It is in a convenient location so I stop by when I need to grab a quick bite to eat. The tacos were really good when they first opened but now I feel that the quality has gone done. I ordered carne asada and the meat was bland tasted like it was boiled. They added fish tacos to the menu and those were really good. You order at the counter then get tacos at a different counter. The staff is friendly. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. They have one TV showing games. They have beautiful Frida mural on the main wall.
SERVICE: there's definitely room for improvement on the ordering process on Taco Tuesday. We called the order in at 6:55 and the food was ready. 35 minutes later. the pick up line is not for phone orders. They need to clarify that on the sign. For as long as the lines were the staff was very friendly. FOOD: We ordered the Asada, Carnitas & Chicharron. Our favorite was the Asada. They are very generous on the guacamole so make sure you get plenty of napkins. This is the 4th business in this location. I'll be back but not on Taco Tuesday!
I think this is a wonderful Taqueria. Much needed in the Fresno area. I haven't tried their original locations in San Diego county but it was delicious here. They have two lines, the first line you order you food, the second line you give your order to the food preps. We went towards opening week so it was a bit hectic and looks like they didn't anticipate so many customers. For what we got, the food was really good. Order a few tacos and asada fries. Everything was good, some of the meats needed more seasoning but for our second go around, it was a lot better. I figure the first time it was more rushed than anything else, so I don't blame them. Asada Tacos - Needed more seasoning 7/10 Al Pastor Tacos - Was delicious! 10/10 Cabeza Tacos - Really good 8/10 Asada Fries - Our favorite 10/10 Horchata - 9/10 Jamaica - 9/10 Overall it's a great place I recommend for a quick bite. Love the design of the restaurant as well.
First time visiting here, and I was pleasantly surprised! The decor was bright, chic, yet so inviting. There were multiple tables and a few booths. We ended up getting the order to go, and I was so enthralled with all the choices, I didn't get any other inside restaurant pics- next time. The service was great, and when I took my receipt to the pick up area, the kind server said, I'll give you another taco when he knew it was my first visit. I was also offered to try anything else I wanted. My son devoured his chicken, and the soyrizo I thoroughly enjoyed. There was a fully stocked self-serve salsa and sides bar that had 2 salsas, radishes, cucumbers, limes, and more. The beverages were so refreshing as well. The cost overall is a bit high, especially for the beverages. I definitely would return though, and maybe check out their Taco Tuesday specials.
I had been wanting to try this place since it opened. I would pass by and there would be a line to the door most of the time. It seemed like the hype for a while so I went in to try it myself. I placed an order fro pickup at around 11am on a Thursday because I had seen how long the lines would get, and I did not want to wait that long. So I went ahead at ordered online. I arrived there at around 11:15 and surprisingly there was no line, just a couple of people dining in. The inside of the taqueria is nice, very modern Mexican grill style. They have a glass display by the cash register of the all the agua fresca flavors that they have. I went in, picked up my food and left. The service was decent. I honestly expected more of a nicer, pleasant service for it being a place that is usually packed. The place itself looked very clean, I will give them that, and everything seemed pretty organized. You could see the grills where they were making the meat, so that was nice to be able to see. I ordered an asada torta, I requested online that they add avocado to it, which they did not, which shows that they did not read my order correctly. As for the flavor, nothing special, just an average asada torta. It felt very plain to me. I ordered a side of fries too, which were cold already. If there's something I don't enjoy, its eating cold fries. The agua fresca was pretty good. I got the lime and cucumber one. It was a little more on the sweeter side than I prefer. The only thing I did not like about it, was the amount of lime pulp and cucumber shavings it had. I was not able to drink it at ease because of how much pulp and shavings it had. I paid almost $30 for everything, which I thought was a little excessive, considering it is a taqueria. Overall, I would not come back. It's more of a one time thing and that's it, nothing special, nothing that makes it stand out from any other taco place.
