This was my first time trying Cinco de Mayo and the food was great! Unfortunately I did not get to see the atmosphere and decor since we did take out, but from pictures I've seen online the restaurant looks very cute & cozy inside. I ordered 3 Carne Asada tacos topped with cilantro and onion. Loved them and they were just as you'd expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. My fiancé ordered a chicken burrito which was huge (so big she was able to save half for lunch the next day) and looked delicious. We had one slight mishap with our order (we ordered fajitas and they gave us a fajita quesadilla instead) but it was still enjoyable so no harm, no foul. I'm not in Ocean City often but I would definitely eat here again if I'm in the area and craving Mexican food. read more

Cinco de Mayo is a cute budget friendly Mexican restaurant in ocean city. The service was great, food came out fast and was delicious. We ended up trying Cinco de Mayo for an early dinner. It was not crowded and our food came out about 10 mins after ordering. Their menu has many varieties and has a separate section for vegetarian options. We ordered the sopes and chicken enchiladas and both were great. I'm normally not a salsa verde fan but Cinco de Mayos was delicious. We enjoyed our time here and the meal and look forward to returning. Things to know: -The place is very small so call ahead to see if they have a table. If not they have takeout so you can still enjoy. -street parking is available -they had two dessert options (flan and tres leches) but sadly we were too full to try either. We were all so pleased with this cute place! There was a little wait on a Saturday night but it was totally worth it! Yummy guacamole and chips appetizer. I ordered Horchata and it was just perfect. Chimichanga platter was delicious! Everything was super authentic and tasty. My sister enjoyed her quesadilla and my Dad loved the presentation of his platter. One of our favorite OC restaurants but they really dropped the ball. Apparently gave our order to someone else and have been waiting over 45 minutes for them to remake it. Originally was supposed to be ready after 35 minute so instead of eating at 7 pm we'll be lucky to eat at 8. Should have remade our order immediately instead of putting us at the end. TL;DR: make sure you ask for what you want, the food is OK, the guacamole is overpriced for what you get. My wife and I arrived in OCNJ to have a long weekend and she wanted to try some Mexican. I ordered a Diet Coke and was handed a warm can. At least give me a glass with some ice (ironically, my wife asked for a glass with ice with her already cold spring water without issue). The guacamole was good (nice cilantro flavor) but very small (about 3/4 cup) for an appetizer. I asked if their buffalo wings were breaded and told "no they aren't"; great I'm on keto so I ordered some and got a plate of heavily batter breaded wings. I tried to cut away the breading but wound up not eating them. Now the entrees were good, we had bifstec ranchero and chicken enchilada with steak and mole sauce. All in all it wasn't bad but many things could be better more on the service than the food. read more

Cinco de Mayo is a solid choice for Ocean City NJ...right now because of COVID19 they are offering pickup only. Our large order for 10 was placed over the phone and ready on time 45 minutes later. I love that they include guacamole with almost all of their entrees. I had a Jalapeño and Chicken quesadilla, it was very good but it was a bit light on the protein. I had a piece of their carnitas burrito, again light on the protein and heavy on their rice. The prices are more than reasonable, I would definitely be willing to pay more for more protein. Service is very friendly and fast, and the dishes are loaded with fresh ingredients. A hidden gem on West Street, we stopped by for lunch. Before long the tables were filled and the food was flowing out of the kitchen - amazing fragrant and sizzling plates. I had the Pollo a la Mexicano - a dish of chicken, fresh tomatoes, onions and jalapeños. The rest of the crew had tacos and quesadillas. Go there and am told owner is not in. After much discussion and the were so rude today and yesterday on the phone a man comes out of the kitchen and tells me I just should have spit out the beef. He was laughing at me when I told him I couldn't eat the meat or cheese due to a medical condition. Terrible customer service. No respect for customers. I. should have trusted my instincts and gone to Bandanas in Wildwood. Worth the drive for great food and service. I had no dinner last night and was treating horribly by the staff and owner. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and mmm melt in your mouth so delicious! I did not like their rice and beans. My husband got a steak burrito and he said the same that it was delicious.
