A little heavy-handed on the rice on the carne asada burrito - I'd asked them to take it easy - but that's just because they give a lot, not to skimp on the meat or anything like that. We came here on a week night and there were a trickle of other customers and to-go orders. We ordered the fish plate and the enchiladas. My partner also ordered a beer. In total we paid over $40, which is on the pricier side. My partner thought the enchiladas were just okay. But he felt like his plate was small for the price. I thought the fish was a little odd because it was breaded but the description in the menu did not mention it was breaded. It was nice that they had a la carte items available and so I ordered two chicken taquitos. It came with guacamole and some salad but the taquito itself was bland with not too much flavor. The asada burritos here are pretty coo solid flavor and hits the spot when you're craving something filling. I tried the breakfast burrito with sausage, and honestly, I wasn't feelin' the sausage. Next time I'm definitely going to try it with asada instead. Their sopes are good too, but the masa tastes more on the store-bought side than fresh-made. Not a deal-breaker, just something I noticed. Overall, I'd give Don's Salsas a 6.5/10. There's potential, and I'll be back to try more especially that breakfast burrito with asada. read more

The food in my opinion here is Good, love the flavors and the portion size is Decent for what you pay for! The inside of the store is nice, a lot of seating and temperature controlled! The service could use work, and that's being polite about it. The woman that runs the register and brings out the food... not my favorite. I enjoy the food and would come here often for chilaquiles or breakfast burritos but when she brings the food out, it's almost like she hates her job. I just found this Mexican restaurant through Yelp. The food is very delicious and authentic. I have been there 3 times in one week while in town helping my father. I've tried the chili verde, green salsa enchiladas and tacos. I recommend this restaurant! It's very clean inside and looks like the building has been remodeled. Had burrito supreme the fanciest burrito. Chose the Rib Eye steak filling which is supposedly a higher grade beef. When I got the bill it was a little over $17 which surprised me because the lady taking my order didn't mention that there was an extra charge for the rib eye steak. But I was willing to pay to try the rib eye. When I got the burrito, I felt it was small for the price. Went here with my wife for brunch after she suggested I might be hungry for a breakfast burrito. It was one of the best I've had in a really long time, and certainly the best from anywhere I've had over other local chains. They have an insanely big menu (octopus in "The Whale Burrito"?!), bottled beers and glass bottle Coca-Cola. We had a whole tray of different hot sauces and napkins brought with our food as well. My son Jiovanni loves the asada fries and horchata from Don Salsa's. This is his go to place. The owner and his wife are very nice. The restaurant is nice and clean. They have great customer service always interacting with our customers. Their food is good. The prices are a bit high, the only thing I would say is there go to plate sometimes are on the skimpy side. I think it just depends on who makes your plate. I've gone there and my plate has been packed and then other times it's not. But overall, I do recommend the place for a quick bite to eat there are also fast in serving. read more

I ordered delivery this morning. I got the chilaquiles breakfast. I added some chili verde. It was absolutely delicious. Cooked my eggs exactly how I requested. The potatoes were wonderfully seasoned. Meat was not overly tender but not hammered either and had a great taste. Chips just the right amount of sogginess. Onions grilled just right. Avocados on top added a nice brightness to everything. I asked for red salsa on the side and they generously sent red and green. I also got a napkin and utensils I didn't even request. Wish I had gotten more beans. They were perfect. Generous amount of food overall. I'm looking forward to eating the leftovers later. So nice when a restaurant treats your delivery order like you are a dine in customer. Super impressed . read more