This space has changed multiple times over the years, but I hope that Frida's Taqueria stays forever. I went on taco Tuesday because I was told they had specials. Yes they do! $1.99 street tacos on Tuesday. I ordered 2 chicken and 2 steak. It comes with onion, cilantro, salsa and guacamole. I was also offered grilled onions and peppers. The food was scrumptious, and what a deal! This is my go-to place on Tuesday for sure and any other time we crave Mexican food.
I have seen the $2 Taco Tuesday sign posted on the street corners for months and decided I finally needed to try it. We dropped by around 7pm on Tuesday and it was pretty busy. There are two lines. One to order and the other to pick up your tacos. I'm not sure how much I like that process because the line moved slow and I would've loved to just sit and wait for my food. Once you get up to the window for your tacos the guys do ask how you want it dressed (salsas, onions, cilantro, guac) and do it for you. There's also a salsa bar if you'd prefer to do it yourself. Inside is decorated nice. Anyway, I ordered 2 asada tacos, 1 birria, a strawberry cream drink and my SIL got the horchata. The tacos were pretty solid. Not skimpy on the meat or anything and had good flavor. I only wish I grabbed an extra salsa or two to go since most of the salsa sat on one side of taco. The strawberry cream drink was okay, not the best but not the worse I've had. Huge for about $6-7. My SIL said the horchata was watered down though. Overall, I'd def be back!
First time trying this taqueria and loved the atmosphere and design! Great selection to choose from. My family came in and we ordered 5 tacos (as I ordered one) and a plate of chorizo and beans. They were NOT STINGY with anything!! Tacos were STUFFED and big portions for the great price! I believe it was the owner who brought us our tacos and ended up giving me two instead of the one so I wouldn't be left out. The kindness really struck me as I've gone to many places to eat and been given so much overcharge for even sauce! Everyone working here was so nice and helpful! Will be coming back for more tacos soon! Thank you guys for my wonderful experience
Haven't returned here since they first opened their doors. Yesterday, Sunday just after 3pm my family and I were shopping in the area and decided to grab an early dinner. Thankfully they were not busy, it was quite shocking to see lines out the door to no lines. But it was nice that we weren't in the middle of all the chaos and we got a chance to sit and enjoy our meal. We finally got to try other proteins such as the chicharron Tacos that they sold out of when we first came as well as their rice and beans. We ordered a grilled cheese meal for our kids under the kids menu which came with a drink and fries. My husband and I both got tacos. This time around the guac had more flavor than it did when they initially opened. I honestly do not recommend the asada here, the 2 different times we ordered the meat was dry, hard and gamey. The other proteins such as Cabeza, and El Pastor definitely taste better and has so much more flavor. The grilled cheese was fresh and delicious as well as the fries, they were lstraw fries, and perfectly crunchy and seasoned also large proportioned. The restaurant was fairly clean and they had a beautiful Christmas tree. The food was better and the staff was nice, I would return!
The place itself is nice, but I was expecting more flavor from the tacos. The cash register girl seemed annoyed lol but I figured because people were lingering around the register still thinking of what to get while there was a line of people. You place your order and then walk towards another window where they make the taco in front of you. The man messed up my boyfriend's taco and suggested that it would taste better that way...sure. The music playing was nice. We went on a pretty empty day. Was expecting more from the taco. They do serve you a whole lot of meat and guac but it still lacked flavor.
Generously portioned tacos that will satisfy your taco craving! I am a loyal south of Shaw taco connoisseur and typically avoid chain restaurants. But Frida's definitely shattered my bias. I tried the carne asada, carnitas and adobada taco and each was delicious. They do not skimp on their protein portions and the toppings added to the overall flavor profile. I was hungry when I arrived and the three tacos were more than enough. Tortillas were 5/5. Their ordering system can be a bit confusing. You order at the register and then take your receipt to the second window to have your order completed. The person at the register did not clearly explain this and we noticed that one customer ended up waiting for a while before we explained that he needed to go up to the second window. Plenty of seating with aesthetically pleasing decor. We noticed they have a $1.99 Taco Thursday special and look forward to returning for that.
