We came here on Taco Tuesday, and wow--it was busy! The line was out the door, but it moved much faster than I expected, so we really didn't have to wait long. The seating isn't the best, especially on such a busy day, but everything else made up for it. The staff was incredibly nice and patient, and they handled the rush so well without seeming overwhelmed. The restaurant itself is clean with a really nice interior. The tacos came out hot, loaded with toppings, and were so flavorful. At only $1.99 each on Taco Tuesday, they're an incredible deal. You also have to try the aguas frescas! The pineapple is my favorite and was the perfect drink to go with the tacos. We'll definitely be back for Taco Tuesday! read more

We called the order in at 6:55 and the food was ready. 35 minutes later. the pick up line is not for phone orders. They need to clarify that on the sign. I think this is a wonderful Taqueria. Much needed in the Fresno area. I haven't tried their original locations in San Diego county but it was delicious here. They have two lines, the first line you order you food, the second line you give your order to the food preps. We went towards opening week so it was a bit hectic and looks like they didn't anticipate so many customers. For what we got, the food was really good. Order a few tacos and asada fries. Everything was good, some of the meats needed more seasoning but for our second go around, it was a lot better. I figure the first time it was more rushed than anything else, so I don't blame them. First time visiting here, and I was pleasantly surprised! The decor was bright, chic, yet so inviting. There were multiple tables and a few booths. We ended up getting the order to go, and I was so enthralled with all the choices, I didn't get any other inside restaurant pics- next time. The service was great, and when I took my receipt to the pick up area, the kind server said, I'll give you another taco when he knew it was my first visit. I was also offered to try anything else I wanted. My son devoured his chicken, and the soyrizo I thoroughly enjoyed. There was a fully stocked self-serve salsa and sides bar that had 2 salsas, radishes, cucumbers, limes, and more. The beverages were so refreshing as well. I had been wanting to try this place since it opened. I would pass by and there would be a line to the door most of the time. It seemed like the hype for a while so I went in to try it myself. I placed an order fro pickup at around 11am on a Thursday because I had seen how long the lines would get, and I did not want to wait that long. So I went ahead at ordered online. I arrived there at around 11:15 and surprisingly there was no line, just a couple of people dining in. The inside of the taqueria is nice, very modern Mexican grill style. They have a glass display by the cash register of the all the agua fresca flavors that they have. I went in, picked up my food and left. The service was decent. I honestly expected more of a nicer, pleasant service for it being a place that is usually packed. The place itself looked very clean, I will give them that, and everything seemed pretty organized. You could see the grills where they were making the meat, so that was nice to be able to see. I ordered an asada torta, I requested online that they add avocado to it, which they did not, which shows that they did not read my order correctly. As for the flavor, nothing special, just an average asada torta. It felt very plain to me. I ordered a side of fries too, which were cold already. If there's something I don't enjoy, its eating cold fries. The agua fresca was pretty good. I got the lime and cucumber one. It was a little more on the sweeter side than I prefer. The only thing I did not like about it, was the amount of lime pulp and cucumber shavings it had. I was not able to drink it at ease because of how much pulp and shavings it had. I paid almost $30 for everything, which I thought was a little excessive, considering it is a taqueria. Overall, I would not come back. It's more of a one time thing and that's it, nothing special, nothing that makes it stand out from any other taco place. read more

I have seen the $2 Taco Tuesday sign posted on the street corners for months and decided I finally needed to try it. We dropped by around 7pm on Tuesday and it was pretty busy. There are two lines. One to order and the other to pick up your tacos. I'm not sure how much I like that process because the line moved slow and I would've loved to just sit and wait for my food. Once you get up to the window for your tacos the guys do ask how you want it dressed (salsas, onions, cilantro, guac) and do it for you. There's also a salsa bar if you'd prefer to do it yourself. Inside is decorated nice. Anyway, I ordered 2 asada tacos, 1 birria, a strawberry cream drink and my SIL got the horchata. The tacos were pretty solid. Not skimpy on the meat or anything and had good flavor. I only wish I grabbed an extra salsa or two to go since most of the salsa sat on one side of taco. The strawberry cream drink was okay, not the best but not the worse I've had. Huge for about $6-7. My SIL said the horchata was watered down though. Overall, I'd def be back! read more