There's nothing fancy about this place, but it is pretty clean, with good service, and pretty good food. I wasn't sure what to order, because I wasn't too hungry. So I ordered a carne asada "wet" burrito, with red sauce, no sour creme, and a soda. My burrito came in good time, and a pleasant smile on the girl; she was nice. But when it came, I noticed it had sour creme drizzled on top.. Also another thing I wasn't expecting- my burrito was full of beans and rice. NOT what I wanted.. but I figured it was a Fresno thing. That's not how we get down in San Diego, unless u ask for it. The young lady did ask me "with rice and beans?", but I thought she meant as a plate, not inside. Oh well. I can't believe Don Salsa's has been in this spot on Olive Ave. for a few years and I've never heard or noticed it. Well, apparently I decided to make up for lost time; I stopped by three times in a week. So, thank you to my Yelper friend Sisomvang for bringing this business to my attention! First thing I noticed is the cleanliness of the place, dining and behind the counter. There is not much decor but plenty of tables. When I've stopped at lunch, there is a good crowd and steady to go orders. There is a bit of a wait but when you get your food, you know it's because it was freshly made. Service is friendly and down to business lol In the morning there seems to be one man running the show and then in the afternoon a small crew of 2-3 comes on for the busier crowd. On to the food. Twice I've stopped by on my way to work for a breakfast burrito. They are big. There are several burrito options to suit your preference. I didn't care for the chorizo burrito, only because I didn't think to ask for no cheese (there was a lot) and the chorizo was that meaty kind I don't care for. I am totally in the minority on this, I know. We've ordered the cheese enchiladas a couple times, very good. Also, I really liked the Sope with carnitas. Their sopes appear handmade and a large size, so yum. My husband and son keep getting burritos but I think those are boring here - they have so many other better dishes. Like the shrimp fajita plate. Although I did try a breakfast burrito with bacon and *that* was a really good one. And I remembered to ask for no cheese. My last comment is that, here, I prefer items a La carte - they are delicious on their own - the rice and beans just didn't add anything for me. I was torn between leaving 4 instead of 5 stars because I didn't care for the chorizo or the rice or the beans on the combo plates - but, that's just a personal preference thing, not anything they did wrong or badly so I went with 5. So tonight was my first time here. I can't believe they have been open for 3 years and only have 45 yelp reviews. Funny story is, my husband whom all my yelper friends know, but he really doesn't yelp, ordered chile verde nachos and couldn't finish it. I was hungry, found it in the fridge, warmed it up and ate it. It was so good, even after being in the fridge for a few hours. I've been thinking about them ever since. Location- They're in tower district, but not in the heart of it. They are located right before the Olive dmv. I'm actually surprised my fellow yelper, Rita has not yelped here because I follow her for everything downtown and tower. They are right across the street from Let's Roll Fresno. Atmosphere- Parking is weird, they have a small back parking lot and you would have to park in the neighborhood. I'm glad I went on a slow night. Upon entering, the restaurant was simple, clean and immaculate. They're 5 Guys level clean. I actually felt bad for dropping some rice on the floor. 2 enchilada with rice beans and salad plate- Rice- It was good. My dear friend Lydia who passed away in 2017 always wanted to teach me to make Mexican rice, this rice tastes like hers. Beans- Good. Very smooth, has cheese on top. Enchiladas- The flour & cheese for the Enchiladas were the best part of it. The carnitas in it were okay, it was a little dry in some parts. It also didn't have enough sauce on top for me. It was sitting on the sauce and when I think enchiladas, I think of them sitting in sauce on not just on it. My husband orders their carnitas torta on Doordash all the time and it is always so juicy. Salad- shredded lettuce with pico on top was a nice touch. Would I return?- absolutely, there's so much I want to try, including their fully dresses beers. read more

Hard to judge this place since the 2 times I've ordered delivery through uber eats, the food is always cold...not sure if it's the restaurant or not because every other place always comes hot. The cheese is never melted in the burrito so I don't know. As far as flavor..the food is good where I'd normally rate it a 4. The reason for 3 stars is because they NEVER pay attention to their orders. They ask what kind of salsa you want on the side but they always forget to even give me any. We ordered a breakfast burrito, carnitas taco, asada burrito and a churro. The carnitas taco was really good and juicy. My boyfriend really enjoyed his breakfast burrito and churro. I however did not like my asada burrito. The asada was not good very dry, and very salty. I would for sure come back but just avoid asada. It was delivered via doordash so I have nothing to say about the place itself. Update: 7 hours later and I am having issues with my stomach and it's the only thing I ate. Shrimp ceviche and 1 chicken burrito with no sour cream and in it and hot sauce on the side ordered. The worker was kind. I went in to get it. The order was ready. It's clean and safe. Pretty open. They have outside seating also. I paid for the order, asked for extra hot sauce and he got that no problem. Handed over the order along with good day wishes! Everything split. First time going to eat the day before I was scoping restaurants that had posole and Mexican food menu items, this place was new to me and decided to try it this morning. Inside restaurant was really clean and I noticed a lot door dash orders a lot like every couple mins they would come in and out and menu was nicely organized. Tried their breakfast burrito a few weeks ago (which was no disappointment!) so I came back to try the lunch/dinner menu. Also, not disappointed! Everything was very tasty, great flavor. It's now one of my new go-to spots. It's is as good as it looks IMO. If you don't like spicy salsa, ask for the salsa that comes with an order of the chips/salsa. That salsa alone had me come back. They charge $1.40 for each container of it but it's worth it! They have free salsas (green and red) but this one is the best to me (I don't like spicy). read more
