Cub grocery stores around the Twin Cities are exceptionally generous. They allow food trucks and…read moresmall businesses to park in their lots to do business. Of course, they are parked furthest away from the actual store, but the support is nice to see. When you see a review from me for a Cub store, chances are that I am here to support a local business. It was the case a few Saturdays ago. I was back to pick up two bottles of Fire and Ice Pickles. Michelle is the woman behind this fine business. It was my second time ordering from her. The waiting list is a good month to get your pickles. I lucked out with my timing. She had a few pickup locations. I had arrived in town on a Friday. She had a pickup date on Saturday. It was at this Cub store in Blaine. The window was between 3 and 4 pm. I had no problem finding this Cub store. I was coming from Coon Rapids, so my drive was ten minutes. This Cub store is in a rather vast plaza. The store is wide. It also has a pharmacy. There was plenty of parking just after 3 pm. It was moderately busy. It was easy finding her vehicle with her company's logo on flags. She is a nice woman. She remembered that I stayed in Bloomington the first time that I bought a bottle of her amazing pickles. I was in Eagan this time. I paid with cash. She bottled and packaged my jars of pickles nicely. She worked until 4 am to get all orders ready for this day. I was up till 4 am as well, coming down from the Minnesota Wild winning game 3 of the first round of playoffs. She said that if I needed more pickles, to let her know. She would expedite my order because I "came so far," which was super sweet of her. When I ordered my first bottle of pickles, I consumed them within a day. They are that yummy. They are tangy, sweet, garlicky, with heat. So good! I was a bit better pacing myself with my two bottles of pickles. I ate them before my trip was over. Delicious! They make regular pickles seem so boring. I appreciate that she has Cub pickup locations around the Twin Cities. It allows me to discover new places that I've never been to. I can also figure out where Cub stores are that I could potentially shop at someday! (130)

Staff was quick to clean up after a customer dropped a carton of eggs in the cashier lane. This will be my new Cub store.

Hark! Gather ye round, good gentles all, for I must needs recount a most wondrous encounter within…read morethe fair halls of Kowalski's Market. Upon a fine morn, I did venture forth with but a single purpose: to procure one grape--nay, not just any grape, but one most crisp and crunchy, like unto the first frost-kissed fruit of autumn's glory. Lost amidst the aisles of abundance, my spirit did begin to waver. Yet lo! There appeared a gallant youth, clad in the humble vestments of service--his name, as sung by the angels (or perhaps his nametag), was Zachary. With a smile bright as the morning sun and cheer as boundless as a spring meadow, this noble fellow did not mock my quest, strange though it was. Nay, he embraced it with mirth and honor, guiding me with great care through vineyard and produce till the chosen orb was found. Truly, Zachary is a steward of joy, a knight of customer service, and the grape--verily!--was as crunchy as mine heart did hope. Five stars, and may his smile never fade.

I also love that they have a smoothie and juice store in there because it makes it super convenient. The bakery section is always filled with beautiful cakes, pies tarts and so much more. Staff here are always helpful and kind. I know I can find organic produce and also Hispanic cooking items I usually use for recipes.
