind of strange but what can you do? overall, our waitress was very kind and sweet, the place feels very homey, and it's a great gem in oc! read more

Highly recommend this authentic delicious charming place. The service was fantastic and attentive. Note it's small so there's a wait, but oh so well worth it! We enjoyed the shrimp fajitas, green chicken enchiladas, Barbacoa tacos, carne asada tacos. The tortillas are home hand made and so are the chips. Salsa you just want to eat more of. We look forward to our next visit. We are from CA so are quite picky of Mexican food and this family brought all their authentic recipes. read more

I got the steak burrito for takeout and they were generous with the steak which I was happy about! Everything was flavorful even the rice and beans in the burrito. It was ready when they said it was going to be and came with chips which was nice! read more

Small place. Really tasty food - authentic. Food came out piping hot, which I love. I couldn't even hold the tortillas! I had Alambre and it was excellent! My wife had flautas and they were really good. Service was medium speed and very robotic. Not a lot of energy or ambiance. But the food -- worth it! read more

Ordered ahead twice for takeout. Super pleased with the food the first time around, but not so much the second. The meal we loved was an order of chiles rellenos, and an order of enchiladas (chicken) with mole sauce. Just YUM! However, we were especially disappointed by the Entomatadas, when we returned the next evening. We asked for them with chicken, thinking it would be shredded, and tucked inside. Instead, we got huge pieces of grilled chicken just laid on top, which ruined the presentation. To make matters worse, that chicken sort of tasted "off," so was thrown out. The entomatadas themselves should have been covered in a beautiful tomato sauce, but because of the chicken laid over, looked pretty destroyed. On that second visit, we ordered 3 carnitas tacos, but discovered 2 steak tacos instead, once we got home. They were pretty tasty, but could have been served with more lime to squeeze on top. Radishes too thickly cut to easily be put in the tacos, and not enough of them anyway. The homemade chips and salsa is fabulously good! The red sauce is VERY spicy, with a delicious flavor....not for those who cannot tolerate a lot of heat. The green salsa is so tasty, too, not spicy at all. In conclusion, this restaurant is hit or miss. We'd go back again, because they clearly have some winning dishes. Once you know what to order here, it's a solid choice in Ocean City, for pickup! Dine in looked unpleasant, when we grabbed our food, but there are tables inside should the need arise. read more

This was my first time trying Cinco de Mayo and the food was great! Unfortunately I did not get to see the atmosphere and decor since we did take out, but from pictures I've seen online the restaurant looks very cute & cozy inside. I ordered 3 Carne Asada tacos topped with cilantro and onion. Loved them and they were just as you'd expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. My fiancé ordered a chicken burrito which was huge (so big she was able to save half for lunch the next day) and looked delicious. We had one slight mishap with our order (we ordered fajitas and they gave us a fajita quesadilla instead) but it was still enjoyable so no harm, no foul. I'm not in Ocean City often but I would definitely eat here again if I'm in the area and craving Mexican food. read more

This is a small storefront restaurant that packs a punch. Call ahead for seating (due to size) or, better yet, order out and enjoy your food by walking the sort distance to the beach. Authentic Mexican food with quality service. Everything our group of three had was delicious. I subtracted one star due to size of restarting small and thus there being a wait. read more

Cinco de Mayo - Restaurant Entrance - Mexican Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

Cinco de Mayo is a cute budget friendly Mexican restaurant in ocean city. The service was great, food came out fast and was delicious. We ended up trying Cinco de Mayo for an early dinner. It was not crowded and our food came out about 10 mins after ordering. Their menu has many varieties and has a separate section for vegetarian options. We ordered the sopes and chicken enchiladas and both were great. I'm normally not a salsa verde fan but Cinco de Mayos was delicious. We enjoyed our time here and the meal and look forward to returning. Things to know: -The place is very small so call ahead to see if they have a table. If not they have takeout so you can still enjoy. -street parking is available -they had two dessert options (flan and tres leches) but sadly we were too full to try either. Next time for sure! -they do take credit card read more

We were all so pleased with this cute place! There was a little wait on a Saturday night but it was totally worth it! Yummy guacamole and chips appetizer. I ordered Horchata and it was just perfect. Chimichanga platter was delicious! Everything was super authentic and tasty. My sister enjoyed her quesadilla and my Dad loved the presentation of his platter. This restaurant is definitely busy but has great team work. We will definitely be heading back! read more

This place was delicious! It's a cute little small restaurant so maybe consider take out during the evenings. We ate inside and the service was excellent. Our food was delicious. Their tacos are great and so are their entrees. Great prices too. read more

Good food. Great prices. But don't believe them when they say the guac is fresh. It arrived at the table 2 min after ordering it.