My favorite tacos are the adobada and the chicharron! My first time trying chicharron tacos and I was quite surprised! It's packed with so much flavor. If you're a texture person maybe not the right choice lol.. service was fast. First you have to get in line to order, if you order a drink then they hand you that at the register. Then there's another line where you pick up your food, that's when you can customize your ingredients. I'm not a big fan of all of the avocado they slap onto your tacos but some is good! It's busy so try to grab a seat first if you can. Drinks are great! The cucumber & lime is my favorite, they do tend to put a lot of ice in it so ask for light ice....
I stopped by Freida's recently, and wow -- what a great experience. It's a beautiful little spot where the cooks make the tacos right in front of you and let you pick your own toppings. Everything looked fresh, smelled amazing, and tasted even better! The tacos were seriously delicious, and the aguas frescas were the perfect touch... It's a bit of a drive from home but close to work and 100% worth it. If you love a good taco and friendly vibes, definitely check it out!

$1.99 Tuesday! That's typically when we go, at this price I like to treat friends and family. I have tried most of the meat, and it's all delicious. The al pastor is probably my fav. Their Agua frescas and matcha are good also. The salsa bar is always fresh with plenty of options. read more

Had to come to Clovis today to try Frida's, and the place is really beautiful inside. The vibe and décor are very well done, and the cashier was super friendly, which made the experience even better. We decided to try 3 Adobada tacos and 1 Al Pastor taco, and honestly they were a solid 8/10. The meats were good, and I loved the guac salsa they put on the tacos--it added great flavor. For the kids: * Asada quesadilla with fries - my daughter liked it * Chicken taco with beans and rice for our 1-year-old - the chicken was okay, not the greatest, but the beans and rice were fire Drinks were also a highlight: * Strawberry Lime - perfect flavor, very refreshing * Banana drink - not our favorite * Strawberry cream drink - really good They also have a salsa bar, and all the salsas were good, which is always a plus. Overall, a great experience with good food, friendly service, and solid drinks. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Wow!! What a hidden gem ! Very big and spacious nicely modeled establishment. The tacos were 3.75 each, and at first I was shocked at the price, but THEY WERE WORTH IT!! They do not skimp on the meat. Very big portions. The asada isn't seasoned so next time I'd skip that meat. But the carnitas and adobada were VERY well seasoned!! I'd definitely go back and try their birria next. read more

First off we had a big party of football coaches and players and were able to get seats. The staff was extremely friendly. My daughter ordered Asada fries and I had the asada taco, carnival taco and a cabesa taco with everything on them. We also ordered watermelon flavored and strawberry lime flavored Agua frescas and Nan were they good! Back to the tacos, the carnitas taco was my favorite, tender juicy meat with no fat and great flavor, the cabesa taco was also amazing, tender, juicy and packed with flavor. Our entire group loved everything they ordered. The staff came over and checked on us to see how we enjoyed our experience. We told them everything was great! Inside is clean and they have staff walking around helping out. We will definitely be back! read more

This place definitely has a different vibe than your traditional taqueria, with a mix of modern and authentic food. Tuesdays and Thursday's are their 1.99 taco specials. I tried their chicken, asada, and soyrizo papas tacos. This is the first place I see that doesn't charge additional for guacamole on tacos. I think the tacos were good and filling but the tortillas a bit dry. I also tried their mango agua Fresca, it was okay a bit too sweet and tasted natural mixed with a bit of artificial flavoring very big portion for the price! There was lots of seating and it didn't feel too crowded and would constantly clear up as people were coming and going. I think their concept of getting your food is very unique and perfect to help run more smoothly as you pay then go to another window to have your order made with whichever toppings you would like. Definitely a cute spot worth giving a visit to! read more
