Baby Octopus
Sandy N.

I stopped into Delicias after Park Guel for a snack. Delicias reminds me of a home-y neighborhood cafe. The morning was filled with locals drinking coffee and a group of seniors gambling on the electric machines. I was still on American time and ordered lunch at 10am and they happily obliged. I got the patatas bravos and small octopus dish to share. This was more than enough food for lunch. The patatas were crunchy and hot and the red sauce left a lingering garlic taste. Imagine French fries with a garlic paprika sauce! The baby octopus had a wonderful seared crisp that was surrounded in flavored olive oil. These were the perfect bite size. Delicias was authentic, generously proportioned, and very reasonably priced. My Airbnb host recommended this place and now I recommend to any other visitors. A wonderfully located spot right outside one of the Park Güell exits.

Patatas bravas

Was on the hunt for the best patatas bravas in Barcelona and can easily say we found them. This place is insanely delicious with fast service and reasonable prices. A bit off the road from the typical tourist locations in Las Ramblas but well worth the visit -- a must do!

Local bar recommended by our Airbnb host. Place had awesome mussels and mushrooms. Their padron peppers were awesome with a generous amount of salt. This is a great place if you are walking around and want more of a local feel.

Price: Inexpensive for quality and large amount of food. Our entire meal was 24.20 euros and 2 people were stuffed (see pictures for bill) Food: Delicias! Pratas Bravas: This was a huge portion. I should've gotten half. It was topped with a red/orange sauce and crema. Tasty! Mussels in sauce: Delicious! I enjoyed this dish very much. They were very generous. Pimentos: Not spicy, but great flavor! Fried Calamari: We ordered a half portion and it was the perfect size! Beer is only 2 euros! The portion sizes are large. Ask for half orders. Service: Quick and friendly. Catalan or Spanish only. Honestly, this is once place in barcelona, near Park Guell, that you will be getting a bang for your buck in exchange for authentic food.

Grilled cuttlefish

As our first proper meal in Barcelona, this place did not disappoint. It's very unassuming, several tables outdoors where you can people watch, and loads of locals enjoying beer and food around us. After struggling with the Catalan menu, the server kindly offered us the international menu, which has four languages and pictures. We ended up ordering a mix of tapas: grilled cuttlefish, fried pork cheeks, fisherman's clams and pan con tomate. Each dish was simple yet flavorful in it's own way, definitely a very homey type of vibe. My favorite was the grilled cuttlefish, which had the perfect amount of buttler, parsley and seasoning and pairs well with beer. We left very full and happy, unable to finish a few dishes for only 25 Euro, which we felt was a fabulous deal for the atmosphere and food. Would recommend, and I'd even say it's worth the trip out to visit this restaurant.

As other reviewers have said, this is a truly authentic Spanish restaurant experience. However, since it's Barcelona they must get a fair amount of tourists still, because they have a nifty English menu if you ask for it. I ate dinner here around 9:30pm, typical in Spain, and ate in their outdoor area. I was surrounded by Spanish speakers smoking, drinking, and eating (of course) and generally having a good time. I highly recommend the patatas bravas - they give you a huge heap of them with a mild cheese and delicious sauce on top, very good value. I also got the champiniones (mushrooms) and they were okay but not my favourite. If you want to feel like one of the locals and eat some delicious patatas bravas, come to Las Delicias!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

Today they had one small table on the sidewalk and the rest indoor including limited bar seating. This is a spot clearly for locals as evidenced by the sheer number of people speaking Catalán around me. It's fabulous in every way- service, ambiance, food and what will be most surprising for Americans, price. For less than $20 I had tuna tartar (more like a guacamole with fresh tuna), beef short ribs, wine, coffee, water and the perfectly small sized piece of cake (tarta de Santiago) from the menu of the day Everything was amazing, and while I wasn't able to do so myself, many people left with leftovers. Come, enjoy and just be grateful that places like this still exist in the world!

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. I came here for lunch, and thankfully I didn't have to wait too long before I got seated inside. The interior is a bit on the smaller side, but it's quite bright with a lot of natural sunlight inside. For the food, I decided to get squid, codfish with honey allioli, and iberian ham montaditos. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. If you just get one things when coming here, definitely make sure not to miss this dish. Highly recommend checking this place out for Spanish tapas, they represent the cuisine well!

I always recommend the abondigas (there a dark green color from the spinach, but really yummy I promise). I also love the grilled octopus (pulpo) and the seafood paella, which takes a while to cook so order it in advance. The drinks and coffee are always a hit, but I love that it's so close (within walking distance) from the Sagrada Família, so I always make an effort to come here after visiting the landmark. Service has always been great. I have usually been served by the Dark Haired Bartender (ask him about his sister in Utah if you visit). Everyone speaks English and is pretty friendly. It's a smaller spot on one side with bar seating and some tables inside and outside, but they have a more restaurant style sit down place that's a couple stores down so you can have the best of both worlds. I usually opt for the bar seating to people watch and chat with the bartenders.
