    Waiting for my food!
    Lindsay S.

Bam Pow Chow, I'm in #Foodie Heaven thanks to the Food Truck Rodeo here at my office park today! I was one of the first in line and boy was I pleased with my choice. 3 tacos for $9. The tacos are served in these little crispy crust tortillas. Lightly greasy considering they'd been fried, but honestly not overdone at all. There are four kinds of tacos, including the summer veggie, but here is what I got: 1. Beef & Bacon w/ Smoked Tomato Dressing, Napa Cabbage & Scallions (Hold the scallions for me please.) The tomato dressing was terrific on top -- I'm not a tomato person. 2. Pulled Pork w/ Apple Jicama Slaw -- perfect combination. The slaw complicated the pork perfectly! 3. Shrimp Ceviche w/ Baby Veggies, Avocado, Cilantro & Scallions. I forgot to ask to hold the scallions, but it was another sweet combination. The shrimp was flavorful with an awesome compliment by that avocado drizzle. I really wanted to try the Duck Spring roll from their online menu, but they didn't have it with them today. I perused the online menu before headed down to the courtyard parking lot area where the trucks were and was pleased to see that the line was moving quickly. After asking about the tomato sauce, I learned that it was a husband, wife, and daughter running the show together. Really cool. What made the experience ever sweeter? My Coca Cola said "Superstar" on it. Oh, yes. Thank you.

    Da truck.

Bam Pow WOW! BPC hit the spot recently when we ran into them at Beericana in Holly Springs. Not only have they come HIGHLY recommended by several of our favorite Yelper friends, but Lindy P. and Sara B. couldn't stop raving about the NY strip sliders topped with an incredible chimichurri sauce; with the visual food-porn they described, we couldn't pass on the opportunity to partake. My tastebuds tingled with the cilantro, shallot, red pepper goodness that is chimichurri sauce, and the provolone topping an incredibly tender NY Strip slider was perfection. $10 for two good-sized sliders were easily split between two, and you can pay an additional $2 for a large helping of hot-out-of-the-fryer french fries. I highly recommend seeking this truck out, they pack a bold punch of flavor and won't leave you disappointed.

Beer-battered, deep-fried hot dog with cheese, avocado, pico de gallo, and Sriracha on a toasted bun. $7

When I was the "Beer Battered Deep Fried Hot Dog" on the menu, I knew I HAD to order it. Crunchy, juicy, fried goodness. A layer of melted, shredded cheese, shredded napa cabbage, bacon bits, sliced chives, and a dual drizzle of avocado cream sauce + Sriracha? I was sold. I also tried my FIRST cronut! The dessert (tower) consisted of two cronuts with fluffy chocolate mousse on the top and bottom, surrounded by whipped cream, drizzled fudge sauce, and a strawberry on top. Mmmm.... The cronut itself was light and air-pockety. The layers reminded me of filo dough and didn't have much flavor. The sweetness radiated from the toppings and mousse. Guaranteed to give you a sugar-high! I really wanted to try out the rabbit spring rolls, but I was disappointed to not find them on their truck menu... I guess they are a seasonal offering?

I finally got to try Bam Pow Chow. I have been wanting to try some of their innovative tacos for awhile now. They serve some amazing food like tacos (out of this world good), soup, fries, cronuts, and drinks. My husband and I tried 3 tacos, fries, and there apple crack cronut. The tacos were amazing. They are made with wonton shells which we loved. Very light and have a perfect crunch with every bite. We had beef and bacon with smoked tomato dressing, napa cabbage and scallions. Delish! Pulled pork with apple jicama slaw, and cold smoked local catfish with cucumber kimchee and scallions. The catfish taco was my favorite although all were great. The fries were amazing as well topped with beef gravy and aged cheddar. I'm drooling a bit just thinking about them. I never had a cronut before until I tried there "Apple Crack." Oh my it was heavenly. A cronut is croissant-doughnut pastry. To me it almost looked like two donuts tasting similar to fried dough topped with apples with cinnamon sugar, maple, and walnuts. Every bite was amazing. We found Bam Pow Chow at Raleigh Brewery but they are a food truck and travel so make sure to check out their website so you can find them and grab a delicious taco of your own.

