This taco truck was so good! The fish tacos were amazing! The sauce on top with the slaw was crunchy and bright, it really brought out the fish flavor. The fries were hot and packed full of flavor with an amazing cheese crust melted on top. I came here on a whim as it was the closest taco truck/stand to where I was when I needed food. I'm so glad I did. I was beyond impressed after having so many lackluster taco experiences in Fresno and not expecting much. The price seemed a little high, but then the tacos come out overloaded with meat and toppings. My only wish is that they had more meat options. That said, I think it's enough. While I'd love to see them branch out in that regard, it's hard to say they're doing anything wrong. The rice and beans were on point, and that's always a big deal to me. There was so much overflow from my tacos that I mixed in with the beans and rice for a delish dessert. I tried the fried shrimp taco, and the asada and adobada tacos. They were all great. Yum! Central Valley Mexican food always hits and this place is no exception. I found them on TikTok and was happy to see they had pescatarian options! We had a huge order but i only took a picture of my food. We got tacos, burritos, nachos, and my order of fries. Everyone had good things to say, the carne asada especially and the sauces were amazing! However, there were some things I would like to see in the future such as drinks on the menu (Horchata, Frescas, or Soda) Also, the fried fish ratio was more dough than fish at times. And salsa should not be $1 extra per sauce, that is a bit steep considering the portion sizes are pretty big. Of course these are all personal preferences, again the food itself was amazing. The adobada tacos were delicious and we like that they put beans in it. Like that it was next to the gas station so I could grab drinks while I waited. I had the pleasure to try their food at their food truck, but after hearing they have an establishment open, I had to come check it out. The order: 3 carne asada tacos, shrimp tacos, and carne asada fries I carne asada tacos were delicious, small little bits size meat and topped with a generous amount of cabbage on top with some cilantro. It comes with one slice of lemon. Can't go wrong with some asada tacos! The shrimp tacos were fabulous , correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe their taco won Taco Throwdown one year. Anywho, really nice size shrimp that has been battered up and fried. It's topped with some purple cabbage, tomato, onions, and cilantro, drizzled with a house sauce. So refreshing and a good! The asada fries was generous, no messy order here. They placed it nicely and topped it beautifully with some cheese, asada, sour cream, and sided with some jalapeño and pico de gallo. The asada fries were not overly greasy which I like. There are some places that has grease sitting on the bottom and you just feel kinda yuck about it. This order was to-go everything was packed nicely. I wished I had more sauces on the side because they were good! Another thing we wished is have a number to call on Yelp for to-go orders. I love Taco Pinto - I eat there on a near weekly basis - but the burrito I got recently was an absolute mess. The tortilla was torn when I opened it and the sides did not even meet in the middle. I didn't have a chance. It was like a salad. Ingredients were great as always - hence the 3 stars, 5 for ingredients, 1 for presentation - but the whole purpose of getting a burrito was defeated before I'd even taken a bite. Ordered the Adobada Burrito (comes with rice, beans, adobada, pico de gallo, sour cream, and cheese) and the Asada Burrito (same except asada). THEIR SAUCES ARE *chef's kiss*! I always order the roasted tomato salsa, avocado salsa, and cilantro lime sauce. They have 2 other sauces available for a total of 5 to choose from. Pinto sauce and I forget the last one. Mix the roasted tomato salsa and the cilantro lime salsa together and OMG it's AMAZING! Or mix the roasted with the avocado. PARKING SITUATION: They park in a small gas station lot. Can be cramped when it's busy. Be mindful of that. My estimate is it can park about 10-12 vehicles behind the gas station. 5-stars for a taco cart in a gas station parking lot?! Fugg yeah! I was getting gas, starving and short on time. As I walked around the corner to pay for the gas, BOOM a taco truck just sitting there like an oasis in the desert, calling my name. I walked over and examined the menu, all the basics were here; burritos, tacos, nachos, and even carne asada fries! Thinking the tacos would more "street size" I went with three tacos; grilled fish, grilled shrimp and a fried fish taco. Not street sized... these tacos are huge and all tasted amazing! My fave was the grilled fish taco with surprisingly the fried fish being my least favorite. Still good, but not my top taco. The tacos are loaded with tons toppings and all come with two tortillas for those power bites. They also have three styles of salsa; green, red, and habanero. The green was delicious and totally drinkable! If I were staying in Fresno for a little longer I would probably stop by here one more time for those carne asada fries. Anywho this place is located off Shaw and West...honestly they could not have picked a better spot as they are by Kiwert Gas Station and across the street from Dutch bros! Definitely a money maker spot as each business is thriving as people who get gas can grab delicious food and peeps who want something to drink can get something in the liquor store to complement the food so it's a win-win for everyone. We ordered our food. I got a shrimp taco and the boyfriend got pork fries. The food over all was mediocre nothing special but I give this place an automatic 4 stars as they have barely been open less than 5 months!!! Which is so impressive! I have a lot of respect for this taco truck as they are so making a name for themselves and smart move of going to the Taco Truck Throwdown. I would definitely stop by and check out this taco truck. The meats here are freshly prepared and cooked on a grill which makes a huge difference compared to just a flat iron. The service they provided was fast and friendly and you can tell they are proud in serving the community. This truck is located on the lot of the gas station and it's a narrow fit parking in the back. Yeah, it's 'dumpy' because there IS a dumpster back there and I was so hungry, that's right where I parked and ate. After all, why let time and distance, nay, ANYTHING, hinder the time from when the food placed on the stainless steel ledge to the time it takes to get that food into my mouth? Nothing! I soon discovered that the spot where I had parked was 'The pissing place' and ignored folks walking 3 feet from me to piss on the dumpster there while I was eating in the car. lol The only question that came into my mind was, 'Will nothing EVER deaden this appetite??' lol apparently not! Very tasty bomb pockets of yum. Packed with good, perfectly seasoned meats, fiber, texture form all the layers and mastered in flavors. 3$ish a pop does NOT seem expensive for what you're getting. And those salsas! You're in for a treat, 3 types to choose from, avocado salsa, mild which I love and has a smokey flavor and hot, which I have not tasted. I REALLY appreciated that none were too salty. Sometimes you wonder if anyone actually 'tastes along the way' or if they simply have a damaged hypothalamus.
