I don't think I've ever felt betrayed by Yelp reviews...until now…read more During a recent road trip we stopped here to picked up some lunch/dinner because tacos are quick and easy and their Yelp rating is high. Location/services: Upon entering the building I immediately noticed the heat. It was a hot 98 degree day and the restaurant felt like an oven and was maybe 3-5 degree cooler than it was outside. I then quickly noticed this was a very simple operation (almost like a food truck), and not much to the menu, but there were folks sitting and eating and a few others waiting to order, so I assumed the food must be great. We ordered 4 meals (tacos with rice/beans) which was meant to be eaten there but after waiting in line and feeling like we were in a hot box, we decided to make it to go. We sat and waited for our food (about 20 mins), we chatted and observed our surroundings and it became very apparent the restaurant was not maintained with basic cleaning because it was very grimy and just plain dirty. I then used the restroom and it was absolutely disgusting. Our ordered was called and the staff was very nice. The food: As I mentioned, we got 4 orders of tacos (all carne asada) with rice/beans, and we asked for salsa and limes. We got grilled jalapenos, lemons and one sandwhich baggy filled with red salsa. Not a big deal. The meat was fine but the tortillas were inedible. They were tough, flavorless, and greasy. The bean and rice were ok. We ate enough to curb our hunger but none of us finish our food. Upon my best judgement, I had convinced myself that the food was gonna be great because their Yelp rating told me so. I was so wrong! One last note, there was nothing here that resembled a bakery/panaderia. So if you think you could also grab a treat here, you are wrong.

Las Mañanitas - Fresno County's New Breakfast Gem! What an absolute treat to be invited to the soft opening of Las Mañanitas -- thank you so much for the special invite! From the moment we walked in, the experience was impressive. The location is perfect with easy parking (a HUGE plus in Fresno!), and the open kitchen adds a really fresh and inviting vibe. Now let's talk about the food... WOW. I've had my fair share of chilaquiles, but these were next level. Perfectly crispy, saucy, and flavorful -- hands down the best I've ever had. The ingredients were clearly fresh and the attention to detail in the flavors really stood out. We also got a sneak peek at the new dinner menu, and it looks absolutely mouthwatering. You can tell they're putting just as much heart into dinner as they are into breakfast. The customer service is still finding its rhythm (as expected during a soft opening), but the staff was kind and eager to please. I have no doubt they'll get it dialed in quickly. Can't wait to come back -- Las Mañanitas is definitely going to be a staple in Fresno's food scene! read more

This place is a gem! From the warm service and friendly faces to the delicious breakfast and rich café de olla, I'm so glad we decided to give it a try. I ordered the huevos rancheros. They were absolutely delicious! They were topped with flavorful, authentic chorizo and served with refried beans and potatoes. Next time, I might skip the potatoes and substitute them for something else, but the handmade corn tortillas (tortillas de maíz) were incredible. Even my toddler loved them! The Apache omelette was a standout. The chile verde was rich and flavorful, and they even added costillas de puerco. Easily a 10/10 dish. The only disappointment was the bolillo French toast. It really missed the mark for us. It tasted more like bolillo con azúcar than French toast. I'd even suggest they rename it to better match what's being served. That said, the breakfast sausage was tasty, and the scrambled eggs were solid. The whole experience felt like being in my family's kitchen. We'll definitely be back! read more

Las Mañanitas - Clovis, CA Okay Clovis fam--why did no one tell me Las Mañanitas is that girl?! Walked in craving chilaquiles and left wondering if I should throw a brunch party here. The vibe? SO cute. Bright, colorful, and full of that fresh Mexican charm without being cheesy. Like...this place understood the assignment. The food? My chilaquiles rojos came out looking like they were styled by a food blogger. Crunchy, saucy, cheesy PERFECTION. The salsa had a little kick, and the crema drizzle? Say less. Also tried a horchata that tasted like it was made with love (and cinnamon magic). Service? A+ energy. Everyone was sweet and on top of it--like they actually wanted you to have a good time (imagine that!). Overall: It's giving Sunday reset with good food and even better vibes. Go with your girls, your mom, or just take yourself out--because yes, you deserve a breakfast that slaps. 10/10. Can't wait to go back! read more

I recently went to Los Mañanitas in Clovis for breakfast and it was good. When you get there, they seat you pretty quickly, and the place is pretty spacious. We were able to order fast, which I liked. I ordered the chilaquiles with beans and eggs and did half red salsa and half chile verde salsa. The chilaquiles weren't bad, they were a little watery, but they still had good flavor. I also ordered a carne asada taco. It was kind of small in my opinion, but it still tasted good. They also have mixed drinks, and I tried the Besito Lindo. It had Pinot Noir, guava syrup, orange liqueur, fresh strawberries, and a fresh berry mix. The drink was very flavorful and really good. Overall, this is a good place to go for breakfast. If you're looking for a good Mexican breakfast spot in the area, this is a place to check out! read more

Las Mañanitas in Clovis delivered a great breakfast experience. Even on a busy Sunday morning, the staff moved quickly, and I was seated and served without much wait. The ambiance felt lively and full, which added to the energy of the meal. I ordered the chilaquiles, and they came out piping hot in a molcajete. The red sauce stood out a little more than the green, but both had good flavor. Their beans were amazing, and the homemade corn and flour tortillas took everything to another level. The new Clovis location has more tables than their old spot on Butler Ave, which helps with the weekend rush. The food quality was great, the service was quick, and the overall experience was solid. Housed in a former MOD Pizza, it features a spacious dining room with plenty of tables and chairs, along with a sizable patio strung with café lights that creates a welcoming atmosphere. Although Don Pepe is often celebrated as a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall taqueria serving authentic Mexican food, I actually prefer this location because of its roomy layout. It is also noticeably less crowded than the Blackstone Avenue location near Gettysburg Avenue or the Woodrow Avenue restaurant across from Fresno State, making for a more relaxed dining experience. While Don Pepe is best known for its shrimp and fish tacos, combination plates, and other seafood specialties, I almost always find myself ordering something filled with carne asada or pollo asado. As soon as you walk in, the aroma of the meats grilling in the kitchen fills the restaurant and immediately whets your appetite. The carne asada is made with thinly sliced, good-quality beef that is smoky, deeply savory, tender, and juicy, with beautifully charred edges that add even more flavor. The pollo asado is equally impressive. It is juicy, tender, moist, and caramelized from the grill, with just the right amount of char to give it a delicious smoky finish. One detail I especially appreciate is that the tacos and burritos are topped with whole pinto beans, a style commonly found in Northern Mexico. The beans are creamy, rich, and deeply savory, tasting as though they have been slowly simmered with bacon and onions, much like frijoles charros. While this style is less common in much of California, I enjoy seeing it here because it adds another layer of flavor and authenticity. The tacos themselves are enormous, generously filled with meat and beans. With prices starting at around $3 each, they offer outstanding value. The housemade salsa bar is another highlight, with fresh, vibrant salsas ranging from smoky and earthy to intensely spicy, offering something for every palate. Service has always been friendly, fast, and efficient. I am a fan of Don Pepe's consistently delicious food, and this Clovis location strikes an excellent balance of flavor, quality, generous portions, speedy service, and a spacious, comfortable dining environment.
