    Shrimp from Las Gringas
    Bruce K.

We caught up with Las Gringas at Deep River Brewing in Clayton. Super friendly and funny guy taking orders. Not a tremendous amount of keto-friendly options here, but that's to be expected with tacos and tortillas. I made the best option and chose a plate that was basically battered and fried shrimp in a spicy sauce. Since I was already off keto for the night, this wasn't too bad. The shrimp were delicious and just a little bit spicy. My friend had a chicken burrito and declared it delicious. Good stuff! I'd choose from these folks again! [Review 11823 overall, 1605 of 2019.]

Taco plate, very bland, under cooked rice. Nachos, more like a salad, no cheese and very soupy. They did give us a lemon wedge!!!! $33.00 save your money.

What a delicious taco truck! They came to our office for lunch, and my coworkers and I all got several items off the menu. I like how straight-forward their menu is: Tacos, Burritos, Nachos, or the Las Gringas -- can add rice or beans. The Las Gringas was a half-quesadilla type item, and it's recommended with the Al Pastor pork meat filling. I'll say, I got the Nacho Borracho with Al Pastor and it was incredible! First of all it, was massive! But second: many of the taco tracks around here are incredibly bland and taste like I slapped something together out of my fridge. Not this place! The meat was super flavorful, as were the pico de gallo and the black beans! It was a beautiful sight, and blended together really well. I also recommend getting the salsa verde on the side, it kicked the nachos up even more! It's a good-looking truck with friendly service, and like all Mexican food, came out super prompt. Looking forward to them coming back!

Marco and his crew brought their food truck to my office building last week. The service was great as Marco was very personable and friendly. He took the orders and the ladies inside prepped and packaged the meals for pickup at the next window. I ordered the nachos con carnitas (pork). Marco told me the pork was an excellent choice and although I didn't try any other meat, he was right. I was surprised at how good they tasted. The pork and chipotle sauce were awesome but the stars of the meal were the chips. You could definitely taste how fresh they and that they were homemade. I'll definitely try them again

The not so great chips with quest.

I tried Las Gringas last night for the first time and thought that it was a good value for the price. Both my husband and I tried the pastor meat and it was seasoned very well and really flavorful. He had a burrito and I had the gringa and both were HUGE. For $9-10 there is enough food to feed two people. While I was really impressed with the main dishes, the sides were not as good. We had the chips con queso and they were basically the same chips covered in cheese wiz that you would get from a gas station. Next time I visit I will skip the sides and just stick with the main plates because that's really all you need with the amount of food you get.

Tried this food truck when they were at Oak City Brewing. I ordered the rice bowl with no rice which threw them for only a moment, but they quickly recovered and offered beans as a substitute. The food was great, the meat very tender, and the portion was huge! My husband said the tacos were ok, but he finished my food and really enjoyed it. Would definitely eat again.

The tacos were the best tacos I've ever had at a food truck. And the people were phenomenal.

The menu is pork-centric, featuring several varieties of thinly pounded pork chops. Tried 2 of them. The first is a char grilled boneless pork chop, topped with pickled peppers, arugula. It's served on ciabatta bread, slathered with a sambal-based aioli. The meat is tender and moist, the aioli just spicy enough to stimulate the taste buds. The second is Korean-marinated pork, topped with pickled carrots, Korean radish & cilantro. The marinate adds a touch of sweetness, which contrasts beautifully with the tangy pickled carrots and tart radish. Shout out to the arancini (deep fried risotto balls). Golfball sized dollops of soft, creamy, cheesy risotto are breaded and deep friend golden brown. Crunchy outside, succulent on the inside, 4 to the serving. Yum! A variety of delicious and unique offerings. Check out this food truck when you see them. Good stuff!

My husband and I split the Korean pork sandwich, roasted pork with eggplant sandwich, arancini (with mushrooms) and fried taties (no pork added). The food was good, our favorites were the arancini and pork sandwich with eggplant. Check them out if you are at a brewery that they coming to.

Food Truck Time: Bam Pow Chow @ the Railhawks game…read more I was super excited to try Bam Pow Chow because the menu looked very appetizing. I ordered the Fried Red Tomato Sliders with an avocado sauce and corn relish. This came with 2 sliders for $7, you can add an order of french fries for an additional $2 (if you love waffle fries then you will definitely want to do this). The food tasted great, I would recommend this food truck.

We caught up with Bam Pow Chow and chef Marshall Smith at Compass Rose. The menu had four entrees; Angus beef sliders with grilled Provolone, and chimichurri, pulled pork sliders with tangy apples and scallions, the Big Fish sandwich with a lemon dill ranch and cucumbers and fried red tomato sliders with corn relish and avocado sauce. Sides are separate and options include French fries, corn fritters, mac & cheese with bacon, and onion rings. First off, the menu is well priced and the portions are generous. We ordered the Big Fish sandwich and the Angus sliders, and for sides, the corn fritters, French fries and mac & cheese with bacon. The Big Fish sandwich is a large deep fried filet resting on two slider buns. The deep fry reminds me of fish & chips takeaway in the UK, it's crispy and flavorful, but with cucumber slices and dill ranch. The Angus sliders are topped with chimichurri, cooked really well and full of flavor. They were actually described by my daughter as "incredible." The slider buns are worth mentioning. Not run-of-the-mill buns, they are elevated and worth the carbs. The sides are stars too. The French fries are a mix of white potato and sweet potato, fried crispy and dusted with we guess to be garlic and Parmesan(?). The corn fritters...I hesitated ordering them because if fritters are dry, they're terrible. These were the exact opposite of dry. The corn fritters are moist and cake like, and they were served with a spicy mayo for dipping. Finally, the mac & cheese with bacon. This side is more than a side, and the chopped, fresh bacon crowning it takes it to another level. Overall, we enjoyed every bite. High marks from my crew. We can't wait to see how Bam Pow Chow evolves with Smith at the helm. Don't miss out.