Tacos and the chocolate mousse cronut

Bam Pow Chow came to our workplace and we were all super excited to try these crazy looking cronut creations. So not only did I get three tacos, but I got a huge sweet dessert too. But I just had to. Really. So imagine how disappointed I was when it was not anything like a cronut at all! It ended up being more like a super flaky puff pastry. That's it. Very dry too. Just kept crumbling whenever you tried to bite it. The whipped cream and chocolate drizzle was nice thought. But I wouldn't get it again.. I did enjoy my tacos though. I had the shrimp, pork, and beef I think. The shrimp ceviche taco was delicious! Great food, super fast, but skip the 'cronut'.

I constantly search for this food truck to try and eat it's sliders as often as I can. Get the chimichurri flank steak sliders. They are absolutely delicious. If you don't want that, you won't be disappointed by their other options: pulled pork slider was outstanding and even the hot dog was, while unconventional, perfectly balanced. Delicious. One of the best food trucks I've ever tasted in NC!

    Big fish sandwich
    Sean L.

I ordered the Big Fish Sandwich and thought it was very tasty. The fish was a very big piece of what tasted like fried cod. I really enjoyed the sliced dill and spinach which contrasted with the flaky crispy fish texture. My only minor complaint is that I thought the bread bun was not big or sturdy enough to hold the sandwich together. The sandwich fell apart into its separate pieces half way through. Overall, I was impressed with Bam Pow Chow and would love to try the other items on their menu sometime.

Loved this food truck. The big fish sandwich was delish! And my husband had the flank steak slider with chimichurri and provolone, which he loved. Good food, good service. They do catering too, which I'm considering for an upcoming event, as I think they have something for most tastes.

Dear Bam Pow Chow, I am writing to express my love for you and your tacos and I have realized I can no longer live without you. Just shy of quitting my job and leaving my husband I want to start a committed relationship. Sure you will serve others and I won't lie, I will eat elsewhere but you will remain my one true love. Sincerely, Lisa Ok in all seriousness these people are serving up some tacos that I am day dreaming about. I am going online and marking my calendar, counting down the days until my path crosses them again. Also wondering why they don't come to Durham more! What I know about them is they serve small, maybe 4 bite size tacos. These crispy spring roll wrapper triangles are filled with delicious meats, fresh toppings and drizzled with the right amount of sauce that brings everything together. 1 for $3.50 or 3 for $9. When you see the size and think about what you just paid you might question your decision but after the first bite you will understand young grasshopper. I have tried them twice now at the most recent Durham Food Truck Rodeo's and after checking them out online it looks like I will need to frequent Lonerider, White St. and Fortnight to find them. There menu is small, when I had them this past weekend they only had two types of tacos while the first time they had 4. Now I don't want to hype these people up anymore then I have already but do yourself a favor.... Go to them and eat their taco's.... your welcome.

I went to this food truck on a whim and ended up having some amazing steak sliders. The employees had a great personality and were adventurous and asked me try a mixture of spicy mayo and eel sauce(sorry can't remember the actual name for it) for my fries and it was amazing! I will definitely be returning.

Kalua Pork with House Dressed Apple minus the scallions

Pretty darn good! The meat was really tender with a nice savory flavor. Not over powering at all. The Apple added a nice sweet element to balance it out just right .

Do not get the beer mack and cheese. It was watered down with no flavor. I had to throw it away after I ate the 10 small pieces of bacon.

Delicious and unique fare at this local food truck…read more Online ordering easy using Streetfinder app. Food ready on-time and piping hot, service welcoming and friendly. The menu is pork-centric, featuring several varieties of thinly pounded pork chops. Tried 2 of them. The first is a char grilled boneless pork chop, topped with pickled peppers, arugula. It's served on ciabatta bread, slathered with a sambal-based aioli. The meat is tender and moist, the aioli just spicy enough to stimulate the taste buds. The second is Korean-marinated pork, topped with pickled carrots, Korean radish & cilantro. The marinate adds a touch of sweetness, which contrasts beautifully with the tangy pickled carrots and tart radish. Shout out to the arancini (deep fried risotto balls). Golfball sized dollops of soft, creamy, cheesy risotto are breaded and deep friend golden brown. Crunchy outside, succulent on the inside, 4 to the serving. Yum! A variety of delicious and unique offerings. Check out this food truck when you see them. Good stuff!

My husband and I split the Korean pork sandwich, roasted pork with eggplant sandwich, arancini (with mushrooms) and fried taties (no pork added).
