In town for Oyster bake and wanted some seafood nearby so decided to check this place. Instead of just chips and salsa they give you a small ceviche too! It was delicious. I pick Mexican restaurants that are in dominantly Mexican areas by the site of the parking lot. Empty parking lot means the locals don't eat there. Pass on it. Good amount of cars in the lot means good food. Makes sense right? Well, nah. Not this time. I got the breaded shrimp and fries. Something I can eat while driving. No flavor in the batter. We dined during the week close to 5pm. There were plenty of tables available. We were seated promptly. The ambiance is relaxing with pleasant Spanish music in the background playing, not too loud. Tostadas and ceviche were brought immediately, as well as the drinks. We ordered Coctel de Cameron and fish tacos. Everything was good. I was just not impressed. The prices are a bit steep, though. 4/23 - This place is on my list every time I go see my friend at St. Mary's or in the area. Finally got to eat here for lunch and it lived up to the hype. Not very crowded when we got there, but became busier. All the food looked good at the tables, but we were there for the Molcajete Cora. There is some fried corn tortillas, Ceviche mix, and green salsa. This was a great start to the meal with a green salsa that had some kick. The Molcajete Cora comes with Shrimp, octopus, mussels, crab legs, fish, abulone and chopped clams in a sauce that slowly grows to a perfect spice burn. I used the corn tortillas to soak up this great stew. It is a fair amount of food for one person and a good shareable plate for seafood lovers. I'm not going to lie, I had always like las Islas Maria's. Their mojarra is the best. We ordered take out and I felt like I wanted Caldo so I ordered shrimp soup. I ordered without the peel to make sure the shrimp was cleaned/deveined. At first I thought it was, then I started finding more and more that were not. About half of the shrimp was not deveined yuk. It seems like a poor attempt at cleaning it .Definitely puts their care and cleanliness into question. I am not trusting their ceviche now. read more

My mouth is still salivating thinking about eating here. We came with a group of four and there was about a 15 minute wait. We were seated and brought out some tostadas, limes, salsas, and complimentary ceviche! It was very fresh and not fishy tasting- very good. Our group decided to get the cerveza preparadas with six tecates garnished with shrimp, cucumbers, chamoy, lime, etc. we originally thought it was a little pricy at $45 but omg its a bargain! It comes served on a huge platter with seafood on it including crab and octopus. It's drinks and an appetizer. My husband and i split the paella and half a dozen oysters. The oysters were fresh and just what you would expect. The paella was delicious. Maybe a tad bit salty, but the beer helped with that. Nope! I ordered a cantarito that was delicious. I also ordered the stuffed lobster and I highly recommend to steer away from that, the lobster tail came out translucent and I did question it and they did fix it but my stomach felt bubbly soon after I finished my meal. I'm wondering if it's a combination of the cantarito with the lobster. My child ordered cheese sticks, sadly no ranch. My child also ordered a limeade and didn't like the flavor but the day before she drank one from a different place and even ordered a second. I like the location and the parking lot. read more