I usually go to the east side for street tacos but this was on my bookmarks and I had to knock this out the way. I been here before when it used to be Rustika.. lowkey looks the same but with a Spanish twist. I noticed the prices went up compared to some of the menu pictures I seen online. I went with two cabeza tacos and one asada. My bf did two birria and two asada tacos. I got everything on mine and he didn't want guac on his. His birria tacos came with the consommé. Service was great. You can head to the window after ordering and tell them how you want your tacos. The way the tacos look does give it a tacos el Gordo vibes.. like the ones I had in Vegas. Taste ain't the same but it was still good. I also ordered a asada quesadilla to share with my bf. I got sauces and guac on the side. They have a green sauce, red and fresh one. There's a salsa bar by the front door and you can load up on sauces, limes and radishes if you desire. The Red one had a little kick to it. Not bad at all. Haven't returned here since they first opened their doors. Yesterday, Sunday just after 3pm my family and I were shopping in the area and decided to grab an early dinner. Thankfully they were not busy, it was quite shocking to see lines out the door to no lines. But it was nice that we weren't in the middle of all the chaos and we got a chance to sit and enjoy our meal. We finally got to try other proteins such as the chicharron Tacos that they sold out of when we first came as well as their rice and beans. We ordered a grilled cheese meal for our kids under the kids menu which came with a drink and fries. My husband and I both got tacos. This time around the guac had more flavor than it did when they initially opened. I honestly do not recommend the asada here, the 2 different times we ordered the meat was dry, hard and gamey. The other proteins such as Cabeza, and El Pastor definitely taste better and has so much more flavor. The grilled cheese was fresh and delicious as well as the fries, they were lstraw fries, and perfectly crunchy and seasoned also large proportioned. Generously portioned tacos that will satisfy your taco craving! I am a loyal south of Shaw taco connoisseur and typically avoid chain restaurants. But Frida's definitely shattered my bias. I tried the carne asada, carnitas and adobada taco and each was delicious. They do not skimp on their protein portions and the toppings added to the overall flavor profile. I was hungry when I arrived and the three tacos were more than enough. Tortillas were 5/5. Their ordering system can be a bit confusing. You order at the register and then take your receipt to the second window to have your order completed. The person at the register did not clearly explain this and we noticed that one customer ended up waiting for a while before we explained that he needed to go up to the second window. My favorite tacos are the adobada and the chicharron! My first time trying chicharron tacos and I was quite surprised! It's packed with so much flavor. If you're a texture person maybe not the right choice lol.. service was fast. First you have to get in line to order, if you order a drink then they hand you that at the register. Then there's another line where you pick up your food, that's when you can customize your ingredients. I'm not a big fan of all of the avocado they slap onto your tacos but some is good! I ordered the cucumber lime Agua Fresca and it was exactly what I needed--cold, refreshing, and not overly sweet like at other places. Also, huge. Like, carry-it-with-two-hands huge. For tacos, I went with one carne asada and one birria. The birria was my favorite, juicy and packed with flavor, but honestly, the carne asada was just as delicious. The tortillas were dipped in grease and heated to the perfect temperature. They do not skimp on the meat. Each taco had enough filling to easily make three. The first time I spotted this spot, I wasn't even here for tacos. I was next door getting froyo, living my best life. Then I saw the line for this place stretching into the parking lot like it was the newest iPhone drop. It was 100 degrees out and people were willingly slow-roasting themselves for tacos. I did the responsible Yelp Elite thing and basically ordered a taco sampler platter (except carne asada, which I somehow forgot... don't ask, I'm still mad at myself). I treated it like a scientific experiment: same toppings, same salsa, and a bite-by-bite flavor study. Results of my Very Serious Taco Science (scale of 1-10): * Birria: 6 (saucy but didn't blow my mind) * Carnitas: 5 (mid at best) * Chicharrón: 7 (surprisingly the star) * Pollo Asado: 6 (solid but not memorable) * Cabeza: 5 (meh, let's move on) Ordering was cool, the staff was nice and didn't rush me through my taco TED Talk. I am sad to say that the food is slightly better than Chipotle , but has the same amount of flies in the dining room as Chi-poodle. The ordering process is awkward at best. You flow to the right and place your order at the register. Once you order, you get another receipt to take over to the food prep area - and that is where the taco assembly begins. On my first and only visit, I opted for the carne asada , carnitas and adobada tacos. I had to try three tacos for two reasons: 1. These tacos are small as hell.Gone in 3 bites! 