TL;DR: make sure you ask for what you want, the food is OK, the guacamole is overpriced for what you get. My wife and I arrived in OCNJ to have a long weekend and she wanted to try some Mexican. I ordered a Diet Coke and was handed a warm can. At least give me a glass with some ice (ironically, my wife asked for a glass with ice with her already cold spring water without issue). The guacamole was good (nice cilantro flavor) but very small (about 3/4 cup) for an appetizer. I asked if their buffalo wings were breaded and told "no they aren't"; great I'm on keto so I ordered some and got a plate of heavily batter breaded wings. I tried to cut away the breading but wound up not eating them. Now the entrees were good, we had bifstec ranchero and chicken enchilada with steak and mole sauce. All in all it wasn't bad but many things could be better more on the service than the food. read more

One of our favorite OC restaurants but they really dropped the ball. Apparently gave our order to someone else and have been waiting over 45 minutes for them to remake it. Originally was supposed to be ready after 35 minute so instead of eating at 7 pm we'll be lucky to eat at 8. Should have remade our order immediately instead of putting us at the end. Won't return; too many other places to get a good meal read more

Cheerful servers who were very accommodating. Our orders (huevos ranchero and beef quesadillas) were both very good. Pleasant eating area with table coverings (Mexican-ish fabric covered by clear 1950s-ish plastic slipcover-ish clear flexible vinyl(?)) that weren't overly appealing. We'll go back. Nice Sunday lunch. read more

Cinco de Mayo is a solid choice for Ocean City NJ...right now because of COVID19 they are offering pickup only. Our large order for 10 was placed over the phone and ready on time 45 minutes later. I love that they include guacamole with almost all of their entrees. I had a Jalapeño and Chicken quesadilla, it was very good but it was a bit light on the protein. I had a piece of their carnitas burrito, again light on the protein and heavy on their rice. The prices are more than reasonable, I would definitely be willing to pay more for more protein. Their rice and beans are top notch while their hot sauce is homemade and spicy. I would not hesitate to order from them again. read more

Cinco de Mayo - Pickup line - Mexican Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

Their service is fast, their restaurant is clean, and their food is fantastic! The taco salad is stellar.

If you are looking for delicious, homemade Mexican food, Cinco de Mayo is the place to go. This is by far the best Mexican spot in Ocean City. Service is very friendly and fast, and the dishes are loaded with fresh ingredients. A hidden gem on West Street, we stopped by for lunch. Before long the tables were filled and the food was flowing out of the kitchen - amazing fragrant and sizzling plates. I had the Pollo a la Mexicano - a dish of chicken, fresh tomatoes, onions and jalapeños. The rest of the crew had tacos and quesadillas. The menu was friendly for both young and old, spicy and mild, locals and vacationers. We will certainly be going back for more! read more

Yes yes yes. This is everything you want it to be. Delicious food, huge portions, reasonable prices. I can't say enough about this little gem in Ocean City. We had shrimp sautéed with peppers and onions which was so flavorful! My husband loved his steak burrito. The people working there were friendly. Worst restaurant experience ever. I ordered tacos, no cheese or dairy, just beans, lettuce, tomato. Got home it was covered in cheese. Called and tey said they'd make it again. Picked up ordered got home only to get a mouth full of ground beed. Vegan here, Awful Called and they said I'd have to come in the next day at 11 to speak with owner. Go there and am told owner is not in. After much discussion and the were so rude today and yesterday on the phone a man comes out of the kitchen and tells me I just should have spit out the beef. He was laughing at me when I told him I couldn't eat the meat or cheese due to a medical condition. Terrible customer service. No respect for customers. I. should have trusted my instincts and gone to Bandanas in Wildwood. Worth the drive for great food and service. I had no dinner last night and was treating horribly by the staff and owner. Stay far away. Food sucks service is worse! Wish I could add zero stars they don't even deserve one star! read more

Husband and I tried it out for a Date Night. Cute little place and was packed but definitely lost a star because there was no air conditioning and it was hot in there. It was cooler outside at 80 degrees. We got the guacamole and chips for an app. The guacamole was very good and flavorful! I got a Chicken Chimichanga which was amazing. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and mmm melt in your mouth so delicious! I did not like their rice and beans. My husband got a steak burrito and he said the same that it was delicious. The steak was juicy and beans, cheese, and sour cream were just perfect. He also got beef tostados and said they were also very good and crunchy. We would definitely go back and try something else. read more

We've been coming to Cinco de Mayo since they opened around 12 years ago. I've gone through the entire menu and you can't go wrong - everything is great!