The place was packed. Some people were being over served alchohol even with a sign saying they would not. The plates were small. Our plate was missing the shrimp so they brought it out late and it was burnt. Management did not seem to care about the service. The food did not have much taste and it was over priced. Ooooooh man! Went and got their chipotle check. Sooo damn good. Added a side salad for a dollar or so. It was big. Chicken came with rice and veggies and the chipotle sauce was amazeballs. The service is good that's why I was able to give it 2 stars, but the food deserved 1 or no stars. The guac we ordered looked fresh but once you taste it there was a sour taste to it. Not sure if they added sour cream to it or something else but definitely was Not just avocados in it. The lemonades we ordered were said to have been made from fresh lemons but once we tasted them, the drink tasted old and fermented. Definitely not fresh. The customer service was ok.... The food in the other hand was not good. It got 3 of us sick out of 6 of us. The cups were dirty and not washed properly. The shrimp on the cocktail was sour. We sent it back. The carne asada meat was some other cut of meat. Did not look like carne asada. The fajita plate tasted sour as well. The paella Del Mar was ok. I always eat all my food but something about this dish tasted funky so I didn't eat but maybe half the food. I am glad I only ate half cuz for the next 20 hrs I was stuck going to the toilet. The drink was ok. We will not be eating here again.... We have been to the sister location and had a great time and enjoyed the food. This location for some reason failed us. I have to say the drinks are to die for and the sauces they serve while you wait for the to take your order are amazing. Prices are up there but worth every penny. We actually only came for drinks so we had appetizers and had ceviche and empanadas de camaron but wow they are so delicious not to mention the chipotle they do is very good. Next time I'm bringing the hubby but only when I'm hungry so he can pay do everything jk. He will love this place. The tostadas are so good with the ceviche and that green sauce with lime juice is super spicy but good. The other one is milder. The empanadas are made of shrimp and are delicious and not greasy at all you dip them in the chipotle sauce they come with. So happy they made a new location this side of town. This is by far the best place for Mexican seafood! We came on a weekday and the place was packed! The minute you walk in you won't feel like your in the USA anymore toto, your in Mexico! I really like the authenticity of this place. They use real molcajetes imported from Mexico, real sauce from Nayarit, Mexico and fresh ingredients. Although the mass about of people eating here speak Spanish, the wait staff is bilingual. (Luckily for me, Mi español es muy malo ) When you sit down your greeted with free fish ceviche and tostadas and they will bring you more if you ask! Some must orders are the mussels! They are baked with just the right about of spice and before you know it you've eaten the entire plate! If your a big fan of soups (like me) be sure to try the 7 mares sopa. The broth has amazing flavors and accompanies the seafood. Inside the soup you'll find: crab, mussels, oysters, fish, tuna, lobster, and shrimp. Another great dish for sharing at your table is the executive ceviche. It has generous portions of octopus, shrimp , and huge chucks of abalone This one packs a big spicy kick! Sorry, but it's time for me to speak up. I cannot stay quiet anymore, so this is one of my best favorite places to come for the paella. It's the ONLY thing I eat there ! Or call it in for pick up... but please wow staff can be something else. Yes, I'm speaking about the staff it seems that They are very well trained to argue with you till the end they! It's they are correct they will not give in ! if they see their own mistakes in their face just like right now I walked out and left there nasty food ‍I asked specifically for certain way to be served as well in my plate and what happens i was given exactly what I asked not too !yet I got blamed it was me. I asked her specifically about 3 x no aluminum foil what happens I get the pate to go instead and yes Edith aluminum foil lmao!! last I remember I was eating there not taking it what happened? They brought it to me in a to go plate with an aluminum foil . There she did admit it was a mistake.. let me back up a bit I asked before I ordered what type of shrimp were they using because I love the fresh out of the sea shrimp not the ugly frozen already peeled and deveined and taste like freezer burnt ! , . Even pointed out what shrimp I wanted bc they did have the fresh one I wanted so I get my plate so I got my plate guess what shrimp it was yup the one I DID NOT WANT the one that was already peeled Jesus Christ and still she argued with me till the end that that's what I had chosen really ‍‍also the paella comes with corn in the rice that's not an ingredient it never has been till now .. I was told now there's a new recipe OK so if there's new recipe with new ingredients, so why don't they update their menu? because some of us do not like or may be allergic to corn, but again, but again they are well trained with the slogan it's gonna come out of your pocket kinda way ‍to argue with you. last might say I understand her I see staff eating straight out a huge hamburger bigger than her face with one hand holding it and the other taking out plates for the waitresses to take to tables This was too funny ‍but then again, I may understand why rather a burger and not there Big selection of menu ps. Never again oh wait there's more so I asked the waitress about that new parking attendant outside and tipping she said they don't work Or tips that they get a salary or an hourly salary so as I leave when I walked out, I'm reversing, and I see this parking attendant at my window knocking asking for tip. This place is really good! The menu has quite a few selections to pick from and the staff is always friendly. The ceviche is always too much for me to finish but still so tasty. I would try the agua mineral preparada, if you like cucumbers in your water. Overall, good service, good food, and good environment! read more

Just look at their health scores and that by itself will give you an idea of my one star rating. If inspectors would do an evening inspection they would more likely than not, shut the place down. Restaurant owners should have one important credo... if you wouldn't feed it to your kids, don't feed it to your customers! Just walking up to this place you get a nauseous smell emanating from the whole property. It's not the dumpster, it smells like an open sewer. That is a very distinct possibility given their health inspectors notes on violations. Omg I don't know how these people stay in business ‍.