2. I had to try different meat options to know which ones are good, and which ones you can pass on. The carne asada was a little overcooked and lacking that grill flavor. The carnitas taco was pretty decent, and probably the best of the three options. The adobada taco was dry as my dead Grandma's elbows. All tacos come with onions , cilantro , salsa and a sh** ton of guacamole. In fact, too much guacamole for the taco size. I ordered a side or rice and beans and they were not good. The beans were salty- like my attitude . The rice was crunchy and dry too. On a side note, there is no alcohol and no fountain drinks. I'll round up to 3 stars , and I am being generous. . It's open late!! It's great to have a place in Clovis that's open later than 9 pm. The dining area is nice, open.The staff was friendly and even came out to ask how everything was. First time trying pineapple with el pastor tacos copying someone in front of me, it was really good and something I'll be asking for moving forward. (Give it a try!!!) The asada is good along with the carnitas, good flavor and never dry. I go for $2 tacos on Tuesday & Thursday's. I've probably been 4-5 times so far. The very next day I decided to try chilaquiles, added 2 eggs for $5. Tried to add asada but unfortunately it wasn't an add-on option. It was plated nicely, the potatoes were good, green sauce was cool and definitely needed the eggs. I wish they had a spicy orange habanero sauce since their spiciest is not that spicy. This place is located in the old brunch bar. It very spacious with plenty of seating options. Upon entering I noticed there were two lines with no clear direction of which one to go to first. This was the first time visiting and I must say the tacos were delicious. The tortillas were fresh and moist and the asada was da bom ! My only comment would be blob of guacamole they add to the tacos was a little much ! Next time I'll ask for it on the side . I lived that they asked if you wanted the grilled onions and or grilled pepper on the side and that for me was an absolute plus as I love that stuff . The staff was very friendly. It was a little confusing walking in and trying to figure out where the line would be . Also the tree decor is a little much as it coves up the menus while you wait other than that it very nice inside and lots of Fresca's to choose from . I did note one more things that they have a very large breakfast menus but the lunch menus is kinda small and hidden. My family and I are super disappointed with this place! We went in close to 8:00 on a Friday night. Not super busy so we were able to find seats. When we left at 9:00 it was much busier. When you come in, the line forms to the right but the menu is on the left so you can't really view the menu until you get up there. Then you get in another line to tell the person assembling your food what you want in them. Brunch is until 1:00 so after 1:00 they literally only offer tacos, fries, and burritos. No kids menu, and no salads- that and breakfast/brunch is only offered until 1:00. My kids ordered carnitas tacos (their go-to). My youngest did not like them and my oldest commented about the grease running down her hand. I got a carnitas burrito and also super greasy. They were out of rice. My husband got a combined carnitas and asada burrito and he was disappointed with his as well. Two stars because the aguas frescas were good. If you don't like "pulp" in your drinks, don't get the cucumber lime- it was tasty, but I had cucumber bits in every sip. Two kids can likely share an agua fresca. You can ask for a cup with ice to split it. They don't have ice water, only bottles ($2 for a smart and final bottle). They have Mexican cokes and jarritos. No fountain drinks. Unless we go in for brunch, we likely won't be returning. I think it was just too greasy. I did overhear that they have taco Tuesdays and Thursdays. read more

This is a really good spot to have some great Mexican food in this part of town. It's definitely made fresh to order cause you literally can see them starting and finishing your order. Their variety of meats are on point and I'll have to give a huge MUST to their asada. They don't up charge you for the fixings like a lot of all the other Mexican food places in the area do.