Wow, it was like yesterday this place was a bakery now it's a whole taco spot. Reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the ambience and service. It really reminds me of el gordos, San Diego tacos type of vibe. I love their set up, the painting on the walls is beautiful. I ordered their asada, adobada, chicharron and cabeza followed by a mango passion fruit Fresca. The taco I enjoyed the most was the cabeza then the asada. The rest weren't it to me. This place has potential and the staff is really nice! The person making our tacos actually hooked us up with a carnitas tacos which was ok tasting but the kind gesture made up for it. Tbh the tacos are okay, I've had plenty of taco trucks in the east side with hand made tortillas and spicier/flavorful salsa choices. The mango passion drink was soooo good though! There was a couple of flies in this nice restaurant which was kinda annoying. The line literally goes out the door but moves really fast. You need to order then wait in another line to give them your ticket and they prepare you tacos in front of you. Grab a tray if you plan to eat there, tables clear quickly. read more
Felt this place was just okay. First, the decor is carried over from the two precious tenants. Doesn't seem to really fit decorum wise (velvetgreen/gold chairs, crystal chandeliers, trees) for for the layout. Arrived at 730pm and the line was all the way to the door and we were just inside the door. I heard a staff member tell some people in front of us that it takes an hour from where we were standing by the time you get your food after standing in a second line. Not true. It took us 15 minutes to get through the first line just to order. The second line maybe about 5 minutes. We were done eating and ready to leave at 8pm. With that being said, I didn't care for the flow of standing in a long line to order, then standing in another line to tell the food preparers how you want yout tacos/burritos, etc. There were many flies on or behind the plastic that hangs down where they make your food. The dining area was filthy. The staff was nice, but the girl taking our order was completely checked out and not paying attention to us nor was she helpful. While she was attempting to finish our order for payment, I had to ask if I could order a drink. I got the cucumber lime fresca, which was good. However, I probably would have ordered another flavor if they were not out. I got the Pollo asida burrito which wasn't anything special. I did utilize the salsa bar and added Verde salsa and squeezed some limes which helped make the burrito more flavorful. My boyfriend got a steak taco and a couple of chicken tacos minus the guacamole. He thought they were tasty. Not sure if I'll be back. The food was just okay in my opinion and I dont want to wait in two lines for my food. Hopefully this place will do well because nothing else has in this storefront in this shopping center. read more

There was alot of hype for this taco place , I got my partner and my son and told them we were having tacos for dinner!! We drove 30 minutes , We ordered just tacos de asada, birria, adobada, carnitas , cabeza, n papas de soyricho !!! The only ones I thought had good flavor were the asada , my son liked the birria I personally think the seasoning isnt there , it was just too much overlad in guach that wasnt flavorable. They didnt have that Mmmm I will come back for tacos!! The aguas on the other hand were very good not too sweet just right!! I ordered the pina and lemonade!!!The service was good they were hustling cleaning tables girls taking orders were friendly . The line was long too order the tacos and then u had to get in another line to get your tacos which was running slow !! They do need to work on simplifying what tacos are being ordered so the personal making the tacos has a more easier way to look at what tacos he needs too make ,by the time my order was done some were getting cold waiting!!! I did order 15 tacos just because it was not going to be easy to make a quick order again!!It was too crowded for me, we had too be looking for people too leave to snatch a place to sit and eat!! Feel like overall flavor in the tacos wasnt there!! So i dont think we will be back !! read more

These were the blandest, greasiest tacos I've ever had. The carnitas were dripping with oil & tasted like nothing. The adobada had flavor but had chunks of straight fat. The carne asada was meh at best. I don't think I've ever not finished a street taco before, but I couldn't stomach it after trying multiple bites of each. I was so excited about the guacamole & it just tasted like puréed avocado with no seasoning. I went to the movies hungry instead of finishing this mess. Skip this place and go to the taco truck across the street by Walmart! read more
